  1. It is going to depend on who gives sam the best deal. He can stay here and keep losing or maybe go elsewhere and not be in the basement If the money was the same or close, i could see him leaving. I wouldn't stay unless the Sabres are overpaying by a lot...and im a fan of this team
  2. I know the cdc says people who are vaccinated can hang out together with no worries, but yesterday everyone was at my mother in laws, and everyone was wearing a mask except my sister in laws boyfriend. apparently he doesn't take social cues or just refused. This guy is generally a real piece of ***** for other reasons and everyone sees it except my sister in law. I just stayed on the opposite side of the room from him. F him, such a dick. We have said 1 million times over the last few visits to wear it when you are not eating.
  3. my top 10 best players are of course sabres 1. hutton 2. risto
  4. I tend to believe that most news at this point should be considered entertainment and not based on facts or maybe incomplete facts, or even only complete up to the point that it matches their agenda I think that the news does fear mongering and half truth to get ratings. Like the old "Can this popular toy your kids use everyday seriously injure them? Find out at 11". Why not say sooner, and risk injury?
  5. i just read the stuff being lifted in nj, and its a good start. hopefully the numbers dont spike and they can continue to remove restrictions.
  6. my mother was a really long hold out. she didnt want to get it, even though she was very high risk (previous cancer) very elder, and not in good health. she spoke to her doctor, who told her that he was shocked she didnt get it, and said she needed to get it right away. she got it 2 days later, and she is ready to get on with her life. i keep telling her she has 6 weeks to go, she only got her first dose of 2 (Moderna) i understand that people dont want to get it, and again, that is their choice, but i dont want fear to win out over science when it comes to re-opening. i have all the compassion in the world for people who are nervous. i didnt go out for 1 year, and now that i have the vaccine (fully), i am starting to go out. I still wear a mask (3 masks actually), and i try to stay away from people, but i realize, it can't be like this forever. i also see the numbers in NJ are half what they were just 1 month ago. part of it is people are outside more, and part is the vaccine.
  7. man, what a season. i have to say, i love hockey more than any sport. this sabres team has brought me completely disinterested in all hockey. that hasnt happened to me since hasek got traded. i also follow the wild, which are doing amazing this year, but they are on the west, so the games are too late for me to watch. i wonder if its not time for me to stop "also" following the wild, and "only" follow the wild (once they get out of the west)

  9. at what point do we lift restrictions, or do we keep them forever now? it has to come at some point. you shouldnt need to incentivize a lifesaving vaccine. that should be enough incentive. me being jerk and ignorant aside, at what point do you think? also, my comments are not for people with medical reasons to not get it.
  10. I dont want to sound like a jerk, but if people dont want to get vaccine, its their choice. Maybe its time to open up fully with no mask required. Lets see how many change their minds
  11. My wife has been required to go in evry day. It was just a skeleton crew at the time. Now its a full staff
  12. My wifes company has now required all employees return to work in the office. No exceptions. well, except for a couple of managers, of course My wife was saying one of the employees has medical conditions and is having a bad time with the madk being on all day. She is very nervous about catching covid and she spoke to hr, and they told her too bad. Very compassionate
  13. So much for the sabres not winning as many games as the bills
  14. I didn't mean to insult anyone on my teacher comment.
  15. I dont want to say anything negative about teaching because its a thankless job. However, teachers work 180 days per year Regular workers have 262 days. Excluding holidays and sick days, if teachers worked the same numbers of days, 32k becomes much closer to 50k, which is good. If school went full year round like regular workers have to deal with is what im getting at
  16. Im all for getting free *****, but asking to get paid to make myself safe has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I can get the shot and severely reduce my risk of dying or i will hold out and take my chances unless i get paid Should be called United states of idiots https://www.yahoo.com/news/100-vaccine-incentive-experiment-suggests-115743715.html
  17. Thank you for that link. The more i think about it, the more i realize it doesn't matter. The sabres need so much. Another 1 pick doesn't even matter
  18. Serious question here. Even if the sabres are last in the league, its still very good possibility that they don't get the 1 pick? Like the tank year when the nhl gave it to Edmonton? It would be different if it was like the nfl where the picks were determined by the record
  19. it kind of sounds like a cult, a little bit
  20. this seems incredibly logical. https://www.yahoo.com/news/miami-private-school-centner-academy-233603240.html excerpt from the story by the way, my neighbor is a reptile alien who might be trying to harvest my organs.
  21. Is it me or does ullmark get injured a lot
  22. Nj numbers are starting to go down now. They are still really hight, but hopefully it is over soon
