  1. Buffalo needs more elite players. We all want more elite players on the team. Reinhart isn’t elite. We should ditch Reinhart because he isn’t elite. Don’t we all want better players on the team? Raise your standards guys! How do you expect the team to make the playoffs with good players like Sam Reinhart on the team, when what we NEED is elite players? I think I’m finally getting what @pi2000 is trying to say. DUW BUDDAR
  2. Over the past couple of seasons, Sam has been just as productive when not on the ice with Eichel.
  3. If he signs for 6+ years at anything under $7M, I think that’s an absolute bargain.
  4. I think that before the season started he profiled exactly the same way. We are hopeful/optimistic that he will be come an agitator/bottom 6 guy who can also score a little (10-15 goals). I think it was the same prior to the season.
  5. Yes, it’s true, Pekar isn’t dominating. His numbers are not high end territory for a D+2 player. He is doing well but not to such an extent that it further raises his prospect status.
  6. Ah, thanks. Yes, this seems to be the correct definition of CHL overager.
  7. Isn’t anyone past their draft year considered an overeager in the CHL?
  8. It was the stated plan from the time he brought to Rochester
  9. That could be true. It’s certainly possible that a Botterill misplayed the situation. It’s also possible that Sam had no reasonable interest in signing a long term contract at that time. Takes two to tango. As for the rest, that’s your opinion and that’s ok. ??
  10. The thing about this is that if Philly tried to sign Konecny to that same contract today, they would never be able to do it. It would cost them more. Just like if Sam had been signed long term two years ago, instead of signing this bridge deal, he would have commanded a fair amount less than he will on his next contract. He maybe could have been signed for something around that $5.5M that you reference. However, I feel like if Reinhart had been signed to a 6 yr $5.5M contract 2 years ago, you probably would have derided it as an overpay for a guy who is just a passenger, doesn’t play hard, is weak, etc. Am I super wrong?
  11. He is one of the best puck carriers on the team though. He does a good job of extending plays and making something from nothing at times.
  12. Risto thinks he is a forward now just because he stood in front on the PP
  13. Dunleavy called it an empty net goal. Sneaky shade at Ullmark.
  14. I knew that sentence was gold when I typed it.
  15. It wasn’t his wife’s sister. It was the ex-wife of his wife’s half-brother. They are from a small town.
  16. Agreed. The hangover you are still suffering from proves it.
  17. They went the CHL route in the same scenario last year. Yes, the forward talent in the top half of the 1st is really good it seems. Beyond Lafreniere and Byfield, there is Stutzle and Rossi who are both very dynamic potential stars. Then there is Raymond, Holtz, Lundell. I’m hoping that Buffalo can come away with one of those 7 forwards, but even beyond that there is Perfetti and Holloway who I don’t like as much but some people love. Then there are guys like Mercer, Mysak, Zary, Bourque, among others, who could come on strong
  18. It was all a joke really. People call Sam a passenger and say he picks up all these garbage assists off of Eichel. This was an example of Eichel picking up a point off a great play by Sam (and Vesey). Just playing off of that.
  19. Sam is so magical, he can get Vesey to score! Also, Johansson is one crafty puck carrier.
  20. Eichel picks up the passenger assist off of Reinhart’s magic.
  21. So you feel pretty confident that Lazar, Okposo, Sheary, or Vesey would have made the same pass just as well to spring the 2 on 1???
  22. In there it says that Rossi is 5’8 1/4” and 170lbs. That can’t be correct. Old numbers? Also says Stutzle is 6’1” 187 and I didn’t think he was that big. Ranking him over Byfield and Perfetti at 4 are flaming hot takes.
  23. This is wonderful.
  24. Good for Gallant, he hasn’t won a first one yet. Teams should have no reservations about hiring him.
