Settle down, nobody has gone off the rails here or elsewhere. In fact, I haven't exerted a whole lot of emotion on this website in a long time. I plan to keep it that way. (As for the JJ thing: I wasn't alone in calling that what it was) I have no assumptions about her as I haven't seen her thoughts on the subject. The league does need to do more, but it's still not going to be a grand event. I'm unfamiliar with Vancouver's event and how they promoted it. I have a hard time imagining some great disparity between the two.

Their lineup is absolutely far superior to ours. Their talent was underestimated from the start.

It takes me making an assumption for me to say this but: You Can Play night isn't for you. Did you think they should have 50 lesbians hanging from ropes on the ceiling singing Carly Rae Jepsen? It's not really a grand concept event.

I definitely check this thread often to see what people think and say about certain candidates, but I giggle whenever someone shows any sort of excessive angst.

Yea, I try not to get too up or down outside of the true top picks (like 1-2). Generally there's a "can't miss/would be a historic bust" player or two in each draft. Beyond that it's really tough to judge. I do get a little more involved with prospects, but it's more for self-entertainment than anything.

Precisely. Life is stressful enough. Coaching is an area where there simply isn't enough data available to fans for us to actually know anything. I'll continue to think it's a useless exercise to get worked up over candidates. It's definitely a huge moment for the franchise but see above.

Jamie McGinn is not an improvement to this roster. Also, Anthony Duclair is another I’d add to that list.

Because this news has dribbled out of the mouths of two of the dumbest individuals in the Buffalo hockey scene but the team itself hasn’t actually said anything. And because it’s the wrong season.

Vancouver is all-in already.... and they're hardly better than us if at all. If this is the mindset the franchise has taken then the Pegulas should actually sell the team (and I'm so far from actually thinking that short of this mindset being confirmed). This is an opportunity to have some fun and get fans in on it...

Friedman and Jeff Marek have both tossed out the idea of us trading for Boudreau. No clue what it would take but there’s some people on Twitter who have been saying we should offer our late first for him. What say you? If we do that I say Fire Botterill before the trade goes through.
