GDT: Sabres at Montreal 2-3-2015 7:30 PM EST MSG, WGR

It was awesome last night. I wore my Mogilny jersey and just enjoyed the game and atmosphere. By far the second best experience to date. -
Hutchinson has been solid and Pavelec is having a quiet rebounding year. They don't need a goalie at all. Hellebuyck and Comrie are in their system as well. Unless they are looking to dump Pavelec when he's hot, I don't see it.

In Montreal for the game tonight as it is my birthday. First time to the Bell. I'm excited. I don't even care about the game, the arena experience and getting drunk will be amazing! -
Wrong thread, voided that message. Stewart and Stafford are the obvious moving pieces. I still hope something bigger happens than the UFA chips.

No offense but when you're carrying guys like Mitchell and Flynn on the second line and Stewart, Hodgson and Stafford are your third, you know that you're A) under producing and B) Do not have enough quality forwards on the roster. This team needs to move some guys just to change things up. -

Wow, that was so freshly done. Lol, great stuff Potato. -
Forsling had a quality WJC for Team Sweden and Clendening is a right handed defensemen that replaces/balances out Vancouver's pairings until Bieksa comes back. Clendening has put up points in the AHL for Grand Rapids but has not place on the team. Especially since Ville Pokka would be called up first.

Yeah, I guess I'm drafting out of straws. He would be individually better than any of the third line talents that we have. If the return isn't ludicrous you make a valid point.
 -
I agree with all of these bullet points. I still think like you do above, that another top 4 defensemen should be added, whether youth or veteran. I also believe that another top six forward should be as well. I have mixed emotions here, I definitely see Hanzal as being a great addition, but Berglund doesn't make any sense. He's more or less a third line guy at best. I would love to acquire someone like Nielsen!
 -
The Richards conundrum really doesn't make a lot of sense. If you've seen him play this year, he doesn't have the footing to pace and the ability to be a legitimate top six player any longer. Cannon, has put so much ice time on his body, and at best is a third line center on this team or any. Is Jagr going to come to Buffalo. I guess that depends on the $, and the understanding that he's here to help mentor. He has nothing to prove, gain or improve on his first ballot hall of fame bid, other than a Stanley cup and numbers. I love the Jagr idea and Oduya would be a nice addition.

The Sabres Hockey Hotline with... somebody or other?

+1, the game in most if not all facets are hard to stomach. 33 more games to get through. -
No! Marner is extremely talented but it is not even close.
 -
Exactly, can we start waiving these guys. Between Benoit, Strachan and Meszaros I don't know if you couldn't find a college hockey UFA ala Ruhwedel who couldn't do more with the opportunity.
 -
There's devoted to the tank, and then this post. I just really want to see Pysyk for an extended amount of time. I'm really not solid on him.
 -
More of the same, hold out for 2 solid periods and then fall asleep at the wheel in the third. Further down the rabbit hole, minus one game until Connor McDavid.
 -
From a post on another website, I saw that Rinne might be skating with the team again.
 -
I see MacTavish drafting one or the other between McEichel if he's in the top 2, regardless. Hanifen would be a bigger need for their team long term, but we all know that whoever gets McDavid, the other team will draft Eichel. Konecny regardless of his lack of size, is someone I would love to have at 25 or 27. The other position can vary between White, Bittner, Sprong and others.
 -
	Love it, good work guys.
 -
+1. What will he really do for this team. He'd be an upgrade fourth line center over a healthy McCormick? If they cover 4.5M of his salary and take Hodgson, eh...maybe.

Pronman* tidbit on Top Prospects game: Not on McDavid, but one of my favorites in the 1st round. Travis Konecny, C, Ottawa-OHL Konecny was put on a line with Connor McDavid and while that will help make anyone look good, Konecny was creating in his own right. His multi-goal night aside, he looked like one of the best players on the ice, if not the best. He has great speed and work ethic, which helped him make plays in both ends, but he also possesses pretty good vision and was able to create plays for his line. He hasn't blown people away this season the way some may have hoped, but he showed his massive potential. In my opinion, even though I don't think he'll be picked in that range, he's a top-half-of-the-first-round prospect.
 -
I totally forgot about Turris, I should have looked that one up.
 -
Good stats based analysis thanks. I guess when I see him play, I see someone who has continued to develop, while not an elite player, someone who will put up or shut up every game. Moves the puck, plays above average defense and has the ability to play the second or third line all while at 23-24.
 -
One can look at St Louis as an organization who is paying their current third line center 7M while only on the third line. That just has to do with their line depth with Lehtera really stepping in and exceeding all possible expectations. I would take O'Reilly for the Sabres and run, however it depends on the ability to retain him for multiple years.

Kane and Reimsdyk, in my opinion is the clear cut answer as posted above. Kane was the clear cut #1.
