For the first time in years there is opportunity opening up in the east. Tampa, Pitt, Washington are aging out and the Islanders are meh. Detroit is still spinning wheels. Ottawa is the main threat of up and coming young teams. Next year should be a push.

It is what it is. This team simply is not playoff ready yet. Very inconsistent with poor defensive play and weak goaltending killed the season.
