And now it’s finally time to turn the page to the annual “look forward to the summer” moves that never come from Adams. I won’t hold my breath. What I am actually looking forward to is the summer of maybe 2027 or 2028, just after Adams’ has been whacked. Then maybe major moves will finally occur. Maybe.

Sabres approach…stand around and watch. Oh I’m sure Adams will make 1-2 meaningless trades from the 3rd or 4th lines. He will do NOTHING to drastically improve this team. And for those say well just wait for the off season, yeah we’ve heard and hoped for that before as well. He sits on his hands come summertime as well.

The past few seasons solely have been a failure of special teams and inconsistent goaltending. Obviously they need better talent through the forward and defensive group, but if you had to narrow it down to just a couple crucial areas, it’s special teams and the need for far above average goaltending.

This team, as currently constructed, isn’t nearly good enough at goaltender, defense and forward. ALL three phases need improvement before this team is anywhere close to being a playoff team.

I’ve felt that way the past four years and haven’t regretted the decision to give them up one bit. I’m amazed at how many others are still gluttons for punishment with their time and money for a franchise that could care less about giving them a good product to cheer for.

Sabres were sure ready for this one. Being swept by a Montreal team that is not a playoff team. At least the people that were desperately hoping can finally stop wasting time trying to figure out how many games we need to win to somehow squeak in. I stopped doing that figuring in November.

The Sabres are 2-3 years away from being a playoff team and that’s only if about a dozen things all go right. Not holding my breath on any of it based on the past decade and a half of hockey hell.

They’d have to get Terry to even pay attention first

Adams is going to sit on his hands. He might make a low level trade, if anything. He certainly won’t make any kind of trade that makes the Sabres a better team.
