    I don't get where this idea that others are winning board battles while Jack cruises in open ice. Jack is the dominant possession player on that line and engages in and wins as many if not more board battles as Flubligno or Sam. Both their goals came as a result of Jack winning possession of the puck. The problem with Foligno on that line is he thinks the game too slowly and has no creativity. Sure he'll hussle and bang but once he gets possession he usually bangs the puck blindly back into the corner forcing another possession battle. When healthy, I would like to see Carrier with Jack and Sam. Better hands better mind and equally as physical though not quite the pugilist.

    The penalty was about to expire they would be 4 on 4 until a whistle. When the pass didn't connect he pressurred the puck and when Hank calmly played it by him he was stuck and went off for a change creating the 4 on 3 situation. If he needed to get off, get off and we would have been ae to match the rush. Situational awareness. That is taught at he pee wee level. Kulikov did show any and makes a few similar head scratchers a game. Turning point? No. But I think these type of plays are what DD is talking about when he preaches playing the right way. That was a high risk low reward situation. Not a DD supporter, but I think he sees this as a problem as do. Foligno, Ennis, Dlo and Bogosian are other habitual offenders.

    But a questionable decision to chase it when Lundquist had possession and he was looking to change. The last rush became effectively a 4 on 3.

    Ghost was an overager. Much of his success was due to novelty. His raw talent is average, he is more of a product of right place right time. Long term he is a bottom 4 player. If you are giving up that much I would hope you get one of their kids who all have higher ceilings. Ghost is a sexier Casey Nelson. Their ceilings are pretty evident. That is a hefty price for a Nelson type player.

    I like this team for many if not all the reasons you potsed. I have no choice but to love following them. The first professional hockey game I ever saw was in 1970 vs the Canadiens. I understand the angst many feel. You are entitled to feel how you feel but we all should at least try and figure out where that may be coming from and whether it is worth it. But i truly believe that TPegs is incapable of dreaming small and thinking short term. While all are fallible, but I bet on track record morenoften than not. The Chinese bless the kindred with "may you live in interesting times!" No one can't say all on this board aren't blessed. These are interesting times. Always forward seldom straight. Go Sabres!

    I seldom get angry at referees but this one has me steamed. Yeah we shouldn't have blown a two goal lead. But the GT interference and the late penalty were garbage.
