Considering Pittsburgh stellar record of hitting of draft picks in the later rounds over the last ten years, I'm not sure this even matters. I'd love to revisit this to see what future superstar they hit on with one of our 3rd round picks.

I'm old-er. And it doesn't take much to be the favorite on a very short list of disco songs I actually like. But that song is pretty killer.

I'd get on the bandwagon now. Not much else you can do for the next couple of years. I'm optimistic.

The more I think about what I saw from Jack Eichel at the World Championships - the more I think as the kid gets bigger and stronger and more experienced - and he's already great - there aren't going to be many defensemen in the whole league who can handle him. He's going to eat team's third pairing defenses for lunch. Teams are going to have to work hard to try to line match against him - especially when the Sabres are at home. Can you imagine Eichel and Kane cycling the puck? Then, if teams can get a matchup against Eichel - here comes Reinhart, except with more muscle and more experience than he has now. Yes, I believe we are going to soon be entering the golden age of Sabres hockey, despite what has happened in the last 45 years.

I'm excited to think I could be part of something that puts me in "the know". :)

He sounds kind of exciting. Plus the Sabres could dominate NHL jersey sales in the Netherlands like they already do in Latvia and did in Austria.

I bet they'd give us Perron to get that first back. I wouldn't want him, though. Not Bennett, though. If that guy can stay healthy he's a good player.

This whole topic has me thinking - how many truly "elite" coaches are there in today's NHL? Sutter? Quenneville? Cooper? Babcock? There's always fans of those teams who complain. I definitely think it comes down to players first and coaching second. Do we want too many systems? Not enough? Someone's who's tough? Easy? I think the most important trait of a head coach for the next couple of years anyway is someone who can teach and develop young players, but wasn't that Rolston's claim to fame, supposedly? We've had, with the main complaint about their style: 1. Ruff - supposedly tried to force players to fit into his "system" 2. Rolston - a big pile of glasses and mush 3. Nolan - had no use or mind for X's and O's and only relied on "compete" Is there a perfect balance? I don't know. I'm not sure the last five Stanley Cup winning coaches have much in common. One's already been fired and one is hanging by a thread, maybe.

I got to spend over a week in Gothenburg when I worked for Volvo Truck. What an amazing city. I can see why someone would be reluctant to leave. I know I was. And everything you've heard about Swedish women is wrong. They can't do justice with words on how amazing they are. Just beautiful and classy, too.

It's time to move on from the Babcock thing. Maybe his wife would rather live in Toronto. He's gone and in a worse situation, talent-wise, than he would if he came here. But maybe he does become the great Canadian hero. Oh well. There are other coaches. Good coach + great young talent + great owner + great GM - too many bad contracts with under-performing almost untradeable players > great coach + Toronto right now

I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I just didn't know where to put this. That's how I found out about this guy - I'm trying to find out when they are holding development camp this year. I happened to be in Buffalo last year and attended the 3 on 3 tournament and had a blast. I'd like to be able to plan another trip around this year - especially with Jack Eichel being there. I remember the guy who stood out to me the most, after Grigorenko, was Brendan Lemieux. He seemed to get in a fight with the coaches and kept working on his game when everyone else was celebrating the team that won. At the time, I felt like it showed "compete" and a will to win, but looking back, maybe he's just a jerk. Believe it or not, Max Willman is also someone I remember.

Gustafsson, who participated in the Detroit Red Wings development camp in 2014, finished second on the Warriors in scoring this past season, posting 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) in 38 games. Gustafsson more than doubled his point production from his freshman season, when he tallied 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 33 games. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound center was also one of best faceoff players in the nation.
