Do we not have a general "off-topic from everything else" thread? Am I way out of bounds on this one? Is this crazy!? Speak now or forever be silent (is there a thread for this I can't remember from some reason?) I see you goofballs post everyday, but have nothing to connect to most usernames anything other than your strange posting styles, some strange facts, and some stranger avatars. Does anyone do anything interesting or study anything interesting? Lurkers...un-lurk.

Ah gotcha. I was half hoping there were other instances lol. I get where you are coming from, but just looking at this event. If a reasonable average person saw the player celebrate the way he did, would he know it was religious? My answer would be maybe. So I wouldn't fault someone for not knowing. They should be informed however definitely. I dont think there is any reason to have your pitchforks ready though :P

I'm not arguing and I am curious. But has this happened before in any manner (preference of anything related to Christianity over anything relating to Islam?) Because if there has been, then you may have a point. BUT, if this is the only case then your point is a big stretch. This is one very understandable and reasonable incident.

i re updated my post with more info. I just don't think they knew what he was doing which is understandable. Should be corrected tho I think there is zero-chance this is pro-christian or anything to do with religion tho haha didnt manuel go to one knee after the panthers comeback? Good times

I read up on and its pretty interesting. You are not allowed to "go to the ground" in a celebration unless you are giving praise. There doesn't seem to be an objective standard on what is praise so praying and "giving thanks" have been allowed. In this case, the player went competently to the ground, and would be pretty understandable if the ref didn't pick up on if he was giving praise or not. So should he have thrown the penalty, it doesn't look like it. Is it reasonable that he threw the penalty, in my opinion yes

I dont get why it is a rule (anyone know?), so tank may be right that it is stupid and should be changed. But not the refs fault

You want to suspend/fine a ref for enforcing something specifically against a rule? Players know they cannot do that and have been flagged for it before

I agree with you, but I don't know how you would go about doing it properly. You can't compare them statistically as the two eras are so drastically different. You can't compare them using the eyeball test as none of us saw them play. That's why when it comes to baseball I think you need to separate the two eras. All time greats from different eras, no cross comparisons haha. I mean trying to compare jeter to a SS a hundred years ago is tough one!

I think the true spot where Jeter should be on the greatness spectrum is halfway between where yankees fans would put him and where you would put him. His career stats and all time rank I think he is over-rated for sure, just because people rate him as a top 10 player of all time. Definitely a HOFer though

I watched the game, I thought spiller looked good today and he had a highlight reel run. If you only care about stats, he had 84 yards on 18 touches. So he passed the eye test and had the results you want. Spiller and jackson were the only two players on offense I can't complain about today. But you can have your opinion that spiller was "useless" and "unacceptable" today (only on the internet will you find such goofy exaggerated opinions....) so cool! Im not in the argue everything on the internet phase or mood right now. EDIT: And whats up with only caring about stats and then taking away stats to support your opinion? It wasn't padding his stats, it was an important run at the time

I'm sorry, i watched the game and not the box score. Spiller looked quick and solid today. The offense was a mess due to EJ and if the offense had any sort of rhythm spiller would have gotten more stats. He had 84 yards on 18 touches on a piss poor offense today as it was

Sometimes great weapons can make an average competent QB look better than he is. Manuel isn't playing competent. Real question (i forget the WRs orton has had), but has orton ever got a chance with playmakers like watkins, woods, spiller, jackson, and williams?

I am still upset over that play. I'm positive it would've made no difference as the offense would have ###### up anyways. But wow Its the NFL, you dont expect players to commit stupidity at that level

Is anyone else in disbelief on that 3 and 10 completion the texans made with like 3 minutes left that was a few yards short. And both bills defenders didnt bother to touch the texan player, so he just rolled for a first down. I sat their just in utter shock that happened
