  1. While I don't agree with it I can certainly understand that. I'd say so. Me neither. What a miraculous recovery!
  2. I had no problem with Myers' play all game long until that sequence before the Devils' third goal. Now he looks like his usual frustrating self. 90% of his problems have to be between his ears.
  3. He's been solid and had a couple nice plays and scoring ops. Glad to see him and Jochen both get rewarded for that. Why can't they just chip it out and move on? Just chip it out, get the damn blueline and reset. Hell, take the damn icing if you need to. Just stop this turnover in the shadow of the blueline crap.
  4. That non-call on Pardy was absolutely the worst I have seen this year. Horrible.
  5. Did Pominville give up on Henrique as he started to pull away?
  6. I'm sure they would. Even though it isn't accurate, especially in light of the bad call on Porter.
  7. Holy cow, the refereeing is bad today. How does Porter get called for boarding - yet the player doesn't hit the boards - but the hit on Ennis goes unpunished? Yep. And finally got called for something.
  8. What?!? Another bad call. They miss the high stick on Foligno and then call a questionable boarding call. Glad to see the refs are on their usual level of ineptitude.
  9. Reading the way the rule is written: Rule 70.2: A player who has entered the game while play is in progress from his own players’ bench … who starts an altercation, may be subject to discipline. make is sound like they want to avoid the Federal League-style "off-the-bench-and-start-a-fight" thuggery, but yeah - that was a weird situation and one I haven't seen. I swear I've seen that situation - the jump off the bench and start a fight move - happen before and no mention of that, but off the top of my head I can't think of a specific example.
  10. I vote Ehrhoff sits the first shift on the next Sabres PP.
  11. Kaleta is living rent-free inside Kovy's head right now.
  12. Sounds like the NHL-CBA version of dividing by zero.
  13. Good chance for Grigorenko there. That's all I am hoping for - to see him start to get some scoring ops. Nice work by Kaleta. Well under Kovy's skin there. Looked like Kovy initiated that confrontation.
  14. That whole situation makes little sense to me. First he was facing 10 games for leaving the bench to instigate a fight. Then they rule it was a legal line change, so no 10-game vacation. But since he was the instigator in the final 5:00 of the game, he is subject to a 1-game ban and $10,000 fine. I don't like the instigator rule, but it is in the rulebook in black-and-white and he earned that game suspension. But then he gets another game for starting an altercation right after coming off the bench, so there's the second game. This one made my head hurt.
  15. Yup. Bill Hoppe ‏@BillHoppeNHL #Sabres Vanek out, Flynn, Foligno in, Scott out #Buffalo
  16. Zolnierczyck involved in another questionable (at best) hit in the Flyers-Sens game. Should draw a suspension.
  17. For the GMs, sure. But that's not the angle I was thinking of. If you're an Avs player, and you see that the Avs have repeatedly mismanaged and bungled negotiations more often than not before shipping guys out, and now you see that the Avs took a hardline stance with one of your top young players, causing him to miss 40% of the season because you refused to negotiate and dragged your feet on making a trade and then you match the offer....I am just thinking that the Avs players are going to look around and wonder if the front office has any sort of a clue or plan.
  18. Yeah. This seems like blatant mismanagement of a value asset. What message does it send to the rest of the Avs' dressing room?
