Great move by the GM. How many thought he was going to the Sabres? Hall wants to make the playoffs so if th eSabres make the playoffs, there's a good chance he'll re-sign. I'd have a 1st line of Hall- JE- Rheinhart but that's me.

https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/Roslovic-ready-for-a-change-572708031.html The one thing that stands out to me in this article is that Roslo is a natural center? One of the fastest on the team and always comes into camp and is the best in shape but he is no natural center. He did well for awhile between Appleton and Harkins but has only been average or below average when moved up to the top 6. I have to say, when he was moved up, Wheeler was his center and that is not an ideal situation. I hope he isn't moved. Harkins Roslo Apples Gus Lowry Copper is a solid bottom six. I think he is moved. He isn't happy with how he is being used. He fired his agent and hired Claude Lemieux before the season started. I would think Chevy is looking for a 2LHD until Heinola and Slamberg are ready. Dillon would have been ideal. Sabres fans are happy with their GM? Chevy has signed... Forbort 1 x 1m Sbisa! 1 x 800k Nate Thompson 1 x 750k Dominic Toninato? 1 x 700k Boolow 2 x 1.25m Mainly dollar store specials. A couple will go to the Moose but I doubt Boolow or Forbort do.

He played well just before the pause but when things started back up he was horrible. Could probably say the same thing about the whole Jets' team though.
-
Sanderson might change your opinion in 3 or 4 years.
-
I would have liked a center on a 3 year deal but I guess Stastny has some chemistry with Laine and Ehlers.....6.5m is a bit too much for Stastny as well.
-
The team can walk away from the award and the player becomes an UFA doesn't he?
-
There's a ton of stars that were said to have had poor skating. LOTS of players improve their skating after they have been drafted.
-
Maybe that Laine trade is for Eichel???

The Jets lost Buff, Trouba, Myers (their entire right side) and Chiarot and you don't think D is the priority? We had the worst left side in the league until we signed DeMelo last year. Also, Lundell is at a minimum more than one year away and he wouldn't start at 2C anyway. Lundell over Perfetti is laughable, very laughable. I wouldn't open your link because of the Sun. Nothing but a bunch of hacks. By the way, Winnipeg just shored up their D a bit by re-signing DeMelo. I expect another D added (not counting Boolow) and the 2C to be adressed after they find out about Little's situation. Chevy said they are getting info shortly. I expect Little to go on LTIR which kind of screws you because the ELC bonuses still count towards the cap and LTIR does not affect them.
-
Didn't make the playoffs; thus, we don't have to give a 3rd instead of a 4th for Eakin (useless). Really happy with Perfetti. It'll take a few years but he's a gooder. Looks to be a center. Chevy will still be in the market for a center although D is more pressing than center.

Worked a 14 hour shift today and brain isn't working...who are you talking about?
-
A better player in the juniors but the guy is 5' 9"...how many centers are that size in the league? How many #1 centers? I bet none. I'm glad he wasn't there when the Jets picked to be honest. Also shocked at how high Sanderson went.
-
Why do you think they will trade reinhart when it will be 2 or 3 years before he makes the team? He migh push him down the lineup in 5 years but where will Reinhart's game be in 5 years. As far as grabbing Quinn at 8........... people were absolutely shocked and thought the rookie GM didn't know what he was doing when Chevy made Scheif his 1st pick at 7.
-
Pegula plays center too???
-
There's 5 gms with two 2Cs?
-
Little had been the 1C or 2C since the Jets got here. I think his loss is very understated. Everyone talks about losing Buff and Trouba but what about losing your 2C? The Jets have nobody to step in at 2C and nobody in the system that is anywhere ready to play in the bigs.
-
Little had 5 points in 7 games before his injury so ya, he was a legit 2C. Lets' not forget the Jets lost the right side of their D and the guy that was playing 2LHD (4 out of top 5 starting D) before this last season started. Atlanta had zero in the cupboards... Postma and Chiarot are the only players not already on the team that made the NHL and Postma barely. The team was regarded as a legitimate contender a couple of years ago so considering what he did, Chevy, in my books, is a top 5 GM in the league.
-
Too many puffs. I meant Rask...
-
It was also his 2nd pick in that round. I don't think Vesalainen has what it takes either but I guess the jury is still out.
-
I was listing every pick. Laine was a no brainer at the draft. Lost our 2C to injury last year...I think he played 7 games. You're right, not much to discuss. I trust Chevy's judgement on not only drafting but how to build a team as well. I put him in the top 5 GMs in the league considering the market he is in. I'd imagine he'd be GM of the year for years if he were GM of the Rangers or TB.
-
Ruutu? He'd be great. I knew he was gone the day he left the bubble.
-
If the Sabres don't draft Askarov (doubt it), they should sign Holtby.
-
What would you consider a letdown? https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=120942 Not bad if you ask me.
-
I'm okay with Chevy's pick no matter who it is. He has one of the best 1st round records since he has become GM. Scheif Ehlers Connor Laine Morrissey Trouba Roslovic Heinola. The jury is still out on Vesalainen (24) and Stanley (18) but I don't think they pan out as well as expected. Not too many have drafted as well in the 1st round as Chevy has.

5 x 5m for Lehner is a bit of a deal, no? I hate Vegas...
