Wheeler "dropped" from a 1.1 ppg player last season to a .92 ppg player this season. Last season's D had Buff, Trouba, Myers and Chiarot on it. Take a look at the patchwork D the Jets had this season and it isn't hard to figure out. He signed a 5 x 8.25m deal that kicked in this season. He is the 7th leading scorer in the league in the last 6 seasons. The guy's missed 6 games in 9 seasons and one of the games he was sat at the end of the season to rest. What should he have been signed to? 8 x 9m like Skinner or six million dollar man Okposo?

You mean point a game Wheeler? Like I said, I'll leave it up to Chevy, he has done better than average at the draft table.

I trust Chevy and company to know who the BPA available is and if it is Sanderson, draft him. Some think his ceiling is 1st pairing D man. I'd take that over a 2C. I think the Sabres should get a very good center at 8 though.

I'm not sure if you mean the Jets or the Sabres should take Sanderson but I'm taking him before Lundell. I'd be happy to take Lundell at 10 but I'd take Jarvis over him. To clarify, I'd take Sanderson, Jarvis (2nd in scoring in WHL) and then Lundell and be happy with any one of the 3 at 10th. I wasn't trying to be snarky, I was just saying there will be a better player than Lundell available at 8th.

If we're lucky enough to draft Laf, I can see Ehlers or possibly Laine being moved in a deal for a 2C. Some people think Laf can play C but I don't know much about him. Also, 1OA could be moved for Ottawa's 3rd ++. I'd take 3rd and 5th from OTT for Laf but I expect us to draft somewhere around 10th. These points shouldn't be counted as either regular season (7 teams not playing) or playoffs (round robin teams not playing as many games).

The Jets lose Perreault to injury in a really uninspired effort. Losing Perreault might be the only thing to take out of this game. I'm intrigued in seeing Perreault's replacement. It's going to be a rookie.

You should get your eyes checked. He lifted his skate and tried to kick out Scheif's leg but came down on it instead. Would you have the same opinion if it were Eichel that got injured?

Trip him or kick his leg out from under him. He is known for slew footing. Should be gone for 20 games. I am wondering if the DOPS would do anything different if it were AM that was injured.

If Boolow is starting, your D depth isn't good to say the least. The hit on Scheifele was deliberate. His skate comes up and just misses his achilles tendon. The Jets will be lucky to win one game without Scheifele. No 1C or 2C. Tkachuk should be banned 20 games minimum. Muarice called it a dirty, filthy, intentional hit with his skate. Look at the replay, he lifts his skate, puts it down and lifts it again. No Buff, Trouba, Chiarot and Tanev to a lesser extent makes this team not very tough. The Jets aren't built for the playoffs. Here's hoping we win the draft.
