Probably not, it’s more likely that in conversation they ranked Kulich and Östlund ahead of him, much like when Stl had Thomas, Kyrou and Thompson and Tage was the “3rd best.” However, it was funny to image Pronman making the call as I described.

Depends on what other moves are made. In general sure, but not necessarily with Savoie, Rosen and Kulich already in the system. Trade a couple of those 3 prospects and I definitely consider making the deal for McGroarty.

More evidence that Adams does k ow what the hell he’s doing. So Adams traded away his most versatile forward, who he didn’t offer a contract to and who was his best was his best forward last season, creating a huge hole in his lineup that he couldn’t fill for a redundant defenseman who can’t play defense effectively and didn’t generate offense after the first few games. Sounds like a great trade.

There is certainly a chance he does something positive, such as bringing in a 2/3c, but until he actually makes a intelligent move, I can’t see why anyone would have confidence he can get it done. Going through a presser admitting that you’re going to buyout Skinner while retaining Krebs and Joki doesn’t instill confidence that positive change is coming.

It is depressing watching an unqualified tool Adams run a team into the ground. What makes it worse, is watching Beane confidently retool the Bills on the fly. Keeping Krebs at this point simply because he’s young is stupid. He is a sub-replacement level player who should be replaced by a veteran 4th line player. It’s also foolish to re-sign Joki beyond one year if at all. He doesn’t defend in zone very well, he isn’t tough to play against and isn’t an offensive catalyst. All he is is 3rd pairing filler who can eat minutes in an emergency. Why spend cap in these two when they can be upgraded for the same money?

Yes even at his Q-offer (2.6) amount. However the extension they are discussing is 4 years or more at 4 mill a season. How on G-d’s green Earth is he worth that kind of money. I’d rather give Johnson(900K) the 3rd pair with Clifton than spend 2.6 or more on Joki. To voluntarily spend $4 mill on a 3rd pairing D is another example of poor cap and asset management. To make the deal really bad he’ll sign him for 5 years at 4.5 with a NMC. Adams has zero idea how to build a manage a hockey team.

But it’s the difference in Komarov vs Lyckasen. I honest don’t care who wins, but I’d always prefer a better draft pick. I’d also prefer that Okposo and Erod win a Cup vs Evander Kane.

I think the game plan is becoming clearer. Buyout Skinner to make room for Savoie and then re-sign Krebs and Joki. Another banner off-season by Kevyn Adams already in the works. I forgot, trade down from 11 for an unknown package. I did suggest such a move earlier and now I’m ashamed. Any idea that Adams agrees with is probably not a good idea. I apologize.

After listening to the press conference it seems pretty clear that Skinner is on the way out. How did that conversation go? KA - Jeff you really crapped the bed in the second half of the season. JS - I know, but I’ve had tough seasons before and always bounce back. KA - That’s true, but you still don’t back check and we need the guys to finally buy in on playing to ways. JS - I’ll try. Kevyn I really like it here and I think I can be part of the solution. KA - I’m sorry Jeff, you are a good guy and an elite scorer when your on, but the team has decided to go in a different direction. Please give me some teams you’ll accept a trade to and I’ll see what I can get done. If I can’t find a suitable trade, we are going to buy you out. He does seem intent on bringing back Joki and Krebs. No wonder this team doesn’t get better.

I don't think so either, but I would have said t hat about Benson last year. I'm kind of hoping Sennecke is available at 11. I like Iginla also. In the second, I like Miettinen. Big, already physical, and skates well. He also is apparently very defensively aware.

When I got home from work, I went and compared his selections to where those guys currently sit on my consensus board (I currently have 177 players listed) 11. Catton (5th) 43. Eliasson (103rd) 76. Kol (101st) 108. Cowen (un-rated - but on my 36 player "other" list along with Miro Satan Jr). 109. Marques (64th) 172. Avramov (114th) 204. Shorkin (134th) 225. Major (Un-rated) I have 59 players with nearly unanimous 1 or 2nd rd grades and he picks Eliasson? Kol in the 3rd is just as awful.
