  1. Wouldn't it make more sense to trade Myers in a deal for Eberle. Someone who would immediately upgrade the top six and really there is barely no difference in the cap hits between the two. To me that's a more likely scenario. Unless TMGM is in love with two of the Bennett, Reinhart, Draisaitl group. Trading Myers for Eberle and then taking one of those three and Ekblad...makes some sense possibly.

Not really interested in picking anyone up from that perpetual loserteam tbh :D

And if they want myers its starts with RNH or Hall, eberle just doesn't cut it.

  2. How i see what will happen next two years.

    2014

Murray will pick Bennet or Draisaitl, two guys whom can play wing/center and slot next to Grigorenko or Hodgson. if hodgson or grigs fail they can take the center spot.

Resign Ott and sign Callahan in the offseason.

    2015

Tank is still on, get another top5 pick in 2015, and sign patrick kane offseason.

Defense wise nothing will change, because nobody will pay the myers asking price and erhoffs recapture penalty is to scary to let him go to another team.

    In two years 2016

    Bennet/Draisaitl - Grigorenko - Kane

Ennis - Hodgson - callahan <----- 2015 1st round pick probably will replace Ennis or Hodgson here.

    Deslauriers - Girgensons - Conacher

    Carrier - Ott - Foligno / larsson / Flynn

    Myers - Zadorov

    Erhoff - Ristolainen

    Ruhwedel - Pysyk

    Goalie

    Neuvirth

Enroth - will probably get traded and be replaced by Ullmark.

An yes i have high hopes still for Grigorenko, More than for Ennis or Hodgson still being here in two years to be honest.

  3. Liger seems a bit out of touch with this draft.

Claimed that Reinhart is as good as MacKinnon and that Dal Colle could play an have an impact immediately. Reinhart is the only player, by most accounts, that would be able to step in immediately from this draft.

I'm probably one of few, but i grade bennet and Draisaitl higher than reinhart, and i hope murray sees that to. Then again i've only seen limited play of them all so :P

  4. So a team isn't allowed to sell off their failed veteran core in an effort to maximize assets and rebuild with a younger more talented core? What were the Sabres supposed to do? Hover at 8-12th for another 5-7 years and hope they get lucky?

To me it is obvious that the Sabres are tanking because they recognized they couldn't win a cup with the vets they had and their best chance of doing it was getting and developing good young talent.

Those vets brought them close to the final though :D

  5. The two firsts are what hold value in the suggested deal. It'd be a top three pick this year, a high pick this year (albeit not as high with Tavares in the fold), an extremely capable and underrated around these parts forward in Ennis and a good young player in Hodgson or Grigorenko. Not would still take more, but the firsts would obviously be big.

If the deal were to ever be even considered then it'd probably be something like...

Two firsts, Myers, Ennis and one of Risto/Zadorov. Possibly a bit more.

You underestimate how good Myers is, I consider him to be only slight less of the worth JT has.

So to me it wouldn't take more than Myers + hodgson + Islanders 2014 1st back.

  6. Semantics aside, Girgs potential doesn't land him on a top line in the NHL. He just doesn't have the hands. He'll be a solid energy and third line guy for 15 years who can occasionally slide onto a scoring line.

Yup the same spot i see conacher take on a good team.
