  1. Are you kidding me? I've never heard of such a thing - sounds incredibly lame. It makes the A like a participation trophy for snowflakey millennials. Leave it to Buffalo to screw up a simple thing like naming a Captain and 2 Alternates. smh
  2. Typical Lehner - good stats overall, but can't finish/get the job done. That SH goal was brutal - and another shoot out loss for Lehner. At least he stopped 1 of 2 shoot out shots (well, sort of - the post did most of Lehner's work in the first 'stop') And the power plays - the Sabres couldn't capitalize on 1 minute and 20 seconds of 5 on 3, and looked especially terrible in the PP that Lehner let the softie SH in. And why wasn't Eichel shooting in the shoot out? The top scorer on the team -warming the bench? smh!!!
  3. You know, I'll never forget the day that Gailey was named HC. It was incredibly underwhelming to say the least, after some names that had been floated for being in contention. That same afternoon, I was listening to the Jim Rome Show while driving for work - Jim Rome PANNED the choice. He said "Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting the Buffalo Bills new head coach, CHANNNN GAILEEEYYYYYY!!!!" And the sound guy immediately cued that losing sound effect from the Price Is Right https://youtu.be/_asNhzXq72w I truly LOL'd! It would be hard for the old Bills ownership, management, and front office to fail more if they tried.
  4. Taylor isn't all that smart of a QB; I feel he runs too often - rather than focusing on passing, which should be the number one job for a QB after all. He's just better at protecting the ball and avoiding stupid mistakes than EJ Manuel was.
  5. Given a choice - what sort of team would we rather watch? A) A dreadful offense amazingly kept in it by a stellar defense, or B) a high power high scoring offense paired with a mediocre defense? Given that the past 18 seasons of the post-season drought have been predominantly choice A, I'd sure like to see B for once.
  6. Only 16 days 'til the real season starts on Oct 5! At least the hockey pre-season is shorter than the NFL pre-season.
  7. Yup. Defense keeps it close - offense stinks - great, Typical Bills. McDermott is a lamebrain with the clock management - just one glaring example from today - why wait until 7 seconds left on the friggin play clock to call time out? Guess what - he saved 7 seconds on the game clock with that T.O. Unbelievable. I'm sorry - it won't matter who they draft next season - if the Head Coach can't understand such a simple thing as time management, and keeping as MUCH time on the clock as possible with the time outs, this team is going nowhere. And Taylor...... 105 yards passing and 5 yards per pass. Talk about dink and dunk. What a stinkburger of a game.
  8. I'm not even considering win loss record in preseason - that is immaterial. Teams that go 4-0 in preseason have sucked in regular season, and vice versa. However, the Bills demonstrate a continued, chronic inability to put points on the board. Look at the top ten teams in average points per game in the pre-season - they're mostly the top teams from the 2016 season. And down in the sewer with the Bills... the Browns... the Jets.... Just not seeing any glimmers of hope in this pre-season that there's been any tangible improvement.
  9. This outcome was completely predictable; at least it was more of fight than when Ali fought the Sumo wrestler. LOL Boxing loves these side-show matchups.
  10. It should be pointed out that, even though it is just the pre-season, and it doesn't count, the Bills are horribly inept at putting points on the board. Only the Buccaneers and Redskins are worse - by less than 2 points difference. The Bills averaged only 11.6 points in their first 3 games, which is the 3rd worst points total in the NFL. Look at the top ten here; the teams that generally score well during the regular season by 'coincidence' are in the top ten; The Packers, the Patriots, the Seahawks, the Broncos.... The Bills are looking putrid; it's the same old story - they build up the defense, but the offense languishes. How many times have we seen that before? It's going to take years before the stink of the Wilson Jr/Brandon/Levy/Jauron/Mularkey/Whaley (and ad nauseum) era of the last decade+ washes off this team. http://www.footballdb.com/stats/teamstat.html?group=O&cat=T&yr=2017&lg=NFL&sort=ptsgm
  11. Taylor 1 for 3 for 1 yard before leaving the game with a concussion. Unbelievable - they can't even protect the QB in a PRE-season game - how will that (in)offensive line perform during the regular season?
