Krebs, Tuch, Morozov, Patrick & 2022 1st. Tuck and a flyer on Patrick gives them cap space, Krebs and an under rated Morozov for your prospects and a pick gives you 4+ assets in return. If Patrick comes around this would be a decent haul.

Curt is correct and with the ability to only jump 10 spots, they'd have to be in the bottom 12 to be included and win the lottery even if they don't make the playoffs next year (highly doubtful) but they most likely will be one of the highest total point producing teams not to make it, so chances are nearly nil and none we don't get that pick next year.

If you check the totality of the Risto-Reinhart trades you received 2 1sts, a 2nd, a GK prospect and Hagg. Not great but not nearly as terrible a haul as some would think. All but Hagg are futures and I don't think he'll be here long.

I technically agree with you but I'm not sure they really want to dump Dumba, they only have 3 signed Dmen so far including Dumba, so I'm guessing we could add 1 or 2 of our young LHD prospects (Samuelson-Johnson-Bryson) if we really want to get Boldy and Rossi ++ in return. I think both GMs are playing mind games in the media also, so I wouldn't necessarily believe much that is coming out of either of their mouths. We'll see.

It may not fit your definition of a Tank but when you trade 1st line winger Hall & Team MVP Reinhart, your 2nd line C in Stall, your team leader in TOI in Risto plus Montour and actively looking to trade your best player, Captain and #1 C in Jack E. in the last 4 months and get nothing back but futures for all intents and purposes, what else can you call it??

Well Pronman in The Athletic gave the Sabres the only "A" in this draft class, So that may be a good start to getting this team back on a playoff track because the #1 issue for this team hasn't been necessarily a lack of star/s but a complete lack of depth, hopefully GMKA 1st line of business is getting this thru which sounded like Karmanos mentioned in the pre-draft press conference they had.

Can't agree with you more on the first spot but not on the ending, developing the young guys and team is going to be priority 1 & 2 Winning won't be discouraged but it won't be a top priority either.

Wasn't blaming the fanbase, that was meant to mean who the fanbase blames. Trading your 3 best veteran players for futures and draft picks isn't trying to lose?? Tanking is a means to an end and denying the obvious doesn't get us there faster.

If as reported we are trading Risto, Reinhart, Eichel and possibly others for young prospects and draft choices are we in denial that this is the beginning of TANK 2 day?? Does anyone actually believe we'll be a playoff team or contender this coming year?? Last season was a disaster from injuries to the under reported Covid outbreak to the veteran pickups not leading the young guys to XHCRK being incapable of turning around the team after things started going wrong to the season ending Adams and Eichel and others speaking out at the press conference. Whatever the reasons Tank 1 failed and there does appear to be many questions as to who is to blame with the fanbase. On the optimistic side as opposed to the wasting of assets and the total barren organizational talent left afterwards of Tank 1 we do seem to have the possibility that Mitts, Dahlin, Cozens, Joki, Ruosto, Samuelsson, Bryson, Quinn, JJP, Asplund and Thompson and this years draft class will keep us afloat until these mythological prospects and future saviors develop. Tank 2 unfortunately appears to be starting where Tank 1 should have. This years trade returns, this years draft and lets not fool ourselves next years draft should be the start of finally getting this organization back on its feet again. We can only hope they don't fail again.

No way, he's still an RFA for 4 more years, you bridge him for 1/2 that price until he proves he deserves the big money (he hasn't yet but I think he will eventually).
