  1. I think Deadmonton or Calgary is going to be one of the cities....I'd go for Deadmonton as they have some of the best ice in the league.
  2. My favorite Sabre ever. A remarkable talent that would be a star in any era.
  3. A young bull moose we saw on our way fishing yesterday morning. Sorry for the poor picture but it was taken from my phone. We took our limits again but overall the fish were smaller.
  4. I must miss fresh fish too. I got home and 30 minutes later the kids pulled in (haven't seen them since February). The next thing you know there are wings in the oven, Stella Artois being opened and fish being fried. Good thing the better half got home from work when she did or we might have eaten it all! When all was said and done, my half of the fish were eaten (buddy took his and went home) and everyone was full. I am supposed to be going back tomorow but the forecast is for high winds so I will put it off until Saturday. I hear the catfish are biting like crazy now so I have to get out after them too...not enough time in the week!!!
  5. A stringer full of fish. Smoke can be seen from a forest fire about 60 or so miles away.
  6. Went for pickeral and my buddy caught his personal best walleye...30 inches.
  7. He is drinking a ***** beer? Clint turned 90 yesterday!!!
  8. Manitoba has zero people in the hospital (7 deaths) because of the virus and the dentists still are not opening. There are16 active cases and 269 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19. Outdoor patios just opened and I hear they are being run smartly. It will be a LONG time before I enter a restaurant of any sort.
  9. I think I read that there is no lottery......teams pick where they finish...I think Buffalo picks 7th.
  10. Trading Mitts for Puljujarvi would be a mistake in my opinion.
  11. Quite a few teams looking for a bona fide 2C. Mitts doesn't have a 2C in his future? (Does anyone think he was rushed onto the team?) I have been hearing the same things about Monahan but the price would be very expensive. Cirelli is going nowhere. The Habs will want too much for Domi. I'd be interested in Nick Schmaltz if AZ wanted to move him. They have a lot of centers.
  12. Letting 24 teams into the playoffs is BS and nothing but a money grab. For instance, how do the Jets get the 12th overall pick and get to make the post-season. There are others with even worse records making the playoffs??? Someone said if a team makes it all the way to the end of the finals, he will be in isolation for 4 months! Crock of shat.
  13. Drai will get the Hart.
  14. One (not the only one) of the reasons Scheif is so poor defensively is because he plays the majority of the time with the 2 worst defensive wingers (KC and Wheeler) in the top 6. Ehlers is better than KC or Wheeler and I would say Laine is too. It's too bad the awards will have an * beside them this season because I think Helle will win the Vezina. I'd like to see who he has picked for the other awards.
  15. NHL throws out the contract.... Looks like he will sign it again on July 1st...
  16. Ya, it was a downer not having the full cap to work with but kudos to Chevy and Maurice. They both did a hell of a job this year with everything that went on. Some people around here hate Maurice and want him gone yesterday but here is what former assistant coach Tood Woodcroft (just took a college HC job) had to say about Maurice... "Paul gave me more than I ever deserved. This guy's the best. I would take a bullet in the face for that man, that's how strong I feel about Paul. For me to leave that safety, that was not easy." "Ken Burns could do a documentary on the stuff that happened this year. But the leadership of Chevy and Paul...there was never an excuse that we were gonna accept things because X happened. And then it was in the player's hands." He also says good friend and mentor Paul Maurice convinced him to go for it.
  17. The Jets and Buff agree on termination of his contract. He was my favorite Jets 2.0 player.
  18. Went for a ride on April 7th to a spot I know of that is usually good for suckers but not running yet (saw small northern pike in the ditches yesterday so suckers are right behind them). Took the looooooong way there. Things seen on the drive... 30 deer (20, 3, 5, 1, 1,) About a dozen American Kestrels 5 Rough-legged hawks 1 Bald eagle 3 Horned larks (many have moved on) 2 HUGE flocks of geese with lots of mallards and mucho geese besides those two massive flocks 4 Northern Pintails 3 Northern Shovelers 2 Buffleheads 20 swans I am guessing Tundra swans but haven't looked at the pics yet. (6, 3, 5, 6) A flock of 6 Western meadowlarks mucho crows mucho gulls (too far to identify which kind) robins but a lot have moved on mucho Dark-eyed juncos 7 or 8 Sharptail grouse and one was displaying...really cool...dancing on the grass on the side of the ditch and then on top off some snow and then whhen the others moved up on top of some round hay bales, he flew up there and started givin' er again!!!!!!!!!!!!!..... See this all the time in the yard at the feeders but really cool out in the "wild".....took some video but haven't looked at it yet...there were also pairs of geese flying intermittently over the bales less than 25 feet in the air...watched them for at least 20 minutes and if a car woudln't have drove by and made them fly away, I wudda stayed another half hour A Great horned owl on a nest with the mate really close by with a bunch crows pestering them (wish I would have had my gun with me to scare them off...pissed me right off) ...pretty cool ...saw a Turkey vulture on April 6th which is pretty early. Pic is a Bald eagle nest that has been in use for years and years and is still active. I would guess 4 feet in diameter and 7 feet top to bottom. I'd love to see what all is in that nest as far as skeletons and dog leashes.
  19. We went for a ride to Gimli the toher day and saw close to 80 bald eagles, five swans, a great blue heron and tons of the usual suspects like ducks, geese, gulls, dark-eyed juncos, robins, etc... Trying to get a pic to load but having problems. If it loads there were 20 bald eagles in this tree at one time. There were about 45 in the air about 600 yards to the north of this tree.
  20. Closer to 0.0183% but it would be a lot more if they did more testing I am sure. I work at an essential service in Winnipeg but live 20 minutes north of the city on a gravel road with not many neighbours. Boss phoned today and offered a layoff where I don't lose seniority if I want it (I have COPD). I will think seriously about it.
  21. Ehlers Scheif Wheeler 20.375m Connor Little Laine 19.15m Copper Lowry Roslo 6.5m Harkins Gus Appleton 3m Forwards ~49m JMo DeMelo 9.25m Slamberg Pionk 4.2m Heinola Poolman 1.7m Boolow Niku 2m D ~17.15 Helle backup? 7.6m G ~7.6 TOTAL under 74m I am assuming Perreault and his 4.125m AAV are gone. Chevy isn't giving a backup 2m believe me. The D might be different with a vet signed to a reasonable deal for the expansion draft rules but that will only change it by 1 or 2 million at most. Add 7m for Cirelli and take away Lowry's 2.9m or Copper's 2.3m and we are still under the cap with breathing room. It is the year after when Pionk and Laine re-signs that Chevy is going to have to move someone if the cap doesn't go up considerably. Chevy is pretty good at getting reasonable long term deals and cap issues....
  22. I haven't worked since the 15th of March and don't go back until the 19th of May...longer if I can get a leave of absence... Manitoba has 250 cases and 5 deaths and most are adhering to provincial restrictions. I keep up to date on all provinces and most of the states.........some are worse than others but I can't believe you know who wants to start things up already.
  23. If they start playing hockey in September, when is the entry draft?
  24. An abundance at Center? Really, enlighten me. As far as cap space goes we have about 19 million in cap space next year. I don't know where you get your numbers from but they are wrong.
  25. I like to see how much loving Randy and Burton are getting on here. Right on. I've seen Bachman, Knopfler, Clapton and a host of other great guitarists over th eyears but I would have to say Kath is the most under-rated of them all. This guy was a maestro that went off in his own world on someof is solos. I love me some Randy Bachman though. I've seen him a number of times live and LOTs on the internet. He can sure play a variety of styles. Anyone mention Alvin Lee?
