The best center we have had since Pat Lafontaine and they are pretty much forcing his hand to get out of dodge because it's life sucking for anyone who is truly competitive to be in this atmosphere.

Me too...but they are, in the 21st century so far, the most inept and poorly run organization in all of pro sports. They are the outlier and poster boy of what a losing culture is.

I am not sure of experienced guys available that could fill the GM role, but there are at least 3 really good experienced coaches available. The whole FO from the top down needs to be scrapped. Radical moves must be made to jettison this losing culture including trading some core players. It is not working. It can be fixed with some bold moves.

For god sakes get an experienced front office immediately

People were counter arguing in the one thread there is no such thing as a losing culture? This is perhaps the worst example of a entrenched losing culture I have ever seen in professional sports. If it were me I would get Gallant in the offseason. He took a garbage Florida team to the playoffs in one year. He is a SOB and that is exactly what we need. I am sick of the nice guys.

I appreciate your positivity. If we were just an average team I could follow you. But this is the most inept organization with a established losing culture. You should know by now.

We need basically 6 wins in our last 17 just to get more points than last year If we lose tonight. I can see a scenario where that might not happen.

It will only take 2 more seasons of not qualifying for the playoffs to make this officially the most inept organization of all time with the longest drought. At this point it is more likely than not.

Better hope Victor only sprained his knee. A blown out knee and that’s half of next season at least. That makes things much worse.

I hope I’m wrong but we’ve been here before countless times. It’s almost always the same. This season was sunk in November. We all knew it.

This game is over. This mentally fragile team is spent.

When the Sabres are winning we were easily top 10 in attendance.

When he got completely fleeced in the ROR deal and then picked a Center who couldn't do a pull up and thought he could take over the 2C duties, that was an error of maximum ineptitude. Not to mention the other moves or lack thereof. There is potential a proficient GM could of taken the same scenario and we would be a playoff team by this year.

Spot on. In actuality if we would of just let Darcy continue we would of been better off. The last of his picks did some good things. Mcnabb is a stud. Armia and Compher are great middle six wingers. GMTM traded them away, and a ton of draft picks Darcy amassed, with nothing to show for it now. He did, to his credit, bring in a stud center and winger, and then JBot went on to trade them away for next to nothing. Same mistake twice within a few years. Between our drafting, wasting of assets, and horrendous player development, coupled with a carousel of coaches and philosophies, and the buffoonery of horrible cap management and horrible signings...this could be an indefinite state for much longer then we like to imagine as possible. I honestly believe we are the absolute worst organizationally run team in the league and it's not even close. The proof is in the 9 year drought which is headed for unprecedented record territory. It's almost an artform to be this bad. We are the outlier for extreme ineptitude and some bad luck. I am not mad at the tank at all. It could of very much worked out with the right GM overseeing it.

There is a chance they could break it honestly. This team needs 4-5 players and some luck.
