Actually, I think it would be a minor major.

Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #27 Devon Levi
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Why is Levi so good? This is why. The first series of saves in the second video is simply insane. -
Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #20 Jiri Kulich

https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/jiri-kulich-after-practice-6337113723112 What a difference one off-season makes. This kid is now carved out of stone. -
Everyone needs to watch this video. I know it's edited, but fascinating how they work their connections. Obviously, they watched Benson a ton because of Savoie and Krebs, but Okposo having a line into Wahlberg was also surprising.

Maybe the new rule would create more urgency to score quickly?

I have long believed that a missed penalty shot should still result in at least a 1 minute PP. I don't understand why a SH goal would end a PP. I do like the idea that certain dangerous infractions, like boarding, could result in a two-minute PP regardless of how many goals are scored. Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd change the regular PP rules. I agree with the delayed penalty idea.

Update from Owen Power’s Agent Pat Brisson on an extension
GASabresIUFAN replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Just get it done at this point. Is it stupid money for a guy with one year of NHL experience? Yes, but a bridge will still cost 6+ and with the cap rising and so much depth in the forward pipeline, they can afford the added cost both short and long-term. -
https://theathletic.com/4861707/2023/09/14/sabres-jiri-kulich-rookie-camp/ Tidbits from the article. Also - Metsa paired with Johnson, and made an instant impact for the Amerks in the playoffs last year. Kozak centering the Neuchev and Kisakov.

Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #1 Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
All the goalies will hopefully benefit from improved play in front of him. Unless he fixed the flaws Marty has been talking about for the last few years, he will conri ue to be a below replacement goaltender. -
Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #20 Jiri Kulich

He is going to play so well early this season in Rochester that he forces KA to bring him up and keep him up. -
Good play by Johnson and Novikov in this tourney and then in camp will make me feel much better about our D depth. Johnson isn’t making the team in camp, but I agree he could end up playing some games in Buffalo this season. The big 3 forwards are also going to be interesting to watch. Will this tournament be a spring board for one of them to earn an NHL roster spot? I doubt it given the depth in Buffalo, but these guys have the talent to force KA’s hand.

Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #6 Erik Johnson
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
He is the veteran D with instant locker room credibility that our young D group has long needed and KA finally delivered. He is going to hit, block shots, play smart in zone defense and lead by example. Hopefully he appears in 70+ games, plays 17 minutes a night, and enhances our PK. Any O contribution would be a bonus. Let’s pray he stays healthy because the depth behind him is suspect. The credibility comes from playing years in the NHL, winning a Cup and being a 1st overall pick. The draft status is particularly interesting to the Sabres because of Dahlin and Power. Has there ever been an NHL team that featured 3 top picks in the same blueline? -
Sabres vs Mon is 7pm Friday and I think it's going to stream on the Sabres youtube channel.

How would you fix it to keep the CHL viable and give the players the most appropriate opportunity?

Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #12 Jordan Greenway
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I don’t think people are appreciating how different the Sabres will look next season. A healthy Greenway combined with the 2 D additions will make this team much much harder to play against. Greenway at his best flourished with Ericksson-Ek and our friend Marcus Foligno. I think Krebs will work as an Ericksson-Ek replacement. The question is who do we cast as Marcus Foligno or who will at least play with a Foligno-esque work ethic? -
Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #89 Alex Tuch
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I do think people underrate his playmaking ability. The guy sees the ice as well as any player on the Sabres. I also like that he is wearing Mogilny's number. -
Annual expectations thread 2023/24: #53 Jeff Skinner
GASabresIUFAN replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
I voted with you that I expect Skinner to have another 30/30 season give or take a little. You mentioned in another thread that Casey is our 5th best forward. I think Casey closes the gap to Skinner and we could argue by year's end that Casey is now the 4th best forward on the team. -
I think you are misreading the qualified privilege. The privilege discusses opinions made in a lawsuit, such as I believe it was Mr. X who stole my watch. This is a lawsuit against the NFL, not TP. In his complaint, the plaintiff states that TP said X. That is a different matter. I was not placed in the lawsuit as a matter of opinion. He better have firm evidence that TP made that statement.

Would it fair to say this will be the most talented team the Sabres have fielded for a prospects tournament? The forward group has 4 1st rd draft picks, a 2nd rd pick, and 2 talented mid-draft picks in Neuchev and Nadeau in the top 9. There is also a 1st rd pick on defense. All in all, there are 16 Sabres draft picks on this roster including my favorite value pick from the last draft in goaltender Scott Ratzlaff and the media's favorite value pick in forward Ethan Miedema. Breakdown by draft class 2023 (4) - Benson, Miedema, Ratzlaff & Panocha 2022 (5) - Savoie, Kulich, Neuchev, Lindgren and Komarov 2021 (5) - Rosen, Kisakov, Nadeau, Novikov and Kozak 2019 (2) - Johnson and Cederqvist The Others College UFAs - Metsa (D), Jandric (D), Mersch (C) - Note: brother of Michael Mersch, CHL UFAs - Savoie (D), Fiddler-Schultz (C) Non-Roster - Fleming (G), Sherk (C) AHL Vet - Giroux (C), Slaggert (C)

https://theathletic.com/4856601/2023/09/12/mike-williams-dies-buccaneers-bills/ He was paralyzed in a construction accident last week. He was taken off the ventilator on Thursday. He played 5 seasons in the NFL, 4 with TB and one with Buffalo. He had 964 yards and 11 TDs as a rookie in 2010. He played college ball at Syracuse.

I don't think Trotter could hide from a defamation lawsuit because he made the claim in a lawsuit. This claim wasn't an opinion but looks to be stated as a factual statement by TP. If the claim is false, I don't think the fact he made it in a lawsuit helps him. Otherwise, people would lack adequate recourse against false accusations.

One of the assorted scrubs is only 23 and made his NHL debut last season. Damien Giroux is going to be a solid depth player for the Amerks this season.
