  1. That's the issue I have with seeking perfect QB's or can't miss prospects. When a Luck or Winston comes out you need to be in last place or you don't get them. Why not have a team get good scouts that can find the next Derek Carr, R Wilson, Dak Prescott, or Aaron Rodgers? The Bills might luck into someone next year but please don't tell me there is some grand plan or strategy.
  2. Good point. No reason to let a badly run football team get you upset. And I am far past that now. Hey, at least Buffalo has Eichel. Right now I would probably take Rosen. Definitely like him better than Josh Allen and his 50% completion percentage in the Mountain West. Why would the Jets or 49ers or Browns give him to Buffalo though?
  3. Sure fire is subjective. I would say Mahomes was a top QB prospect and someone I focused on because while I believed he should go top 3 I realized that bad teams like the Browns, Bills, and Jets would probably not know how to evaluate him properly.
  4. Have no idea what you are referring to.
  5. The dude is already losing the locker room with his college coach routine. I wish I could drink that Koolaid. Jameis Winston was one of the best QB prospects to come out in the last decade. I would say Mahomes would be behind him but I would take Mahomes over Wentz or Goff who went 1 and 2 in their draft years.
  6. Gruden the TV personality vs Gruden the head coach who won a SB are two different animals. On his QB camp, you have to read between the lines because he has everyone on there. But even if you are stuck on his TV job and cannot separate that he was very candid about two things this year. Other QB coaches were all calling him and getting excited for Mahomes and Gruden himself placed Mahomes at the top of this year's class. Throw in Sean Payton who was reported by someone as ready to take Mahomes that was in the Saints war room and the NY Giants trying to trade up for him as well as Andy Reid. Congrats on 3rd place in your league. Depends who you listen to. I agree with you if you get your info from ESPN talking heads and known QB clunkers like Cossel or Fahey who every year miss wildly.
  7. Well, I am sure you are better at evaluating QB's than John Gruden, Andy Reid, Sean Payton, NY Giants front office, and the Steelers. Mahomes was a great QB prospect that the top QB people in the NFL could not stop talking about. Comparing him to TT is so asinine I have no other words. And when you have a guy running free at the QB you don't "go through progressions". You have to throw the ball away or make the D miss.
  8. I live in Buffalo. I suppose UB would be my team if they were any good.
  9. Don't quit your day job.
  10. I was actually expecting him to quit a few weeks into the season.
  11. It is possible that they can parlay their picks into a trade-up for a good prospect. But it also takes a trade partner. KC was lucky that (in my opinion) there was no one who understood the QB position on the Buffalo side of the trade. And it would have been far cheaper to just draft Mahomes! You get him now and if the season goes south you can start getting him into real games. Now the Bills have put themselves into a position where they have to take a QB high in 2018. And that kind of position screwed them over in 2013. My position was draft Mahomes, move on from TT. Worst case scenario is if Mahomes does not look like a franchise QB prospect as advertised you get another high pick in 2018. I also am angry at the Pegulas for not hiring anyone with any QB expertise on their resume. This is a QB driven league and you need to have coaching assets and scouting assets in place to strike when an opportunity arises. Bills were a day late and a dollar short last year with Dak Prescott. Apparently, they had him in for multiple visits and really liked him. But ended up using a high 2nd and an another pick to draft a 2 down linebacker to save Rex's defense.
  12. That would be a huge win if Z took another step.
  13. Ok. Fair enough. I guess I could see a scenario where the record isn't good but I don't write off the coach. More likely scenario is we do know what we have but I have far less patience than you. I was done with Bylsma shortly after last year started and only gave him that much time because he inherited a terrible team.
  14. Yes. Vesey specifically wanted the bright lights big city of NY. Not every free agent wants the same.
  15. and then give Jack another player with speed who can score. So that would be someone else while Zemgus would be doing the dirty work for Jack and the goal scorer. And to be clear I am not stating this needs to be in stone. But I wouldn't mind seeing it for a bit while Housley is looking for lines and players with chemistry.
  16. So if you see this roster as similar to last year what would 6 wins or less say about the new coaching staff?
  17. Well, maybe the Bills are holding back and we will see a much better team when the real action starts. I doubt it though. Right now I expect to see the offense take a step back and the D will struggle to cover people when the opposing QB gets time.
  18. Brady is not athletic but he has terrific pocket presence. That's something the Bills have not had during the drought.
  19. Well, I don't feel like going round and round about preseason. It is neither meaningful nor meaningless.
  20. I would not be opposed to trying Zemgus with Jack as the grit guy and then give Jack another player with speed who can score.
  21. So why is Tyrod Taylor struggling to complete basic passes then?
  22. Let me be clear. Preseason scores do not matter. But players are getting evaluated. Every year we hear Buffalo fans excuse away the terrible play in pre-season as meaningless yet when the real bullets start flying what do we see? Exactly the same problems! Guys jumping off-sides, coaches punting inside the 40, players holding on every run, terrible pass protection, wide receivers not getting separation. Now, back to the QB the Bills traded to a known QB guru. On this play, Mahomes has a 6 foot 6 280 lb defender bearing down on him. Mahomes stiff arms the guy and throws a laser for a first down through 3 defenders while on the run. This is what got people excited and it's sad that the Bills have recently passed on Derek Carr, Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, and now PM2.
  23. Well, looks like top QB evaluator Sean The Wrestler messed up big-time. Of course, he knows more than John Gruden, Sean Payton, Andy Reid at drafting QB's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBA0rj9SCsY
  24. I agree. With Jack there should be nothing but excitement. We have our young superstar and now need to take the next step.
  25. Sam Darnold. Yes. Josh Rosen. No. Josh Allen. No. Baker Mayfield. Yes.
