  1. He is an extremely skilled/talented player. I’m not going to try to sell him though because I actually think there are some character/off ice concerns there. But if the cost is Scandella or Bogo, I’m in I guess.
  2. Is a JAG anyone who isn’t a star player? Thats the only way I can wrap my head around a player who consistently scores at 20+ goal/season pace being a JAG.
  3. He is definitely a more accomplished goal scorer and better PP player than Vesey. Just glancing at what the two have done over their careers shows this pretty clearly.
  4. Just 2 weeks today. Not long at all. Players are sometimes out months with concussions.
  5. Guhle + for Montour, Nylander for Jokiharju. I agree that D is a logjam that needs to be thinned, everyone does. But he has made trades.
  6. Zamboni is proposing trading defensive depth for improved forwards. Is that a non productive idea that has no hope of helping the team?
  7. “......he said as he adjusted his tin foil hat.” ?
  8. 3rd line player perhaps, but also a #1 PP player.
  9. The NHL basically did this for Pegula during the previous GM search. Giving them a list of the top GM candidates to interview.
  10. This could make sense as a move to address the failing PP. Galchenyuk has a long history as an effective PP player. At 5 on 5, he is not so hot.
  11. He is gun shy to do what? Make a trade? He has made many since the ROR deal. Why do people keep saying this?
  12. 1) everything in the future remains to be seen. We were talking about right now. 2) good point
  13. Why should we care about that? You would be more pleased if they were spending less? I could see if they were in long term cap trouble, but that’s not the case.
  14. ilk /ilk/ noun a type of people or things similar to those already referred to.
  15. Can you elaborate on this? I’ve no doubt that it happens but I’m wondering what you have in mind specially.
  16. Smith runs the PK. Does he run the PP? I thought Granato did? Maybe Taylor was when he was here?
  17. Actually, the opposite is true, sort of. Avs traded him then had a worse season, Sabres traded him then had a better season. Of course there are too many other factors that go into a season.
  18. That would work really well too, if you eliminate OT entirely.
  19. I say 3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for an OT win. No loser point. Take away the incentive to just play it safe and get the game to OT.
  20. Was this one of those must win ones? If yes, aw darn, we’re doomed.
  21. I’ve long thought this is the best measure of how a team is really doing. Take out the OT games. OT/SO is a crapshoot.
  22. If you can’t get the puck out of the DZone or into the OZone, you won’t win many games. He has been a little better this season I think, but still needlessly throws the puck off the wall/boards and out more than anyone else. And I agree that a part of it is the forwards as well.
  23. I really don’t think anyone else is deserving.
  24. You think they are so physical that they intimidate the other team? You think that they use their physicality to respond when liberties are taken? You think that their presence on the roster protects their teammates, as a policeman may? Can you give an example or two of times they have done things like this? I just don’t really every see it. Especially Risto. Im not trying to be a jerk, it’s just that I see people say stuff like this sometimes, but what I see on the ice just does not support it.
