Is anyone super interested in seeing Brazil in the Olympic tournament? On the men's side...This is their last international against European teams before hosting the World Cup. I assume it is really important for them to have some momentum going into 2014 and this is the last chance (other than Copa America 2013). On the women's side...Oh boy. Marta and the rest of the ladies have to be itching for a Gold medal. They NEED A win Internationally. I'm hoping Abby and the girls relegate them to the lesser pedastals again :flirt:

I can't believe that. That's a lot of games for a guy who cannot skate as well most beer league players. With Ott, Tropp, Weber, and Foligno in the regular lineup there will be enough guys to answer any in game problems. And teams will know Lindy has the nuclear option for the next game they play.

I understand. You mean toughness as in physical durability, not toughness as in mental/emotional dedication. I was speaking toward the latter.

This may be a joke (Honestly can't tell), but I'm going to reply as if it's not. I'd say (as LastPommerFan implied above) that Patty's constant injuries are a result of his toughness. He blocks shots, bangs around, confronts larger men. He may not be durable, but the dude is tough.

Does he ride the press box pine most of the year? I am always confused by sending a guy up and down. I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that he would play for Amerks 4th line and then get called up as needed?

I am very excited for Amerks games this year. The signings of Porter and Mancari and the (probable) start for Girgensons in Rochester give the team some nice offensive firepower. The signings of Tarnasky and Scott give the Amerks some physical firepower :devil:

This isn't the first time I have heard fans say Miller "throws his teammates under the bus." I see why people say that, but from listening to him it seems he is one of the few athletes who, when asked "What happened?," gives an accurate desription of what happened. Sometimes "what happened" is that he let in a softie and sometimes it's a blown assigment by his teammate.

Assuming Buffalo is the team that offered the mega contract to Shane Doan (and I feel it's safe to assume it was), does your opinion of Darcy change whether or not Doan signs here? Should we be process oriented, and applaud Darcy for upgrading the teams grittiness (Trading Roy for Ott) and addressing the top line scoring (By trying to sign Doan). Or should we be results oriented, and be angry with Darcy for trading a scoring center for a goon without filling that void? Personally, I am happy with this off-season even if Doan plays in a different sweater next year. Tading Roy for Ott is an insane increase in overall team toughness. Doan would replace Roy's scoring while adding even more (top line) physical play. Once he offers the mega contract, Darcy has no control over what Doan does.
