For all the that guys are able to get away with in the playoffs, binary penalties like delay of game, playing the puck with the hand, and sticks breaking are all so stupid.

I had completely forgotten how amazing Brick was. 5 minutes into it I was already blown away by the style. Everything is so gorgeous, and a styalized noir high school setting is, like, the perfect intersection of my tastes. Yeah Looper was fine, but very geared toward mainstream audiences. It paid off in a big way, though. 30 mil budget, 176 mil grossed. With that, and directing Star Wars 8, Rian Johnson can basically do whatever he wants forever. I really hope he comes back and directs an episode or 2 of Better Call Saul. Dunkirk is being made by Christopher Nolan, so it won't be Bay-like. It will be really long and really serious. Count me out.

There's a lot of classic films I still haven't seen. But I'm knocking them down one by one. The scene where everyone's laughing and sharing their injuries is so amazing, especially when it leads into the captain's war story. Chilling. I try, but it's so depressing I've only seen the first few episodes. I absolutely love Will Arnett and Aaron Paul so I aught to get around to it.

The coach not being able to get the players to buy into the system is not a point in his favor, which is another argument you've ignored all year. Yaaaawwwwwwnnnn

Watched 3 movies today. Jaws (1975) Steven Spielberg, first time watch. Incredible 2nd half. Brick (2006) Rian Johnson, first rewatch. One of the top five films I've ever seen. Looper (2012) Rian Johnson, first time watch. Eh, it's pretty good.

I'm very optimistic about the Sabres next year so long as Bylsma is gone. And I don't think anybody is expecting O'Reilly to be the #1 center with Jack on the team.

And Matthews's fancy stats are better? I saw a psychedelic sphincter the other week that suggested otherwise.

Matthews is a better finisher, is better up close, and is better defensively. Eichel drives possession better. Eichel gains the zone better. Eichel is the better playmaker. At this point, I take Eichel because his effect on the transition game is enough to single-handedly change the offensive profile of a team. But Matthews is still in his rookie season and could absolutely surpass Eichel. I'm just glad that they're both going to be on team USA for whenever the Olympics happen again.
