  1. I'd actually worry about sending him down at this point. He's so big and strong that he could muscle through Juniors. In the AHL, he needs to learn to actually work an offense. I wonder if the answer would be to send him to the ECHL. Guys in that league are big and solid but not particularly skilled. That could let him dominate offensively while still forcing him to actually stick handle, pass, and work an offensive system.
  2. That's so diappointing (And also expensive. It might be worth 2 pounds to throw hit him but he probably threw like 10 pounds. Yikes)
  3. Cool. I didn't actually see the AMC version (I get rid of cable during the summer and wait for hockey to bring it back. Still waiting to call Time Warner) but Spike TV used to run a "chronological" Godfather in the order I mentioned above. I hated it.
  4. I'm really impressed that guy could hit Ferdinand with a coin. I know that's not the right message to take away from this but he hit him in the face from at LEAST 15 yards away. That's crazy
  5. There might be some confusion. By "chronologically," I assume AMC was showing the movie's this way: Vito's Rise --> Godfather 1 --> Michael's "fall" --> Godfather 3 I hate that. I like Godfather 2 the way it is specifically for the jusxtaposition you indicated.
  6. I don't like the chronological showing. The contrast between Vito's rise to criminal power and Michael's fall toward it is the core part of Godfather 2. Showing the film chronologically takes that out.
  7. Doesn't he own concession companies? Could they fear reprisal in the form of rate increases or something like that?
  8. I know Hamilton played in the Bell Centre in Montreal. Also, not every AHL franchise is this close to the parent. It takes a person longer to get from Queens to the Bronx then it does to get from Downtown Rochester to Downtown Buffalo.
  9. Last Friday, he played a pretty decent physical game in front of the Albany net. Their were two quality tips from him that the Devils' goalie saved. Anyone who had hopes of Joe Finley turning into a regular NHLer needs to let them go. He's getting skated around right now. It wasn't so bad last year but now that the NHL guys are playing in the AHL he's really struggling. Still plays a nice physical game, and once the lockout ends he should be a lot better. Also for anyone who is interested, a gentleman who posts at Lets Go Amerks has a great youtube channel that includes most Amerks games. It's only the highlights of the games, but it's better than nothing for people who can't make it to Rochester.
  10. This argument is not based in reality. They played zero FCS teams . They beat nine bowl eligible teams. They beat two BCS teams, both of whom are still alive to be conference champions. Based on what evidence do you "highly doubt" that? LSU is ranked #7 which is one rank higher than Stanford's #8. S. Carolina is ranked #10 which is one rank higher than Oklahoma's #11. You mean to tell me ND could beat #8 and #11 but couldn't beat #7 and #10?
  11. Notre Dame 12-0 and on their way to Miami. Let's Go Irish!
  12. I was just talking about this after his excellent game on Friday. He's faster than a great majority of the league but I can't tell if he's fast enough to play in the NHL and have the same game. Utica is a quick team and he seemed just as fast so I guess he's got a shot.
  13. I like CFL football. I don't knwo much about it, but I always find it intersting. The rule changes from the American game really increase the fun for me. I watch so many athletic NFL quarterbacks allow themselves to become second or third stringers when they could go to the CFL when they could be dominating in Canada. Oh well...money I suppose.
  14. I agree. They got $360 million from the taxpayers for the new ballpark and they aren't even trying to field a competitive team. That's really, really crappy.
  15. The Blue Jays traded Yunel Escobar and prospects to Miami for Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, and Emilio Bonifacio. As a Blue Jays fan, I am ecstatic. Buehrle really fills a hole at starting pitcher the Blue Jays have been needing. They are still going to win with offense, but the pitching quality just went sky high.
  16. While we're on the topic of Meditarrean countries losing their minds: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/sep/28/greek-police-victims-neo-nazi Greek police are referring victims of crimes to the Golden Dawn (read: Neo Nazi party). This Golden Dawn party is gaining a serious amount of steam in Greece.
  17. Exactly. But it is a gigantic step in the correct direction.
  18. Touche sir. I will say that we are two years away from a 4 game playoff. That's a start at least.
  19. I don't think they are a long shot at all. Wake Forest is very beatable. I'd go as far as to say they cannot beat ND unless ND decides to give them the game (like they almost did to Pitt). That leaves USC. The Trojans have a great offense, but the ND defense has shut down Oklahoma and Stanford. Both of those teams have offenses that are as efficient as SC's (USC is averaging 42 points per game. OU is averaging 42 not including the ND game, Stanford is averaging 30 not including the ND game.). Really that game will be determined by ND's offense versus USC's defense--a matchup that favors ND. USC can defintely beat ND, but in no way is ND a long shot to go undefeated. Thanks. I didn't realize Florida was officially eliminated from the SEC title game. Yes. A 12-1 Georgia team definetly gets in the title game over a 11-1 K State team or a 11-1 ND team. I'm pretty sure they would get in over a 12-1 Oregon team, but if Oregon's only loss is a one point loss in the Pac-12 title game it could be close (In my opinion, with all else equal, you put a Conference winner in over a Conference runner up every time).
  20. Not if K-State, Oregon, and/or Notre Dame are still undefeated. At 12-0 (13-0 for Oregon), all will have a better case than a 12-1 Alabama team. Let's look at the resumes if all these things happen: 1. Kansas State will have victories against three current Top 25 teams: Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas 2. Oregon will have victories against three current Top 25 teams: Stanford, Oregon State, and USC/UCLA. 3. ND will have victories against four current Top 25 teams: Michigan, Oklahoma, Stanford, USC 4. Alabama will have victories against three current Top 25 teams: Michigan, LSU, Georgia/Florida Assuming everyone wins out, if Alabama got in over an undefeated team that would be an outrage of monumental proportions.
  21. This is 100% correct. Just so right. ND has beaten three teams currently in the top 25, two of whom are in the in top 15. They are 10-0. They should at least be #2.
  22. Am I missing something? What does this prove, and what does it have to do with the lock out?
  23. That tweet is hilarious. They have maybe agreed to resume negotiating but the place, time, and format have to be negotiated.
  24. Weren't there already questions about his effort? Juniors is so easy for him I can't believe this helps
