  1. We're in the Same Boat Brother By Huddie “LeadBelly” Ledbetter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MdHrcwUG6I If you can't understand the dialect, message follows: We’re in the same boat brother, We’re in the same boat brother, And if you shake one end, You gonna rock the other It’s the same boat brother The Lord looked down from his holy place Said Lawd duh me, what a sea of space What a spot to launch the Human Race So he built him a Boat, for a mixed-up crew, With eyes of Black, and Brown, and Blue. So that’s how’s come, that You and I Got just one world, and just one sky. We’re in the same boat brother, We’re in the same boat brother, And if you shake one end, You gonna rock the other It’s the same boat brother So the Boat rolled on Through storm and grief, Hit many a rock and many a reef, What keep them going was a great belief. That the human race was a special freight So they had to learn to navigate. If they didn’t want to be in Jonah’s shoes, Better be mated on this here cruise. —Why— We’re in the same boat brother, We’re in the same boat brother, And if you shake one end, You gonna rock the other It’s the same boat brother So the boiler blew, somewhere in Spain, All the kettle was smashed and 40 cranes. Steam boat out from the Oregon Main. Oh, it took some time for the crew to learn What is bad for the bow ain’t good for the stern. If a fire took place in China today Pearl Harbor just gonna blaze away. We’re in the same boat brother, We’re in the same boat brother, And if you shake one end, You gonna rock the other It’s the same boat brother.
  2. http://concernedcitizens.homestead.com/maplink_westvalley.html I do need handlers! http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/rods/fulltext/r0285015.pdf
  3. 'Cause her generation is ironic. Y'know "bad" means good. "Cool" is something you've warmed up to.
  4. So you're saying Terrance will appear? Is he, or is he not the one we want running Buffalo Sabres Hockey? I hope that someone asks him about his involvement at Getty in 1973 while they were nuking West Valley, NY, and "continued receiving nuclear fuel rods and dumping nuclear waste until 1976 when, after numerous releases to the ground and atmosphere, public concern over contamination led the DEC to withdraw its permit for discharges into Buttermilk Creek." http://concernedciti..lley.html.Ask him maybe, if Getty paid to clean up the still radioactive mess that extends as far as Lake Ontario, or if they were paid handsomely to unceremoniously transfer responsibility to citizen tax payers. See what he says. Maybe someone could ask him about his involvement at Agway Felmont, in Olean, NY, beginning 1975, where the company operated a fertilizer plant on an oil spill site using asbestos laden factories. Ask him maybe, why he left in 1983, when in 1982, in Olean, "the EPA PERFORMED AN IMMEDIATE REMOVAL ACTION WHICH ENTAILED MONITORING OF PRIVATE WELLS AND INSTALLATION OF ONE CUBIC FOOT CARBON FILTERS ON 16 PRIVATE WELLS." http://www.epa.gov/s...t/r028505.pdf. His involvement at East Resources might need a separate thread. The offseason is young.
  5. He probably hasn't recognized this matter because it wasn't addressed to Terrance Pegula. "Terry" is his nickname. I'll stand outside the court and maybe do some stretching and light booing.
  6. I agree with most of this post and actually find it pertinent. Like it or not, the FNC has become the Supreme Forum for moral debate on fracking. The day before Grand P's last appearance, Food and Water Watch held an event with local farmers in the area. It may have received some local publicity. I heard about it on public radio. I wonder if Miller has heard about the debate. I assume so. If not, I'm sure he would eventually, as would other players. I hope we wouldn't be fighting a losing battle getting big name players to come here to play. Imagine what the players will tell their friends across the league! I hope we will be able to transcend the toxicity and find that aura of positivity, that we have been craving.
  7. Where's Kaleta... (gee, I wonder), You're my Hero!
  8. Careful. There are people around here that will try to turn this into an owner thread. This is from Punch Imlach's autobiography, Heaven and Hell in the NHL (about his being fired by the Sabres) "...I heard that there was a group of players that had gone to Seymour Knox and told him that they wouldn't play for me anymore. I was told that this group included Craig Ramsey, the team's player representative, Danny Gare, and Jim Schoenfeld." (p.129)
  9. Good thing PETA wasn't around in the Sabres fledgling years. Top: Eddie Shack
  10. Hate to state the obvious, but hasn't the Penn St. scandal tarnished Nittany Blue as a color, a bit?
  11. Glad we have Miller in now, and he's not facing Brodeur.
  12. I'm watching the Sabres wear Nittany Blue. I would prefer them in traditional Buffalo Sabres Blue, some time in the near future. What's your opinion?
  13. Warning: link contains BARE NAKED LADIES (partial nudity): http://www.thepunch.com.au/articles/whos-funding-wacko-peta-its-crazy-animal-campaigns/ PETA reportedly funds Terrorism. Do they really get a contribution check box on some voting ballots? http://www.consumerfreedom.com/2004/01/2339-peta-and-terrorism-the-real-deal/
  14. The Amish, Seneca, and Buffalo Bills still trap for fur in the foothills of WNY. What is PETA's problem? Go Otter! Yeah, 3 assists!
  15. So was this letter released by Michael Gilbert, Sabres VP of Public and Community Relations, or by Michelle Cho?
  16. PETA deserves to get bashed in this thread. I have no idea where this coat story came from. Why is it that PETA found out about this coat routine faster than me, Joe the Sabre Fan? And why is this coat made of FAKE fur?, and the language in the letter so transparently air-headed?
  17. I can't recall a thing that PETA has ever, ever, ever done right, but what are the Sabres doing, wearing a fake fur coat?
  18. What is the etiquette on this word? Does one need a lawyer to say it? I think one might, which is why I have decided to avoid it. Director on the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, Lynn Helms, estimated that the first year or so of every new well would take 2,000 truck trips. (National Geographic, 4/13, p.54) BTW, this was supposed to be an UB vs PSU thread.
