Assuming Buffalo is the team that offered the mega contract to Shane Doan (and I feel it's safe to assume it was), does your opinion of Darcy change whether or not Doan signs here?
Should we be process oriented, and applaud Darcy for upgrading the teams grittiness (Trading Roy for Ott) and addressing the top line scoring (By trying to sign Doan).
Or should we be results oriented, and be angry with Darcy for trading a scoring center for a goon without filling that void?
Personally, I am happy with this off-season even if Doan plays in a different sweater next year. Tading Roy for Ott is an insane increase in overall team toughness. Doan would replace Roy's scoring while adding even more (top line) physical play. Once he offers the mega contract, Darcy has no control over what Doan does.
