We are looking to buy him out? Contract isn’t looking too good? WHO could have seen this coming. I ask you, who. WHOM

The air is pretty fresh ngl - - - I was always aware of the fact I never made a conscious choice to be a Sabres fan, but was rather born into it. But the drum beat of looming inevitability in the furthest reaches of my mind seemed to suggest, nay, lovingly whisper, in bone-chilling fashion, that the hold goes well beyond that, moulded by time: Fresh air? No. My soul craves the stench of the Stoner.

IMO, what I think we are seeing with Cozens, etc, that leads to some of the “we thought this would be easy!” type comments, is touched on with the bit I bolded in your post above: I don’t think anyone in the organization (aside from the fans, of course) claims the Drought. “Constantly” isn’t much of an issue to be reckoned with for this crew, players up to GM, because they don’t feel amendable to what the franchise subjected the fans to before they got here. Where as, for us, “constantly” is informed by the entire time period Not passing judgment on whether that is right, or wrong, but signing up for a long form rebuild on the edge of missing the playoffs 9 straight years provides solid evidence of it, to me. They didn’t seem to care about or factor in fan apathy: imo, again, to their detriment. For a lot of these players, it’s simply a matter of “not my problem”. The fans feel disenfranchised, I’d imagine the players do, too. Isn’t that why they stopped saluting the fans after games last year? They are, seemingly by choice, not amendable to the suffering of the fan base. They aren’t “constantly” screwing up because this is the first year any sort of expectation was levelled on them, and hell, they just won 3 games, no? -
Love you guys so much not even this franchise can keep me away

The idea that we don’t have enough to be going on to evaluate the job performance of Adams thus far is absurd. He wouldn’t have gotten credit had this team made the playoffs? Everyone would have been praising GM Terry Pegula, right? Come on now. I’m not sure when it happened, but some (but not many) have taken the idea that Pegula may be presenting certain handcuffs and run off the rails with it, with the idea that Adams is *literally* a puppet and not making any decisions. Adams is the one presenting the ideas he comes up with to the GM, Terry isn’t literally the GM. All owners have veto power. Almost all owners make their voices heard. It is literally in the job description of *every* GM to navigate this process. We know Adams had the ability to construct a playoff team under these parameters because we missed by one point a few years ago. I used to joke about “what could Kevyn Adams have even done?”. In a very hyperbolic way I was suggesting some seem to post as if Adams literally could not be held accountable for anything. That this position has moved beyond meme, and coalesced into an actual stance is fairly amusing. Oh, I’m back.

I don’t want this to be a big thing (for one: it’s not. That’s why I chose the random thread, I hope anyone who sees value in it stumbles across it, or doesn’t)…but I simply couldn’t bring myself to leave without saying goodbye. I’ve met too many wonderful people here. But, the time has come, at least for now. Though this is my last post, I’ll always value the time I spent here engaging in conversation, even if, as always, YMMV on that. Just wanted to keep it simple: thank you. And most importantly: Go Sabres. Catch you all on the flip side!

So a promotion for Kevyn Adams for a job well done and another first time GM. Status quo pr move. Please no

I’m still in baseball mode so i haven’t watched a TON of hockey yet this year and just caught the highlights from today, but from what I’ve seen, he’s one of our better players. Like he’s quite a good hockey player. What a good argument for trading more prospects for veteran players I mean he’s effectively the 2c -

Nice little win. It’s just a small thing but I like the play McLeod made on the last regular goal. He gets the puck to the right areas where good things happen. -

Panthers are a very deep roster. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we missed Peterka as much as they missed Tkachuk.. JJ was one of the only guys who looked really good game 1 imo They obviously aren’t close as players, but anyone at all scoring right now would stand out a ton on our team -

Peterka/Tkachuk is more less an even trade-off lineup relative, it’ll largely be up to Tage Thompson to captitize on the extra space Barkov’s absence at C will provide, both at evens and with the man advantage. If Tage is going to have a breakout game to jumpstart his season, today is as good a day as any -
Or getting better chances

I think we are shockingly bad relative to where we should be, after undergoing needlessly long rebuild after rebuild, and where we should be in a GM’s 5th year, more so that we are actually bad. We are way better than the start would indicate, imo we are probably still somewhere in the middle where playoffs look like a tall task but remain possible I’m sure I could be swayed by another few losses here but I still think it’s too early to say the record is reflective, not quite yet That we’d only be .5 games back of the cup champs with a win today demonstrates how small the sample size is, yet At least on this one particular season -

I might actually watch this since the baseball game got moved to noon. We’ll win this, no way in hell we start 0-4 that’s ridiculous. Quinn has his first nice game of the season, leading to a 2-goal power play performance for the team, and a 4-2 victory. -
Michael Scott was sincere

Absolutely. Do You believe icing a young group that takes longer to adjust to a new system presents a potential issue in a year the playoffs are the mandate? Or do you not believe playoffs are the mandate?
