Zucker, McLeod Greenway in. Tuch, Rousek, Kulich out. Are they going to put Krebs on the top line? I'd assume the 3rd and 4th lines will be in tact. Maybe Krebs on the 2nd and Benson on the top line? I won't be able to see any of this one, especially with the Bills game basically at the same time. I'll be curious to see what the line combos end up being and how well Krebs does wherever they put him

Because it doesn't appear to have a unique url I can bookmark. The best I can do is bookmark the team page, but the year by year view doesn't have a sub url. It's a terrible design. Hopefully that's something they change. But if you compare the 2 links in my posts you can see that sportstrac has a sub page for the "yearly" view I use. Cap friendly did as well It looks like puckpedia is using a single page application (I'm a software developer by trade, so this is a bit of tech jargon), so likely if they want to have different tabs/subpages to be available as a bookmarks they'll have to add new logic to their application to allow for that kind of thing. It's typically not that hard depending on what framework they are using and how they manage the routing, but it requires each item get some custom handling. Of course without seeing their code I'm just guessing.

I'm not sure how true this is, but someone in a Bills group I'm in said they don't use sportstrac because while it has a nicer interface, it's often wrong for NFL stuff and a lot of its data is actually just copied from Over the cap. I'm not sure how they get their NHL data, but if they were copying from CapFriendly that could be impacted. Maybe it's just their NFL data. There has to be a decent number of people (agents mostly?) who shared contract details with Cap Friendly. Does puckpedia have those connections? Or sportstrac? I guess we'll see. Personally I rarely used cap friendly, but I liked year by year view of the roster to see what the impact of each offseason might be. If sportstrac has accurate data moving forward, they have a nice version of that (https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/buffalo-sabres/yearly). The puckpedia one (https://puckpedia.com/team/buffalo-sabres the click on "Full Roster Breakdown") is not as nice and every time I go to look for it, it takes me a bit of clicking around to find because I don't find it obvious.

Jeff Skinner rumors, trade and buyout speculation swirling
SabresBaltimore replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
I think "must trade the 11 pick" is a narrow view. Instead of trading the pick he can trade a prospect that is closer to NHL ready which may be more appealing to a trade partner and use the pick to replenish the pipeline. This team is already too young. I don't really want to add more prospects next year. I think Kulick will be good, but still could stand another season in Rochester if we're a playoff team. Savoie was stuck in Juniors and probably needs at least a year in Rochester. Beyond those 2, I don't really want any of our prospects even in consideration for this season. Either way we need to trade assets that won't help us this year for something that does. I do kind of feel like buying Skinner our this year when next year is cheaper is kind of wasted if we're not using most of the cap space, because it's going to make it that much harder to sign Peterka, Quinn and Levi in the next few years. So either there is a plan in place to spend that money in trades, free agency, or signing guys to extensions or they just really believe getting Skinner off the team is that urgent to improving the team. I do feel like him playing on anything but the top 2 lines is a waste of what he brings. If he's not scoring goals, he's not contributing. He's not going to be playing on the PK and he's not going to play defense. He does ok on the PP, but not enough to offset the lack of production he'd have stuck on the 3rd line all season. I think it's time to move on from an awful contract and there is no real good way out due to the NMC, so even if they don't spend the cap I'm probably ok with it at this point. -
It's maybe worth noting of the teams we care about here are the remaining games we have against them: Flyers - 1 Caps - 2 Wings - 1 Isles - 0 Pens - 0 Devils - 1
-
here are my rooting interests for tonight: Sabres over Canucks (10pm) Jackets over Wings (7pm) Devils over Pens (7pm), and especially not in OT since we'd really prefer both lost Leafs over Flyers (7pm) Canes over Isles (7pm) The Caps are only 1 pt back on the Flyers with a game in hand, so they could move up into Met 3rd spot. However that doesn't remove them as an issue for us, it really just adds Philly as another team we care about. But at least 1 of the Met teams (Caps, Devils, Isles, Flyers, Isles) can still finish ahead of us and we can claim the final Wild Card, so long as it's only 1. In theory it should help us as all those teams have games against each other to finish out the season. So long as they win in regulation (which is a big IF this time of year) that should help us make up ground Meanwhile, the Devils would be 1 point back on us (but still have a game in hand, so effectivity 1 point ahead of us unless they lose their game in hand)

So this was originally supposed to be on TNT last night for those of us out of market. Any idea if this will be on TNT tonight? I don't see it listed on ESPN+ Nevermind found it on the website: https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player/_/id/ac5cfc0b-9787-4a89-9b6c-fe6d6b9d31ac it wasn't showing up in the app like normal.

Jack Quinn set to make season debut, Dec 19, 2023
SabresBaltimore replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I kind of think Skinner should move off the top line if everyone is healthy. I'm also not sure Mitts should be our 3rd line center. So far we haven't had a proper 3rd line all season. I'm almost inclined to have Cozens center the 3rd line until/unless he gets back to the level of production from late last year. Although reuniting him with Quinn and JJP could be the spark to get him going again on a more consistent basis. I'd still consider something like this: JJP - Thompson - Tuch Skinner - Mitts - Quinn Benson - Cozens - Greenway Robinson/Girgs - Krebs - Okposo Jost, Oloffsson Although Benson has looked pretty good on that top line, and I might not mess with it unless either he starts to struggle or to try to get the 2nd/3rd line going. -
Jacob Bryson clears Waivers and was assigned to Rochester

Not that I'll be upset if someone claimed him, but when do we find out if he cleared waivers? Later today? -

I hope they aren't rushing Tage back, but we can certainly use some reinforcements. -
Yeah. I don't get it. Before the season they said 15 national games. But there have been several additional games added to NHLN on top of that list. I have NHLN, so it's not a huge deal to me, but for anyone who only has ESPN+ it's dumb. Plus I have no idea what feed I'll get. For one game it was MSG-B, another it was the hockey night in Canada feed. I guess we'll see if it's MSG-B or TSN when the puck drops.

Sabres anthem singer becomes notorious
SabresBaltimore replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
My college team was the Golden Knights (we predate the Vegas team), and we'd yet "Night" during the anthem. I personally don't mind the anthems. I think it's cool we do both. I'd be fine if they stopped doing them all together. I'm not Canadian, but I know the English version of the anthem pretty well after so many Sabres games. Pretty embarrassing this guy messed it up. I noticed it right away, but as someone else said, after how bad we played I kind of forgot about it. -
NHL Consider Rule changes for Overtime
SabresBaltimore replied to SabresBaltimore's topic in The Aud Club
I say they either just extend 3 on 3 to 10 minutes or do 5 minutes of 4 on 4 again. If it's still tied, then go to 3 on 3 for another 5 minutes. Get rid of the shootout. Bring back ties. I'd do: Win in regulation: 3 Win in OT: 2 Lose in OT: 1 Tie in OT: 1 -
This is so dumb. I hate if we don't touch the puck in overtime..but that's on our players..not the rules. The circling back to your own end thing is kind of lame, but not nearly as bad as the "clog up the neutral zone" strategy in 5v5 a ton of teams employ. They going to add rules to "fix" that too? Meanwhile we still have some games that are worth 2 points and some games that are worth 3. They should fix that first. Also get rid of the shootout. It's terrible.

GDT: Bruins @ Sabres - Nov 14, 2023 - 7:00pm, MSG/ESPN+📺WGR📻
SabresBaltimore replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I will say they really upped their game since Pommers: I was at Pommer's 1000 game (which was awesome for me since he's one of my all time favorites and the jersey I'm wearing still due to my other jersey being unwearable) But they only gave us these signs: -
