You think the Sabres have too much upper management right now???
-
Probably not. It seems short on elite talent.

I don’t think there is any way that Adams gets fired. He has a long, positive relationship with the Pegulas. Maybe roles could be shifted around though, and Adams ends up handling mostly business stuff and a new GM takes over. Perhaps after firing Botterill, they weren’t sure what to do on short notice (and during a pandemic), so they handed it to the guy close to them who they trusted. Could be more of a care taker type situation than a long term setup. Just speculation. Who knows.

I wonder, if a organization restructuring is going to happen, if the most likely thing is for Kevin Adams, someone they know and trust, to be PoHO, being the be the day to day representative of ownership and the go between from owners to organization. Then hire a new GM. I have a hard time believing that Pegulas would bring someone fresh into the organization and place them on top in a PoHO role. Seems unlikely.

I think they impose their opinions into the decision making process of hockey decisions. And that they expect a lot of those opinions to carry considerable weight. I think they are consistently an active part of the decision making process. I don’t think they are making the majority of the hockey decisions, but that they require almost all decisions to be approved through them. Even small ones.

At this point, I would say that this is beyond speculation, into the range of high probability, if not certainty.

Need more info on this! What does everyone think this means? Are they looking for an experienced right hand man Assistant/Associate GM for Adams? A guy to come take over as GM with Adams moving to a Pres of Hockey type role? A guy to come into a Pres of Hockey type role? Honestly, it’s probably a good development either way.

This could happen.

In one game, UPL gave up 7 goals. Other than that, he has been pretty good, no? Being a 21 year old goalie in the AHL and all.
-
I was watching too. Literally looked like a different league from watching a Sabres game. Seriously, if you put them all in random jerseys, and told everyone “this is a pro game” (Caps-Bruins), “and this is a minor league/AHL game.” (Sabres-NJ/NY), I don’t think anyone would bat an eye.
-
This does not necessarily exclude all of Sabres management and ownership..
-
What vintage is this? 2016 2%? Or is it a 2018 Skim?
-
Get out of here! What are you trying to do to us?! Have some common courtesy, would ya?

Questions that go unanswered are not enlightening. Anyway, they will speak eventually. The questions will be asked then.

They didn’t score a goal. They didn’t look superhuman afterwards. It’s not that I think it should help them score. I’m just glad that Cozens cares. And I think it does show his teammates that he cares. That’s all really. And I don’t even like fighting. It’s just that in this case it’s an expression of Cozens’ mindset, and I appreciate that he cares.

All I’ll add is that just because an act is performative, does not mean that it is void of or unable to elicit an emotional response in others.

This seems like a lot of revisionist history regarding the Eichel fight.
-
I didn’t know that. But I can not imagine what they would say that changes anything, so it doesn’t bother me. What interesting information do you think you are going to get from the GM or ownership right now?
-
You think the GM and Ownership should call a press conference or put out a public statement, why exactly? Because the team lost 3 in a row? EDIT: whoops, it’s 4 in a row. I lose track.

(1) Maybe I should have said that I have no reason to believe that Adams wouldn’t do as well as anyone else making the trade. I have no reason to believe that Adams is bad at negotiating trades. (2) Maybe you are right. Maybe having a looming NMC would not result in hardball negotiations. (3) I don’t want to trade Jack ASAP. I want the team to play well and win, and for Jack to play well and be happy. If that is with Jack on the team, great. I just fear (and personally believe) that a trade is inevitable. I believe that at some point, the team will have no choice. So, I don’t think they need to trade Jack immediately. They can see how next season goes. They could do it in the offseason. They do have some time. I just have a feeling of impending doom regarding the situation. That’s why I started the thread. I don’t think they can pull out of the relationship tailspin. And that was before the two Flyers games this past weekend. Responses really started changing after that. If you go look at the first page of this thread, responses were mixed. It did shift since the weekend.

“And all I got is this ***** story 12 years later.” But just think, if you hadn’t done it, you wouldn’t even have that!
-
Then you better hope he’s traded soon so you won’t have to hear it. 😉
-
Yeah. The stat tells only part of the story. That means it’s a lot like every other stat which exists. The numbers say what they say. They don’t tell you everything.
-
I half agree. This is a team that’s been pretty lost and listless recently. So I appreciate the spark of intensity a lot. If this was a quality team, playing well, fighting for playoff position, I would still appreciate the intensity, but I would probably say it was dumb because of poor timing. Cozens did take one of their defensive defensemen off the ice for 5 mins as well though, so it kinda sorta evened out.

These stats show that Skinner’s line played very well in the role they were deployed in this game. That’s all. If you watched the game and saw the same thing, that’s cool. If someone didn’t watch and just checked these numbers, they could learn something they wouldn’t otherwise know. Just because the numbers show something that you already believe to be true doesn’t mean they are meaningless.
