Who cares? The kid can do what he wants. It is his god given right to do what is best for him, and his family. I don't get what all the discussion is about.

I was reading this while the wife was ordering food. Her, and the waiter both looked at me like I was crazy for laughing.Alright, go ahead, name. It. If you owned the Buffalo Sabres for one day, what would you do?
For me? I'd go....
Change the jerseys to the original.
Ban advertisements on our jerseys.
Extend GMTM.
Play a pickup game with my team.
Make beer free on tap if you can name the lines, pp units, d pairs, and my secret name for my left nipple.
Bury something deep within the arena, hint at it's significance, and fill the hole with a shrine to Bob Ross
Change the name of the arena to 'WildCard's Palace'.
Make every unit of measurement in the arena metric
Make a secret tunnel in the arena for myself
Tell people about my tunnel
Make a 2nd, more secret tunnel. Keep this one to myself
Hang a banner of my face somewhere completely irrelevant, like the hot dog stand. The banner is huge, the hot dog guy is basically a ghost
Play a NHL17 tournament with a beer/game with the team.
Have Gionta pay for my steak
Give myself an indefinite parking spot, right next to my 2nd secret tunnel
Punch Jeremy Jacobs, trip Shanahan down a flight of stairs, and slap Bettman like the bitch he is
Pay $1B for Marchand. Send him to the AHL for the rest of his life, or frame him for something
Call Matthews the entire day, breathe deeply, hang up; leave caller ID on
All my friends, family, and the team play a massive nerd tournament in the arena. It's me and the team vs everyone else
Switch my team's nerf guns out for paintball guns
18 holes of Golf with everyone

I fell like Pu. Wait, I like Pu. The kid looks pretty impressive, should be a solid third liner in a few years.
-
Have heard that from many sources. No reason to believe it isn't true.
Especially for hockey players (hailing primarily from Canada, yes, Okposo is Minnesotan, not referring to him specifically) there's a lot to like about the area:
1 Easy access to Canada
2 Except for taxes, very reasonable cost of living, especially for real estate
3 Good schools (important for the ones w/ families)
4 Good food
5 Similar weather to what MOST of them grew up with
6 Infrastructure put in place for when city & region were twice as large, so very easy commutes
7 Though totally lacking "glitz," there's a lot of other stuff around to do.
That's just a quickie list.
100% agree. These are some of the things that brought me back after 20 years. Really glad I made the decsion to leave D.C., sure the money is better, but you can't put a price on your sanity

As a person in general looking out for his well being, he has the right to do what he chooses. I wouldn't expect anything different from a well educated young man.Calling pi's take on Vesey bull crap is an insult to bull crap. My favorite is his assertion that as a college player Vesey doesn't have the right to dictate to the NHL where he plays. That is precious in how utterly incorrect it is.
GO SABRES!!!

HockeyBuzz reporting Kane for Okposo, taking it with a grain of Salt. I think Kane being younger and having more upside makes this a bad deal.
-
Apparently McGinn switched his Twitter photo back to him in a Sabres jersey today.
He really did. That is funny, I would be happy to have him back in the lineup.

Lindros had Daddy issues. That was his biggest problem.Ironic that Lindros' wife is from Quebec and he bought a fishing lodge on Lake Kipawa in Northern Quebec.
He also refused to report to Sault Ste Marie in the OHL when they drafted him. Forced to trade his rights to Oshawa.
Good player but I view him as a baby as well.

We are making a come back, so glad my wife talked me into coming back home after 20 yrs. I have a front row seat to watch the resurgence. So glad to read about the positive coverage of the Queen City's ability to host big events like this....very proud as a devoted ex-pat. You guys know my roots run deep and I am very engaged like we all are here. I sense something bigger and better on the horizon, both on and off the ice

He got a lefty he liked.Trading a second pair defensemen and two picks for a second pair defenseman and one pick.

Great fighter, and draft dodger......

Allow me to express heartfelt appreciation to the men, women and families who've served our country, especially to those who've passed. My deepest gratitude goes to those who gave their lives while serving. I am forever in their debt.
Thank you.....

No Jack Eichel? He blew away the competition stats wise as a TRUE rookie this year. I didn't expect him to win, but not even a finalist?
-
Ennis looked pretty good at practice yesterday. Talked to him while I was attending the Moulson/Weber Veterans luncheon. He was in really good spirits, he stuck around chatted with all of us and signed a bunch of things for people. Good dude for sure.

You're not gonna see that. I'll say 500 at the very most and probably less than that. The reward is coming.
I am not hopeful, although I was at 3500 beginning of last season.
-
I'm hoping that 1,500 of the current season ticket holders drop due to the price hike. Then selfishly I will make the cut next year :)
-
this
Just think if Buffalo won the home game vs ARI late in the season (the game ARI won in OT and everybody cheered), Eichel would be out in the desert.
Then we'd be talking about how we missed out on both ALL SEASON LONG as we finish in 30th a 3rd consecutive season.
I am more than HAPPY with our American born, so called lesser version of McDavid. I will take Jack on this team all day, every day.

Is everyone aware of the decline in Stamko's production over the last 2 years? I am all for bringing in 40-50 goal 40-50 assists Stamkos but I am against 30g 25a Stamkos because honestly his 2 way game is mediocre.
I feel like after the season ends we should have the Steven Stamkos Super Thread.
Jack needs a complementary winger like OV has in Backstrom.
-
He might have a twitter account. You could thank him directly.
I certainly did night of the game.
-
I for one want to thank Mike Weber for the blood, sweat, and tears he gave for this organization. As a benefactor of his Tickets for Troops foundation, I can't thank him enough. He is a class act, and a type of person this city relates to. Good luck Mike, I hope you get to raise the cup this year.

4/4 sounds about right. Would love to keep him on the roster.Really? I think he does everything, hits, scores, passes, plays d. Type of player I want in my line up. But, at what cost. I'd like to say I'd do the 4\4 but I don't know much about our long term budget with having to sign Samson, Risto, Jack, etc. If we can't afford him, by by

Is it not fan voted? Seems like just a popularity contest regardless. Think the coaches/GMs should vote, or the writers. With the fan voting it is a circus anyhow.Did he back out of the all-star game yet? I hear Ovi and Toews are non-participants because of Scott's presence turning the festivities it into a clown show when it should be celebrating the truly great players in the game today.

Jack is Fine....The NHL will be fine.
I love it. I love it all. I have found all the grousing about interference this year both hilarious and exhausting.
And to watch one of our players getting mugged in the corner and still being able to make a great pass between his legs to set up a goal fills me with joy at the thought of our future in this NHL.

Ted probably doesn't know that dump and chase is a system of play. He also probably doesn't know what systems of play are.
I have watched pretty much every game this season, and have attended 12. Almost every team defensively have stood up on the Blue line forcing a dump. The times they haven't we have tried to take advantage and carry the puck in the zone. Unless we would like more odd man breaks the other way, why wouldn't we dump and chase?
And as far as challenges go why not? I among many hate the rule. But why not challenge a call?

ROR knows his time is coming, I see Gionta retiring after this coming year. If Gionta gives it to him then fine, otherwise let it ride.
