  1. "while i believe in gaudreau and people exagerrate how "poorly" gio performed i have no faith in monahan being anything but a one-dimensional goal scorer." This one is from weeks ago, so it wasn't fueled by in-game emotion ^^ the core of Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Brodie, Bennett, Lindholm, Backlund, Giordano, Andersson, and Mangiapane is very honestly top-end. And with players like Kylington, Valimaki, Rittich and Dube developing into core pieces, we've got a bright future.Monahan's sort of that guy hurting our chances by being overplayed. He's a complimentary piece but by treating him as core we've tanked our chances I've posted several quotes from off-days before the Dallas series even started. I haven't watched any Flames games this year, and a general tenor from a fanbase that has watched him years is valuable. I'm just trying to provide that tenor, and it's not pretty That being said, you're right that in the proper role he'd likely be just what we need.
  2. "Unfortunately, the player we won't see again is #13. Somehow they'll spin that line's lack of success on the winger. Never the center. He's immune to criticism." "Never found a center for Gaudreau even with Bennett in the organization." "My brother is screaming through the phone how pathetic Monahan is rn lol." Yeesh
  3. By the way, I've been hesitant to feel as strongly positive about Sean Monahan as some other posters. I think he's pretty bad off the puck. Calgary fans are describing the Johnny Gaudreau era as "wasted by Sean Monahan" right now, and are saying they "literally never want to see Sean in a Flames jersey again." If he does end up being a target of Adams, we are getting a player that's more flawed than most of us think. That said, if you find the right role (not 1C) and provide defensive insulation, he could be like Skinner was next to Jack - perfectly at home, while struggling so much outside of home.
  4. Dallas was 3rd last in scoring this year, Benn/Seguin/Radulov have zero combined points in this game, and Dallas has 7 goals.
  5. Heiskanen is a special player
  6. How can a team look so bad and so good in the same game? lol
  7. ...heh...go dallas
  8. I'm so ***** pissed I hate you so much Dallas
  9. This is Anton Khudobin, hanging upside down while being scored on
  10. 2 minutes in, Dallas hasn't completed a pass, Khudobin is literally hanging upside down in his net, and Dallas is down 3-0. I don't think these guys have ever skated or held a hockey stick before
  11. Wake the ***** up Dallas you clowns. I've seen better effort and focus in a 1st grade classroom Unreal how bad Dallas looks. holy hell.
  12. Colorado-Tampa would be like the Pittsburgh-Chicago we never got to see.
  13. Incredible how far Colorado has come since 2016-17
  14. Comments are worth reading too. We have a treasure and we must do everything it takes to keep it
  15. It depends what you're comparing "close" to. If they can pull off one move that makes the 2nd line good, the forward group and defensive group are likely each in the top half of the league. Replace Hutton with an average backup goalie, and then the team no longer has holes, and has a handful of really unique talents - a killer top line, dual threat opposite side one-timers on the PP, Dahlin coming into his own. Identities arent forged on paper, they're forged as a team goes through something meaningful together. Patching two holes on this team can be done in two phone calls and will elevate the talent on the team over the threshold that gives them a chance. I've seen these guys have a chance before, in the first 2 months of 2018-19, before roster holes caught up to them, and I liked what I saw a lot. They'll still have a lot of work to put into building that identity, but when the roster is suddenly better than more than half of the teams they play, you'll find that they'll flourish in a way that humans do when they start to believe in themselves and start to build with and for each other Just get a 2C and a 2G. Itll fall into place
  16. Mitts only hangs out with his Minny lakehouse friends
  17. With ROR on the ice 5v5, the Blues are outshooting the Canucks 55-11 and out-chancing them 16-3. ROR has turned the Pettersson line into an imitation of the tank Sabres
  18. I just wish my generational prospect looked like 3 or 4 of his peers, including those within 1 year/season of him, and never thought I'd say that at any point along Dahlin's career, yes, even early. There's something that hits different about the way that Heiskanen/Makar/Hughes are playing right now, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that they dominate seasoned NHLers in the skating department. It's creating a total package, when watching those guys, that I never thought I'd see relative to my generational prospect Dahlin has not imposed his will on a game the way I see some of these guys do quite often We can craft nuanced stories that paint Dahlin in a wonderful light, and he's really good, but it doesn't have the heart or blunt obviousness that naturally comes with once-in-a-decade-plus prospects It's eyebrow-furrowing
  19. I've never seen a team shoot pucks wide from such glorious locations at the rate Dallas does. If their hands and aim were a bit better, they'd have swept this series
  20. Is this temperamental change more likely than Tyler Myers'?
  21. Let's add another to this list this summer.
  22. I'd be lying if I said my brow hasn't been furrowing watching Quinn Hughes
  23. I doubt his talent as much or more than his commitment. I would make of him an epic summer blockbuster trade
