  1. No, you had it right the first time: if he “wants” to make the playoffs in 2025 but his priority is 2027, he should be fired If he’s *equally* weighing 2025 and 2027, he should also be fired. You don’t have the luxury of equally prioritizing two years down the line when you haven’t earned the goodwill from one playoff roster in 13 years and 4 already under your watch. That prioritizing of later is demonstrably handcuffing our ability to convert in the now. I don’t think that's the case though, I do think the focus is on playoffs cause I think he’s gonzo if we miss
  2. There’s not just more work to do there’s more work to do than BEFORE the draft Beck is not as good as Skinner, obviously “Just scratching the surface” is a dicey proposition and im not sure at his age I agree with that either it’s a reasonable depth piece. Spade a spade
  3. The point of it is his calling card is “in the AHL”
  4. Nah. 75% of the league is sans NMC. If you can’t, from a combination of the draft and 75% of the league pool, establish a team that’s 16/32 once in 5 years, the problem is inarguably the GM. Math doesn’t check out otherwise. We aren’t special, plenty of other teams that constantly find themselves on NMC lists. None go more than a couple years missing I agree though that it’s baloney teams won’t deal with KA. Not only is there too much evidence to the contrary, it doesn’t make logical sense: there’s no good lowballing if you come away with nothing, what’s the end game? The moment two teams are competing for an asset lowballing becomes irrelevant If there’s smoke to the “teams won’t deal with Adams” line of thought, it’s definitely because of KA’s reluctance to part ways with value Right? lol Preach It’s not only an excuse, it’s a bottom barrel excuse
  5. Can’t even give him a nickname Kleber-er?
  6. Well you know it’s the sentiment. But saying he’s focusing on a period of 2 years from now would be absurd to me. I don’t even actually think he’s doing that anymore I do think he’s trying to field a playoff team now I think he’s on the hot seat
  7. If he can be spun right now into Dakota Joshua in theory, does that mean he can be seen as Adams “big swing” this offseason?
  8. Exactly. They can’t just be lowballing him when there are other people competing for the same assets. What good is lowballing if you don’t come away with anything? In cases where there are no competitors, sure, but that’s usually not the case if it’s a reasonable asset
  9. Adams and Chevy are indeed talking. I can tell because we still only have dial-up internet in Manitoba and I can hear chevy’s modem trying to remain connected
  10. Already ready to weigh in here, gonna take a break for some cornhole - nice draft from KA. Always seems to come away with good value for his picks. Not going to pretend to know enough to evaluate each pick individually. - disappointing team-building draft weekend from KA (so far). Always seems to come away with a disappointing haul from these things we’ll have to see what he does over the next week through FA to get a sense of his offseason
  11. It’s my hair
  12. If we agree on the deadline, we are barely disagreeing at all
  13. Another classic sabres jets trade!
  14. They aren’t booing…they’re saying “osbuuuuurn” “osbuuuuuuurn”
  15. I doubt we are that far apart. Am I firing Adams right now? No. Are you firing him if we miss next season? If you are, I mean..we’re not far apart here
  16. And it doesn’t matter how they did it. Isn’t drafting open to Adams? The point is that they did it, with less goodwill player destination wise than buffalo. Chevy configured the tools at his disposal 7 times successfully I just want us to do it once The answer to that can’t be “patience”
  17. The jets have traded their first around deadline day like 5 years running lol they’ve made a multitude of impact deals. It’s the combination of several good moves to build a cohesive whole, that’s my point your arguments don’t support the idea it can’t be done, they support the idea it takes a skilled maneuverer. No one is debating that Those 2 things you mentioned are *differences* not the main difference - and those two components also fall to the GM and, again, SEVEN TIMES take it all away and say even winnipeg has an easier time because…reasons the gap isn’t 7-0 severe - - - 99.9% of the arguments in defence of this regime fall apart on the basis of the goal being utterly low We are asking for almost nothing and still can’t get it
  18. Winnipeg struggled with and continues to struggle with the exact same issues or worse, they’ve made the playoffs *7 times* after returning in 2011, and us not at all. i live here, I read the papers, you can see the “desired destination lists” voted on by nhl players: winnipeg is LOWER than buffalo the difference, again, is the aptitude of the person pulling the strings
  19. Structuring your team around “development spacing” is like structuring your Star Wars movie around the taxation of trade routes
  20. Developmental spacing lol
  21. No, my point is well made if you were keeping up with the discussion my exact point is that either way CAN work and either way CAN fail. It’s down to the skill of the person implementing the strategy
