It's really remarkable the Sabres have still not lost in regulation when leading after 2 periods with how atrocious they have played many times in the 3rd with 2+ goal leads. -

Who cares. The Sabres had their chance this year and they choked it away. -

Of course after they lose so much they are out of the playoffs they can play loosey goosey again with no pressure and go back to highlight reel plays. SMH at this team. -
The Sabres have entered the Connor Bedard sweepstakes...

I think they realized it's pretty much done now. -

They were far better at working hard to catch a team for a playoff spot than at holding onto one once they got it. Literally it was like they looked around at each other and were like "Guys we are in a playoff spot, what do we do?" And they kind of all looked around and shrugged their shoulders and ever since their play has been done the toilet. I mean even going back to right after the all star break they had a few chances to put themselves in a playoff spot by winning and they completely imploded...every single time they had the chance. I don't think it is a coincidence. -

Lafreniere has basically not improved at all over last year statistically and is looking a lot more like Girgensons than Eichel right now. Low 30 points totals and 15-20 goals isn't going to cut it for what he was supposed to be. It's his 3rd season too so he has had plenty of time to show a lot more than what he has on a really good team. Eichel's first 3 seasons were 56, 57 and 64 points with 24+ goals in all of them. Lafraniere's first 3 are 21,31 and 32(so far), with his high in goals being 19 last year. The other years have been 12 and 14(so far). Zemgus' first 3 were 22, 30 and 18. He is a long way from Eichel's level his first 3 years, he just simply isn't very good. Kind of embarassing for how highly he was touted. -
As of last night we now have a 3% chance based on point percentage after Caps and Sens win... So you are telling me...there is a chance??
-
I said 87-90 points and that was pretty much on point until this crazy implosion towards the end of the year.

Why won't the Pegulas put money into this team?
matter2003 replied to steveoat87's topic in The Aud Club
The NFL literally prints money and all of the players salaries are paid for with TV dollars. Bonuses are paid up front from the owner but almost all other play salary expenses are covered. That's why NFL teams have no issues spending. The NHL loses money for many teams. -
He tried to address it with Comrie who played extremely well last year and was 2nd in the NHL at goals allowed under expected only behind Sheshterkin. He played great his first game, then got hurt long term came back briefly and got hurt again long term and never really found his form all year. There was no reason to believe that Comrie would go from really really good to abysmal, so I can't really fault him for that one. Other than the past 2 games, Anderson has played very very well. He was 7th in the NHL in save percentage before those. Outside of a 5-6 game stretch with UPL and a couple games with Comrie those two have been abysmal.
-
Not exactly true. Up until the last two games, Anderson was 7th in the NHL in save percentage. The issue simply is that he can't play enough games at his age. But the other two, outside of a 5 or 6 game run by UPL, for sure. Typically you don't replace people who have gotten you to elite status after 17 years with no playoffs.

Crumpled it up into a giant ball, threw it in the trash can and lit it on fire. I don't care who is hurt for them and who isn't playing, blah blah blah...there is no excuse for getting your barn doors blown off every other game for the last month with increasing frequency. Adams has a lot to do this off-season because if he is thinking in house growth is going to fix all the problems on this team next year he is going to be in for a very rude awakening. Last year, I didn't want the season to end, this year after the last month I can't wait for it to end. At least I won't have to get alerts on my watch and see them down 4-0 10 minutes into the first period anymore. They talk about wanting to earn fans back into the building, well they have a real funny way of showing it putting this garbage on ice in front of them. They can f**k off right now as far as I am concerned. I'm done with them this year.

What a joke...they have given up. -
Yes! My first GDT! The NHL leading Big Bad Bruins are coming to town and that is likely not a good thing for the Sabres as they try and keep themselves relevant in the playoffs race. 3 games so far are final. All of them ended 5-2.
-
The Flyers are trash dude. Trash. The Sabres should not be losing to this joke of a team.
-
5 periods against the Flyers and 8-0 is the score. Inexcusably bad to the 2nd worst team in the NHL
-
This team is fvcking trash.
-
I have no idea why they have so much trouble with this trash ass Flyers team but they have outsckres the Sabres 5-0 over the last 4 periods of play.
-
Penalty killing killing the Sabres as usual.
-
HELL TO THE YES!!!
-
I grew up on the East Side of Buffalo a few blocks from the Langfield Projects...I've seen quite a lot worse live in front of my face.
