Out of interest, aside from being a good hockey player, what has Jack done to show leadership? He hates to lose, but that can also be blinding to the point you can't rally your troops. Even his end of year interview struck of desire to win, but not leadership
-
Summary, please? I'm out ATM so can't watch if
-
I hope ROR gets it
-
I think once you are in your seat the rules are different?
-
Yup I would trade a second for him... if he seemed willing to sign with us. I felt Vesey had decided he wanted to go to UFA and nothing we could do would stop it
-
He hasn't played in a long time now, easy to forget really.
-
Any thoughts on who is going to be this years dropper? My concern with Maker is that he gets drafted quite highly because of the potential for him to be Karlsson - if that makes sense. Without Karlsson in the league, I thin he goes mid-teens (where Karlssonw as drafted unsurprisingly).
-
McKenzie is usually pretty reliable. If he doesn't expect DD gone, then I'd be inclined not to either (sadly).
-
I actually think this might be spot on. I think Jack is struggling to understand why other players are not as opening cut up about it as he is. There is that photo of ROR still dressed in his kit when every other Colorado player had left after their loss in the playoffs, so it isn't like there aren't other players who take it hard. I don't know if Jack was more emotional in his interview because that's him or because he lost $2 million a few hours before.
-
Both are useful depth. If I had to choose, maybe i'd lose Girgs. He seems like he could maybe do better with a clean start. There was talk of him being a gym rat when he arrived and the staff having to kick him out of the training facilities. You don't hear about that anymore, I wonder if he is coasting a bit.

- he was useful last night. He is still playing atm, so can't be signed yet. Ghule and Antipin would be a nice upgrade on our D. Trade something for someone like Fowler or another young guy and we might have a decent core with Risto, Someone, McCabe, Antipin, Ghule and then two more guys filling out the 7.

Another good post. Hrm, I think you may have made me change my mind on Eichel. He is an exciting and offensively dominating player, that's obvious. I have been unfairly harsh on him, and he is really the least of our worries at the moment. I just hope he isn't our Taylor Hall and that his stretches of half-heartedly playing disappear. Cheers!
-
Apologies for the comments last night. I was very drunk. That said, I do hope Eichel puts the loss of money on his shoulders, not the coaches, and uses it as motivation for next year.
-
How anyone can watch Eichel's clean out interview and think he should get the C is beyond me. I wonder if Eichel cares about wanting the last 6 games back if his 2 points in 6 games didn't cost him $2 million.
-
He is their third best forward and plays on the third line. PPG drops the more games you play. Doubt he finishes top 20 in a full season with his Entitled attotude PPG drops the more games you play. Doubt he finishes top 20 in a full season with his Entitled attotude
-
He is a supporting piece on the third line, not a structural one Sabres fans are so desperate for a star they will hitch their wagon to Eichel - like the leafs did. The fact is until we get a true star, Mathews, Laine, mcDavid etc. We won't be in the playoffs
-
Good chat. Eichel Is a two bit saviour. Worst forward defensively and has an awful attitude The sooner we trade Eichel the sooner we right this franchise. Before the rest of the league realises the truth. He is a Phil Kessel not a Sidney Crosby
-
Best part of the season is jack missing out on $2 million for coasting last ten games. I'm so happy about that. Hopefully it's a wake up call for him. He was crap last few games I hope we trade Eichel I hope we trade Eichel
-
If we beat the leafs they would have missed the playoffs :(
-
6. Vegas is joining
-
Well its over. Here is to next year. If we beat Toronto, there is a good shot they miss the playoffs.
-
I'm mostly hoping they lose. Drafting 3 spots higher seems like a bigger use for the franchise than winning the last game of this turd of a season. That said I have no doubts they'll win
-
Was this the hardest season for the fans in Sabres history?
Trettioåtta replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
It's the purposelessness of the season. Being bad after the captains left was tough but easily explainable and mostly expected. Being bad after going into rebuild mode was hard to watch but there was the excitement of the future. This just is. There is little to no excitement for the future because the future pieces are here. In addition it is hard to watch and see Toronto follow Pittsburgh and Chicago and us follow Edmonton. -
What are the chances they play lights out and win just to our draft position? 95%?

Goalies never trade for much. Schneider was a legit starter and he went for 8th overall