  12. hahahaha!!!!!! OMG - wasn't familiar with the name - well, I was about 5 when he played his final post season game, so that might explain it. LOL From SB Nation: "Tittle retired from football in 1964 as an all-time great quarterback who was terrible in the postseason. He played in four NFL Championship games -- 1957, 1961, 1962 and 1963 -- and lost them all (note: there was no playoff bracket then, two teams advance to the NFL Championship shortly after the regular season concluded). He had a 32.6 passer rating through those games, completing 43.8 percent of his passes for 657 yards, four touchdowns and 13 interceptions. In three consecutive postseason appearances with the New York Giants, 1961-63, Tittle threw one touchdown to 10 interceptions for a 17.5 quarterback rating. No quarterback had ever lost his first four postseason starts until Tittle. No one would do it again until Andy Dalton did it this past weekend."
  13. Did anyone ever think how totally appropriate Brian Cashman's name is, as GM of one of the richest franchises in sports, the Yankees?
  14. Why does every topic here eventually seem to take a turn for the depressing and discouraging zone? And that's an observation, not a criticism, BTW. I'm certainly no Little Mary Sunshine when it comes to my posts either. Why? Because Buffalo?
  15. I would add in an 'e' - and write his name as JP Loseman - seemed to work better somehow. Although either way - pronounced JP Loss Man, or Lose Man. Bad name.
  16. Myself, I'm now forever biased by J.P. Loseman against QBs who go by their initials vs first names. :) Or QBs whose last names begin with Fitz and end in Patrick. My worst nightmare - a QB named JP Fitzpatrick. ;)
  17. Wonder if Taylor is playing with an 'attitude' after the team traded Watkins? We know the trade didn't make him happy. He's far from being a great QB, but he's usually never this bad. He made Ryan Fitzpatrick's 40 rating yesterday look good by comparison.
  18. Oh no!!!!!! LOL!!!!!! You really did make me burst out laughing - this horrible possibility hadn't even occurred to me. But given it's the Bills....
  19. SMDH over the Matthews injury. I mean, for his first 3 seasons in the NFL, he'd missed 2 regular season games out of 48. In other words, he's been a pretty durable guy. That appeared to be a huge saving grace over Watkins. Now he gets injured 15 minutes into his first practice with the Bills. Unbelievable. It doesn't seem possible that even the Bills could be this badly snakebit.
  20. Rex Ryan....... lol http://buffalonews.com/2017/07/26/playoffs-playoffs-rex-thinks-bills-get-despite-experts-saying/
  21. I wondered what revived this old topic. Interesting to hear some tantalizing hints at the rich and unrevealed backstory concerning PLF from Nolan. I will love to hear the full story on PLF's departure someday -it has to come out eventually - and I wager some ham-handed neophyte inexperienced nouveau-riche owners will be the villains of our piece.
  22. Great contract! It's a modest amount of money for a starting NHL goalie; and it gives Lehner the opportunity to demonstrate if he can improve at shoot outs and breakways - like them or not, shoot outs are part of the game, and a team with legitimate playoff aspirations can't afford to basically forfeit every shoot out game with the starting goalie on ice. If he can't improve - if his woes continue, we're not on the hook after this season. And Lehner demonstrated enough regulation skill that he's worth giving a one season chance to improve in this important area. Another job well done by GMJB
  23. Pomminstein Hey awesome, the Pominville double M filter still works. LOL!!!! I didn't think we'd ever see it in use again.
  24. My first thought - Captain Creampuff back? Really? Harkens to the soft old days of yore. But after about 5 seconds - I think this is an outstanding move - for sure Pominville will be far far, more productive than Ennis - Ennis will likely play even worse this upcoming season than last, poor as that was. And we have big guys who can drop the gloves and hit hard, so Pominville's lack of physicality isn't material. And a good defensive acquisition too! For Foligno? He's just merely meh. Hard worker but we had a huge need in defense. No way around it - Brilliant trade! Wild fans must be in tears - I'll have to check a forum or two.
  25. Negative. The luster is gonna wear off our shiny new car fast if Moulson, Ennis, Gorges, Gionta, and a bunch of do-nothing slugs are still camping out on the Sabres bench this fall.
