    Drysdale, Perrault, Henrique, Top 2 Protected 1st and a 2nd that becomes a Top 2 Protected 1st in 2023.

    I'd be ok with that.

I know you’re stating what YOU want but these packages just don’t exist. A fully healthy Jack who has been playing and playing well gets you that. This Jack gets you … maybe two of those pieces.

I think this is substantially it.

Credit to the Titans D - they came to play. And that allowed Henry to rumble. What a beast. And he did a lot of that after one of his key linemen got carted off (hope he’s ok).

If the Bills run that final play 10 times, I think they make it 8 times. Bad execution, some bad luck.

    Squish the Phish

I don’t think Tennessee’s defense came to play. At all. Josh picked them apart. He just missed a few WIDE OPEN plays (meaning plays the defense blew) that likely would’ve finished the game. The only thing they did was handle a run game that’s never been great and isn’t needed to win games (as we saw during the winning streak last year).

  3. It appears Frazier/McDermott/Beane (some combination of the three) are trying hard to limit the usage of Rousseau and Epenesa. Both have flashed star-level talent in a game or two this season, but their usage remains low overall. Epenesa was the star of the preseason and the first few weeks ... and was a healthy scratch last night.

I get there's a gameplan element to it, but I thought Rousseau was making plays last night ... yet he had the lowest usage of any of the regular rotational DEs. He had at least two, maybe three plays where he tackled Henry by himself or at least stopped him long enough for others to finish off. Addison, meanwhile, made two nice plays last night BUT also had a couple really bad missed tackles that I don't think Rousseau misses. I think it's time for those training wheels to come off.

Frazier has them playing zone and not a single blitz.  Dumb.

They’ve been playing man all night. Linebackers seem to be sitting back to let things happen underneath but when Tremaine and Milano do it at the same time they’re getting beat. They’ve got to communicate - that was not a good drive for the linebackers.

Josh is trying to force the ball.  Take what the D gives you, move the chains and win the darn game.  Dumb.

Yup. So many other plays to be made but that’s the type of drive that could kill this team.

That was there if Allen throws it a little farther.

That drive stalled exclusively because of Josh. Had two guys wide open on first down but wanted a kill shot. Selfish play. Make the play to keep the ball moving.

  7. Tremaine has had two plays that gave me a major headache (first drive where he let the TE come to him for a first down and a cutback by Henry where he bit hard) but otherwise he’s been great again. His coverage improvement is the most notable change over the last like 10-12 games.

You can make a case that the contact Hyde made was borderline. But he made no effort to play the ball. If he turned his head doubt it gets called

If he turned around he probably picks it off but I think he actually thought the play was either over or not coming his way which is the mistake Sorensen made twice for KC last week.

He never looked back.... why was that not interference?

Because he didn’t stop Sanders from making a play on the ball. That was great defense.

Was just thinking the same thing.  We even got dinged for that same thing earlier this game.

The Hyde call wasn’t even close to the same thing.

The Bills need some halftime adjustments.

There was a discussion among some former coaches which Included Tony Dungy and another Super Bowl winner that I can’t remember and they said halftime adjustments are a myth. You just reinforce the game plan in place and all the film study you did over the last week. Obviously you’re going to stress maybe getting the ball out quicker and getting better pressure but it’s not the adjustment fans have always talked about.

Sorry for delay on replying.  Dealing w/ some family issues.

Pretty much what @Brawndo quoted Marek on.

Sabres haven't given up their claim on Pilut.  If they've not given up on getting value out of him, can't see them allowing Eichel to retire & walk away from them and into somebody else's arms with nothing coming back.

Again: not saying he would do so to become a UFA. He would do so and return under the same contract.

Good point. Even if they make it, everything I’ve read does not show them to be serious contenders.

They’re a team that should’ve been able to contend but they neglected the defense which I think has knocked them a tier or two below contenders.

    Gotcha

He would be instantly suspended by the Sabres.
Having the procedure without permission would absolve  them from any liability.
Participating in the Olympics would prove Jack can play increases His Trade Value.

    You maybe onto something

The only issue is if Jack was willing to take all the liability and potentially walk away from 50 Million Dollars, He probably would have done it already, or would do it soon

I’m not sure on the liability front if it’s a decision and surgery done while he’s retired and not actively employed by the team or NHL.

  14. 2 minutes ago, FogBat said:

Yup. The trade deadline is coming up. If he gets moved to a team that’s expected to go deep in the playoffs, that will change the postseason picture considerably.

There’s no way he gets traded. Tennessee will be competing for a playoff spot.

Marek brought up this exact scenario today on 32 Thoughts, Friedman checked with a league source who mentioned that the Sabres would hold His Rights as they would have to agree with His Retirement for Him to become an UFA, something they would not do.

Friedman mentioned it would be similar to the IIya Kovalchuk remaining the NJ Devils Property, even though He retired from the NHL for The KHL.

I’m not saying he would become a UFA.

Media reports are out there mostly because this is the most interesting off-ice story in hockey right now and guys like Friedman are paid to tell it.

Not aimed at you, but there seems to be a prevailing thought among some here that any Eichel reports are agenda-driven lies eagerly gobbled up and relayed by Friedman as he knowingly prostitutes his professional integrity in order to get future scoops.

Oddly enough, this seems to surface most frequently when he reports something that doesn't fit their personal agendas. I assume this is because it is an easy way to deflect and deny without having to demonstrate why a report is "wrong."

Like all of us, he makes mistakes, but in more than a decade of paying close attention to most of what he reports, I have generally found Friedman to be fair and professional in his reporting, and tenacious in his pursuit of stories. It's how he has risen to the where he has.

Friedman isn't sitting on a beach somewhere waiting for a text from Pat Brisson to tell him what to write next. He chases and writes stories about Eichel because that is his job. He reports what he's told - typically in careful fashion - by multiple sources around the league that he trusts and who are willing to talk to him. Of course those sources often have agendas. Good reporters - and Friedman is one - take that in to account in what they report and how.

What he reports 9 times out of 10 is going to be a pretty fair reflection of  what is out there in the industry. And if it is lacking in the Sabres perspective, it is because the Sabres have complicated his process by being unwilling to share their side.

It was reported a couple weeks back that Jack is willing to go anywhere.

This was not Friedman's opinion. It was him reporting that he has been told the Sabres feel that by waiting long enough on Risto, they maximized the return. They are applying that lesson to Eichel.

If I wasn’t such an a$$hole this is exactly what I’d say.
