  1. Yeah, I don’t think they were trying to be bad though. The team is set up to have maximum roster flexibility this offseason though. I feel that, with this nearly blank slate, if the team is not a playoff team next season there is absolutely zero excuse. Everyone should be fired, including Sidney the dog.
  2. I think it was originally part of the plan to have not a lot of players under contract, cap space and roster flexibility this offseason because it was supposed to be the expansion draft. The Sabres would have been set up pretty sweet for it, but that got blown to heck when they pushed it back a year.
  3. Didn’t Krueger state that this was happening during the season? Didn’t he matter of factly state that he wanted defense to be a focus for Dahlin and that it would reduce is offensive production?
  4. Just read it. It’s not that long.
  5. He is 24. Older than Eichel and only 2 months younger than Reinhart. Might be good in Rochester, but I wouldn’t look for him to have an NHL future.
  6. In general I like Chad, and think that he has interesting things to say, but I agree. Very clickbait.
  7. I don’t have numbers in front of me, but it’s pretty well established that carrying the puck in is more likely to lead to sustained offensive zone possession. Now, carrying the puck in is not always feasible and sometimes you just have to dump it in, but its much better to design a “system” with the goal of carrying it in as much as possible.
  8. No idea. The tweet in the OP says it though. He writes articles about the Buffalo Sabres and post them on websites. Call it what you want I suppose.
  9. DUDES. He said “more on this tomorrow”. He is writer. He is teasing his story so that people will go read it. Maybe we will find out today. Then you can decide whether it’s trash or not.
  10. Haha, agree, but there are so many completely valid avenues for slamming the Buffalo Sabres without having to bend the “truth” like that. Doomed for many reasons, but the 2020-21 cap situation isn’t really one of them.
  11. Larsson at $3.1 is a bargain compared to Reinhart at $8.7. That’s crazyness. Highest prediction I’ve seen for Sam.
  12. I can’t read the article. Dang! That a Reinhart projection is terrible! He isn’t getting that. No way! I think that is about $2M high. The rest seem pretty close, depending on term. Some maybe just a tad high (~$0.5M), but reasonable. With contract projections like these, no wonder his article paints a cap doom picture. It’s not nearly that bad in reality.
  13. I think Buffalo should be able to afford to keep anyone off the current roster that they want to, and should have a couple million left over. With the cap projected to stay pretty flat, there probably won’t be enough money to go after a significant player without also moving salary out. When the cap was projected to rise $3M+, it was looking like Buffalo could probably add a good player ($5-6M). So with the cap now staying flat, it’s no surprise.
  14. If the US had the deaths per capita that Italy has had, it would equate out to about 160,000 deaths. In the beginning, Italy didn’t do enough and their hospital situation got completely out of control, then they locked everything down. It hit them early on they have had 26k confirmed deaths. They tried to do what Sweden is doing now, and their medical infrastructure just couldn’t handle it. They had to change strategies.
  15. In that case, do you feel that China and Italy also overreacted?
  16. Yeah sure, the US and China both. Bunch of wussies. And get the F off my lawn! This take (which you have consistently expressed) seems to be completely based on emotion as opposed to scientific information. It’s honestly surprising for someone in your field.

    Kim Jong-un

Well, I understand what you are saying, but I don’t know why you feel this way. I hope that my statement that I don’t think they are unstable was interpreted as a defense of them or an expression of how nice they must be. I would be surprised if anyone here has good things to say about them.

    Kim Jong-un

That’s basically what the thread is for, no? I’m not sure how talking about Jong-Un and Yo-Jung would be derailing the thread.
  19. I have not seen this issue around where I live. I went out to a popular park in the Albany area yesterday. The crowd was reasonable and people seemed to doing a pretty good job. Sorry that wasn’t the case where you were yesterday, but it doesn’t invalidate the entire practice of mitigation. I think it’s best look at the big picture with stuff like this.

    Kim Jong-un

I haven’t really viewed Kim Jong Un as unstable at all. What have you read about Yo Jong?
  21. I don’t get it. Mitigation needs to end because there were a lot of people at the park today?

They don’t have those second 2 in NK. The surgeon just gives a shot of whisky and a wooden spoon to bite down on. But seriously, I hope this leaves NK in stable hands, ultimately leading to some reforms. Don’t know how likely that is. The sister seems politically astute at least.
  23. Lol, we’ll see I guess. Can’t be certain either way just yet.
  24. I do understand you. I just think it’s more important to get the high end talent than to have an abundance of bottom of the roster talent. With hits like Mittelstadt, Nylander, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Armia, who needs misses?
