  1. Questions that go unanswered are not enlightening. Anyway, they will speak eventually. The questions will be asked then.
  2. They didn’t score a goal. They didn’t look superhuman afterwards. It’s not that I think it should help them score. I’m just glad that Cozens cares. And I think it does show his teammates that he cares. That’s all really. And I don’t even like fighting. It’s just that in this case it’s an expression of Cozens’ mindset, and I appreciate that he cares.
  3. All I’ll add is that just because an act is performative, does not mean that it is void of or unable to elicit an emotional response in others.
  4. This seems like a lot of revisionist history regarding the Eichel fight.
  5. I didn’t know that. But I can not imagine what they would say that changes anything, so it doesn’t bother me. What interesting information do you think you are going to get from the GM or ownership right now?
  6. You think the GM and Ownership should call a press conference or put out a public statement, why exactly? Because the team lost 3 in a row? EDIT: whoops, it’s 4 in a row. I lose track.
  7. (1) Maybe I should have said that I have no reason to believe that Adams wouldn’t do as well as anyone else making the trade. I have no reason to believe that Adams is bad at negotiating trades. (2) Maybe you are right. Maybe having a looming NMC would not result in hardball negotiations. (3) I don’t want to trade Jack ASAP. I want the team to play well and win, and for Jack to play well and be happy. If that is with Jack on the team, great. I just fear (and personally believe) that a trade is inevitable. I believe that at some point, the team will have no choice. So, I don’t think they need to trade Jack immediately. They can see how next season goes. They could do it in the offseason. They do have some time. I just have a feeling of impending doom regarding the situation. That’s why I started the thread. I don’t think they can pull out of the relationship tailspin. And that was before the two Flyers games this past weekend. Responses really started changing after that. If you go look at the first page of this thread, responses were mixed. It did shift since the weekend.
  8. “And all I got is this ***** story 12 years later.” But just think, if you hadn’t done it, you wouldn’t even have that!
  9. Then you better hope he’s traded soon so you won’t have to hear it. 😉
  10. Yeah. The stat tells only part of the story. That means it’s a lot like every other stat which exists. The numbers say what they say. They don’t tell you everything.
  11. I half agree. This is a team that’s been pretty lost and listless recently. So I appreciate the spark of intensity a lot. If this was a quality team, playing well, fighting for playoff position, I would still appreciate the intensity, but I would probably say it was dumb because of poor timing. Cozens did take one of their defensive defensemen off the ice for 5 mins as well though, so it kinda sorta evened out.
  12. These stats show that Skinner’s line played very well in the role they were deployed in this game. That’s all. If you watched the game and saw the same thing, that’s cool. If someone didn’t watch and just checked these numbers, they could learn something they wouldn’t otherwise know. Just because the numbers show something that you already believe to be true doesn’t mean they are meaningless.
  13. I agree that fights rarely impact the actual gameplay. I’m not fighting fan. At the same time, I love that Cozens showed that emotion. This team doesn’t have enough.
  14. Over under on total Sabres goals in these 3 Islanders games? +\- 3
  15. Head Coach and 1st Line RW Kyle Okposo!
  16. Hey look! A pulse!
  17. 9 of the NHLs top 13 goal scores are in the Canadian division. They have a mini league of Carter Huttons up there?
  18. Krieder can’t believe that his dump in attempt beat Hutton clean.
  19. There is a difference between being over one point per game and having a .500 record. What they put in the NHL standings now is not win %, because they don’t count OT losses as losses.
  20. I do hear you. I think I’m just feeling that the relationship may already be fatally broken. I don’t mind Adams either. I actually dont have any reason to think he wouldn’t do fine making a trade. If you go into next season and halfway through, things aren’t going well, I think it’s much harder to negotiate then, because everyone can see that NMC deadline looming only a few months away. Maybe they bring in a new coach, maybe, but I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion, and I would be very surprised if they made a big change to upper management.
  21. Sure, you can REFUSE to trade him, but for how long? It just becomes an impossibly unhealthy situation for the team as well as the player. It’s not a solution. Honest questions here. You don’t trust this management group to make a good trade. Do you trust them to create a winning team for next season? Do you actually think the management team is going to be changed this season/offseason?
  22. I/we are just expressing our opinions. We do not determine the actions of players or teams here. We feel how we feel, and the players/teams are going to do what they are going to do. The Sabres obviously don’t come here looking for advise.
  23. There is an argument that his current season performance is devaluing him some. I strongly disagree with the bolded though. You think they can’t get fair value for him now? How would it be when he has a NMC, publicly demands a trade, then it’s leaked out that he will only go to the Bruins, Rangers, or Islanders. Or some bs like that. Then you will see a real devaluation.
  24. I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea to trade Eichel. I don’t necessarily think it will help the team. I don’t necessarily think that the Sabres would do a good job of it. I just think that at some point in the next ~year, they won’t have a choice. I hope I’m wrong. I hope the Sabres do smart things, win more games, and Jack wants to stay. I just don’t have any confidence that they will do enough things right to make it happen.
  25. Personally, I acknowledge the unusualness of their ineptitude. It is for this exact reason that I have zero confidence that they will turn this season around. I think the players feel the same. I think Jack feels the same. I think Jack is just about done with this. Its as much an emotional thing as a logical thing. There are things they could do to improve, this season, but does anyone believe that they will correctly execute them?
