Yeah as I said yesterday, that interview on WGR was quite telling. It's like he is talking about a completely different team then what we are all watching. It was obvious to me we were screwed when I saw the return on the ROR trade. Over my dead body would I of made that deal.

The Sabres need 11 points just to match last years point total. A tall order in itself with the remaining schedule. We literally could be passed by 2-4 bottom teams. The accidental tank is on again. We easily can be in the top 5 draft order.

Droughts are normal anomalies. But between his injury, and now teams completely blanket him defensively if you noticed, maybe not.

We will see for sure. But if we go something like 2-12 like we did last March (and pretty much the two previous months of March), which looks likely at this point, he can’t put it on the coach anymore. It’s just how the business runs.

If we made progress I could bear it. But we have not. Jack is who we thought he was and has shown it. And he still has more potential. Sam has likely reached his ceiling. Dahlin made progress but has a ways to go. Joki may be the only good story. Skinner epically disappeared and we will get about 15-18 goals for $9 million. The defense is slightly better. The offense is putrid. The special teams are near historically bad. The goaltending is subpar. This team is 2-3 years from being competitive.

Ottawa will beat us back to the playoffs. After this draft they will have double the high quality prospects we do.

D-men generally don't make the same impact forwards do at a young age. If he continues to develop to potential it wont be fully felt until he is 25 on a cup contender.
