  1. Parsing as in taking parts out and putting stuff in? Not at all..well, other than taking out the "ummm"/pauses, etc that Murray said/did. That quote is unaltered, its exactly what he said---I went back and typed as I listened to the audio...
  2. Forgot to post this but when I was listening to the interview and heard the comment I immediately thought it was a veiled shot at Nolan, who is not an X's and O's coach... The section of the interview starts around the 12:00 mark of the interview where they are talking about what kind of coaching candidates he is looking for... http://www.wgr550.com/Sabres-Tim-Murray-discusses-Babcock/21546278 Anyway the comment was: "These coaches are pretty smart, they're very aware of analytics, they're very aware of a lot of things...I don't think there's anybody, not even the most old school guys that are gonna come in here and say 'We're gonna work hard, we're gonna forecheck hard, and we'll let the chips fall where they may.' There's way more preparation involved than that. These guys aren't stupid. This is a big job, and they come in prepared and try to wow you." I was like...whoa...sounds like a direct shot at Nolan's "work hard and forecheck hard" mantra, lol
  3. It was a really good interview...Murray was very open about a lot of things...
  4. So hard with the different eras...scoring was so much higher in the 80's and early 90's...now the defensive systems, blocked shots and ridiculous goalie equipment make it so it's like trying to score on one of those intermission giveaways where the entire net is blocked off except for an area as big as the puck with an inch of space on either side...
  5. Not when you factor in cost of living it isn't. Yeah I'd lean on the shady side...
  6. Have to, they are paying him in Canadian dollars...probably is about 5.5 million American
  7. Didn't see him stabbing Hitchcock in the back considering they are very good friends...
  8. Funny that it seems a majority of the Toronto fans DON'T want Babcock and see them as having way too many fundemantal problems for him to be able to fix...seem to think its a ploy to get Leaf fans off the focal point that their team isn't very good and likely won't be very good for a while based on lack of prospects and horrible long term contracts...
  9. They have a few nice pieces, but they are severly hamstrung by bad contracts and have nowhere near the depth of young talent we do. They are not contending for a Stanley Cup anytime soon even with Babcock, IMHO
  10. plenty of good coaches still out there, I am sure we will get one of them... wonder if Pegula's ego is bruised...he is not used to not getting what he wants.
  11. Yeah, good luck getting rid of all those dead weight contracts up there...it really is a disaster up there
  12. must be going to Toronto...reports are both he is leaving Detroit and Buffalo is out...
  13. He already said he was not looking to be the GM. And good luck trying to get rid of all those dead weight long term contracts they have up there...final say doesn't mean much when 25% of the roster can't be touched.
  14. It's all BS...Kraft and Goodell had a wink wink understanding if he accepts his penalties Brady will get his suspension reduced in half...watch it play out
  15. Pegula and cheap should never be used in the same sentence. He has shown he is unafraid of spending whatever he needs to spend to get what he wants.
  16. WTF was Duncan Keith doing standing around instead of trying to get Perry out of the crease? Dude was literally on top of Crawford, lol...
  17. Now possible reports Sabres are offering a 10 year/$50 million contract...WOW!! Detroit was said to not be budging from $3.25 million, lol
  18. It's about to go down!!
  19. Reminds me a lot of Peter Forsberg...fast, big, strong, impossible to get of the puck, great forechecker, backchecker, defensive stickwork...point+ a game player... If he can be Forsberg like, we are in for a real treat...
  20. Did you see Eichel's assist on the second US goal against the Czechs? WOW!!! Have a feeling Jeanerette will be using the "roll the highlight film!" expression quite a bit with this kid...
  21. Love the song "Slapshot" played after Ranger goals...however, the all-time best goal song still goes to the now defunct Hartford Whalers and "Brass Bonanza"...remember loving when the Sabres played in Hartford growing up so I could hear the song after the Whalers scored....
  22. I have a feeling this "generational" talent thing gets bandied about far too frequently...wasn't the same said about Patrick Kane?
  23. You gotta freaking be kidding me!!!! How many times does Edmonton win?!?!?!?!?!?!
  24. Statistics suggest he might be...both played over 40 games and faced similar shot totals...Lack had a significantly better save percentage...Miller gave up 12 more goals while facing 3 fewer shots. Lack has played exactly one full season worth of games, 82 and has almost exactly the same numbers as Miller's career average, although slightly better... Lack .917 save percentage to Miller's .915 and 2.43 GAA to Miller's 2.59 Lack would cost a whole lot less also...
  25. Appears in nearly equal playing time this season, Lack had better stats, including a significant save percentage edge over Miller(.921 to .911). Looks like Miller might be starting to fade as age catches up with him
