  1. McKay is an excellent college goalie. He had 4 years with a sub 1.8 gaa and a 930+ save %. He’d be good on any team. He’ll probably be a solid pro as well. His numbers are considerably better then guys like Andrew Hammond or Aaron Dell who carved out solid pro careers including significant NHL time.
  2. Difference in the game was special teams. We gave up 2 PP goals on 2 attempts, while only scoring one on 4 attempts. Their PK was aggressive and forcing quick decisions that lead to mistakes. We sit back and watch teams play with the puck.
  3. He has for a couple of weeks. It looks like a nagging leg injury that seems to have limited the power in his skating.
  4. And playing smart two way hockey. His line has been our best tonight.
  5. I don’t mind it so much. McKay has had a great career and the Hobey is often a career award. McKay had the best career while Levi was the best goalie this season.
  6. Why do we seem to play more back to back games then other fracnhises?
  7. I think you are taking my post much to seriously. That said, everything I posted was accruate.
  8. Really good shift by Mitts. Great support on both ends of the ice and nice job breaking up the Florida rush.
  9. Maybe they should change things up and put Bryson on the PP as a 2nd D to help on the shortie chances.
  10. We should have all known that the Southern Ontario native would have his first game against Toronto in Toronto.
  11. Great first period, terrible second. I feel like I’m watching the same game I saw yesterday. Tokarski isn’t an adequate NHL goalie. Skinner with 30. Olofsson closing in on 20 despite the injury. We need to skate better in the 3rd and stay out of the box. Our PK just sucks.
  12. I was curious on how the other 2 top prospects that Jbot considered from Stl were doing this season. Like Tage, Robert Thomas and Jordan Kyrou have fully blossomed this season. Both are now pt a game players, but more playmakers then goal scorers. Thomas has 60 pts in 60 games with 14g and Kyrou has 63 pts in 63 games with 20 goals. Also both guys are under contract for one more season. Tage, while not a pt a game player (yet?), is by far the goal leader of the 3 with 32 in 68 games (tonight not included) and 57 points overall. I wonder if all 3 guys’ next contracts will be semi based on the others? Regardless, all three guys will be expensive to re-sign. If Tage scores 30 again next season, I’d expect a contract similar to Dahlin’s bridge deal.
  13. Definitely a factor. Still Dryden McKay is a great name for a goalie and he has had an excellent career. 4 seasons of sub 2 gaa and save% around 930 with 2 Frozen 4s is an amazing accomplishment. He needs to play two NHL games to double his Dad’s NHL career.
  14. I don’t think that is unreasonable given how the team has played since the calendar turned to March. We still need for veteran depth on D and a good goalie. Hopefully we’ll have those acquisitions to add to this thread.
  15. Carly wrote and owns her music. She wrote this song because Cat Stevens was late coming over to her home for dinner. I’m sure she sold the rights to her song to Heinz for considerable $.
  16. Inky, I didn’t know you had a GIF
  17. There is some justice in the world. He was practically a one man team many nights. Congrats Devon! Well earned. He is a finalist for the Hobey! How many goalies win the Hart in the NHL? @Buffalonill https://hobeybaker.com/VFH/vfh2022-devon-levi/
  18. No, not really, just trying to update the thread. Was my update inaccurate? Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, I forgot to add that he failed to weaponize any of our cap space at the deadline to garner more assets for the franchise.
  19. So what has GM Kevyn been up to lately? Traded D Hagg for a 6th rd pick a day before the trade deadline. Went to the NCAA Regional and watched his prized goalie Devon Levi lose. Then lost a pt a game AHL forward Arttu Routsalainen to a Swiss league team. Then went to the Frozen Four and watched all four prized prospects lose. Then only managed to sign one (Owen Power) of those 5 prospects to a contract (so far).
  20. Your not missing much. Vogl's next fall lineup from Nov 2021 already has some hits and misses. He predicted: Skinner Cozens KO Asplund Mitts Tuch Quinn Krebs JJP Girgensons Thompson KO with R2 and Bjork in reserve. The obvious miss is R2 who is gone from the organization when the season ends. Thompson is now the top line center and Krebs looks entrenched on the wing. Bjork is also likely to be gone. The D is similar to most predictions except he has Laaksonen at the 3rd pair RHD. Oskari is unlikely to make the team next fall if ever. He also agrees with everyone here that KA needs to acquire a goalie to pair with UPL next season. This was also written before KA said was actively looking for veteran help on the right side. The point of his article was to show how the kids will factor in over the next few seasons and how we'll probably be ready for the playoffs in another 3 years. I'm calling BS here. Obviously we have 5 months of additional info, but this team looks primed to make a leap in performance next season as long as KA gets the vet goalie and RHD we need.
