  1. For what Rolston has to put on the ice, I loved the forward lines last night. As each line rolled out, it was like they were a real NHL team. I am sick of watching the Sabres' "gimicky" players inserted into the line up. I like to see NHL players playing NHL hockey not lines screwed up because they have to play a fighter, or the next best thing that isn't good enough to sit on the bench yet, or the AHL powerplay specialist, or the 5'4 guy with the lion's heart. No offense to these players, but look at other successful teams, their special attractions are their star players.
  2. This is the game they win this week, which prolongs the rebuild for another week.
  3. How about the few players that actually act like they give a damn this year. Ott, Weber, Kaleta
  4. This is a part of Ruff's "system". I can remember yelling at Grier and Dumont Kotalik and Pominville still does it. It might be partial laziness, but I think there is an imaginary line in the ice these players were taught not to chase a puck past.
  5. I would love to see Stafford go, not because I don't like him or his performance. I just hope he can thrive somewhere else. By no means am I tryting to be a Stafford sympathizer, but when was the last time he actually played with a real center? And don't tell me Hecht, Leino, or even Ennis are bonified centers. Ennis is a very nice player, but he is just not a distrubuter. The best plays he makes are one's for himself. It seems when Stafford is on the ice he is constantly bringing the puck up the ice for opportunities. He should be getting a pass or chasing a dump in. I would love to see this guy get a chance in a place that has centers like Detroit, Chicago, Vancouver, or even Colorado. If Darcy plays his cards right, the Sabres may even be able to pick up a 5th rounder.
  6. Yep just two more young guys gone to ensure the dead weight less competition for their jobs. (As if there were any to begin with)
  7. I firmly believe there was no right play here. It could have been handled better, but this kid does not belong in other league right now. Be thankful Armia isn't in this position.
  8. Chara wasn't Chara until he switched teams. The Islanders (clearly not the best judges of career potential) must not have seen what they needed to in him to trade him away. I think the same may provide true for Myers. In Buffalo, he may always be an underachiever, but somewhere else? Who Knows. I truly believe this of Stafford also. If there is a decent enough return for these guys, let them go. I'd like to see someone come in to fill the spot Stafford should have earned by now.
  9. I also feel bad for all the people who were thinking they got a steal playing 50% off retail at the Sabre Store and are now too embarassed to where that gear.
  10. I'm just a TV watching fan. MSG is already part of the package I got. I feel bad for any one who has spent a hard earned dime to see this team.
  11. They couldn't even fire Ruff and the rest of the coaching staff.
  12. Yeah I seen that too. What the hell happened to this guy? I know he isn't a heart on the sleeve guy, but he has made a name as being a solid two-way forward. Not trying to deflect a puck in that instance isn't an injury thing. What is it? Even if a team were trying to lose on purpose, it wouldn't look that bad. Take the "C". It's probably only a matter of time before Porter is wearing it anyway.
  13. This team finally found their "identity". EMBARRASSING! I used to be on the Pominville wagon. It ended today. When Hodgson stopped for that shot in the third that rolled to the goal line, he somehow restarted rushed at the net and beat Pominville who was breaking to the net as the initial shot was taken. Pominville sure knows how to disappear when a game gets tough. As for the Ennis hit. It should have been a penalty, but maybe the ref thought he would do the Sabres more of a service by keeping their PP unit off the ice. John Scott on the roster continues to be a joke. I'm glad he got a misconduct before he could actually fight a real hockey player.
  14. It's sad, but if I'm a Stanley Cup contender, the most interesting name here to me is Hecht. I sure hope this the way it goes for him too.
  15. So his value can't get any worse? I'm all for trading this guy and if we would rather see a worse record this year for the higher draft pick: fine. There is no way anyone can convince me this guy this year improves this teams chance of winning. I would rather see the Brennen train wreck, although I would much rather see more of Pardy or McNabb this year.
  16. Getting Leopold of this roster is a substantial move to me. Otherwise, I have a feeling most of the moves will be made in the off season. Not to much has happened yet this season (for any teams), that makes me feel the deadline will be any different.
  17. Leopold? Why? I was hoping they were done with this guy. Maybe they'll throw him on the ice with Myers and the first line to bring back some of that early season defensive majic. You all can pick on Hecht all you want, but Leo is a proven train wreck.
  18. I can see why many people here hate Philly. I mean this team win lose or draw is interesting. Us Buffalo fans don't know what a fun hockey game looks like. Go Sabres, but thank you Flyers for putting something entertaining to watch on the ice today.
  19. Who Else?

    Waive Hecht

I don't see why you would move him. This team is obviously going nowhere this season, and he is not under contract for next. Why not worry about the players who will not be UFA's after this season. This guy is all but a guaranteed open roster spot for next year. The only forward player stuck on the bench or in Rochester that should recieve more ice time is Gringo and he can not fill the role Hecht plays.
  20. I am failing to see you're point because you are not making one. And you're welcome. Good night.
  21. Goals? Points? Tonight? This Year? Even if "chances" counted, I don't think the Sabres would have won. My point is truly this, if Gerbe is placed in the position he was tonight, then that is as loud of a cry for help as you can get. It's Ok to like the guy. I myself am not a Gerbe hater, but you may be the only person around that is going to argue that this guy is a top six forward and needs to be on the PP.
  22. Not sure what you're talking about, but ok putting gerbe on the second line is the answer. You swim with that.
  23. I give a damn too. Maybe I can be the second line Left Wing next game. Gerbe flopping around on the ice and crashing into the boards doesn't accomplish sh** If anything it took Ennis of his game. Gerbe is on the PP and the second line these are not marginal positions where you can just blow them off like a fourth liner getting 6 minutes a night.
  24. Gerbe on the 2nd line is a joke. Gerbe on the PP is a joke. It almost looked like Rolston was making a point of saying, I got nothing here please do something Darcy.
