Both sides have been well documented in this thread. I want to watch the team play well, but if they aren't going to make the playoffs then sell, sell, sell. At this point I would be a seller, but the team is slowly changing my mind. Can't drop two points in Florida or you have to sell.

One of my favorites. Shot totals tell me Miller stole one, but our D kept the shots to the outside quite well. Miller was still very sharp (obviously). Ennis was being taken out of the game pretty well, but the pure talent on that line resulted in at least one goal (a pretty one, too). Leino still looks real good. He'll get that first goal soon. Really nice to have Wannik back. -
Nash getting nothing is a GD joke. Unbelievable. You're allowed to head hunt players that have just shot and have no reason to expect a hit from behind as long as you play for Shanny's old team. What. The. F*ck.

He reminds me of a young Wayne Gretzky.

I waited almost a day after the game to post so I wouldn't be too positive. Take that, Eleven :P Awesome to see them hustle for a good chunk of the game. Miller played okay. Enroth likely will play better to close out the season because it means way more to him to win now than Miller. Rolston may choose to ride the hot hand or he may stick with Miller. It'll be interesting to see what he does. Ville Leino has looked really good so far. When he picked up the puck in the defensive zone I said "Ville's gonna skate through everyone and score." Then he almost did. ###### it feels good to have legit second line talent and puck possession. Sabres: When you go hard and skate hard all game the crowd cheers for you and you can feel good about yourselves! Yay! If the team can keep hustling, that would be really nice to see. -

Wasn't it the Toronto fan that got the worst of it last time? -
Is the beat writer backpedaling from an earlier bogus rumor?

Being jealous of Noureen... *shudder* Definitely because of.

Pommer is our biggest trade asset. He needs to be gone by the deadline or the draft. Shake the team up and acquire assets for the reload.

If you don't care, you don't have to post about it. ;) I'm very happy with our goal tending tandem right now. The fact that people are blaming our consistent starter when the forwards don't even know how to skate like they care (or like they're getting paid more than I'll make in the next 5 years (always be optimistic :P )) is mind boggling. I don't know how many times We've had to watch our goaltenders rob players that were wide open in the slot. Every single time Enroth plays a good game or two there's a slew of people who want him to be the starter. LISTEN: I KNOW MILLER ISN'T A LIKABLE GUY. You guys aren't just jealous of Noureen are you?
-
I think he was saying they would take Stafford and Ennis would be to sweeten the pot. I don't like Vinny. And he's not that good. And he's expensive. But who can blame Drane for doing drugs? Gotta cope with the season somehow (even if he knew it was coming).
-
Ott "leads by example" much better than Pominville does. Ott wont ever be afraid to speak his mind to a teammate. Let the guys that wear the 'A' talk to the refs and their team during the game. It's been so long since the Sabres have had a team with a killer instinct. I've had enough of it and I want our captain to embody those traits.

Thank you Enroth. He balled the f*ck out tonight and bailed out a lazy team that has no killer instinct. During the OT power play the Sabres had control of the puck in the offensive zone in space and they didn't know what to do with it. Everyone seemed so eager to keep passing it around the boards and circle away from the goal.. I was screaming at the them to "SKATE TOWARD THE NET" and then somebody did. Jordan Leopold skates towards the net and rips a shot. Tyler Myers (who also had an assist) is screening the goalie and the rebound goes to a crashing Steve Ott, who then topples onto Price. Please give Ott the C when we trade Pommer. What was wrong with Leopold in the beginning of the season? Thank god he appears to be back to a servicable second pairing guy who can chew minutes. He just needs to keep it up for two more weeks. The Ennis line played very well when Vanek was in the game. I hope we see that line again soon. And for the record, I'm totally fine with next year's team being young with Ott, Vanek, Stoll, Leino, and Miller being the vets. -
It might've been good for his development. We don't know yet.

Sabres will make sure that record gets broken in the first period tonight. The players may be checking out soon. :( -
Blue nailed it. Sharks aren't getting rid of the one piece they can build around. Pommer will most likely go to a contender if (big if) he's traded at the deadline.

Just wanted to add some lines I'd like to see (since RR likes flipping the lines around) Vanek - Hodgson - Ennis Not much defense but definitely the three best offensive players on the ice at the same time. The appeal of this line is mainly getting Ennis back to the wing to see what he can do with a real center feeding him. Ott - Grigorenko - Leino I wanna see this line. Why can't we just see this line? Now that we know Grigorenko's season counts toward UFA eligibility, I expect we'll see him back for a few games at least. Vanek - Hodgson - Stafford This should be a line we a see a decent amount of until the deadline. Gotta deal Stafford if we can. Ott - Porter - Pominville Sort of a checking line? Would free up for some other interesting lines and give Porter some more skilled wingers. Plugging in Flynn somewhere in the top six for a few games should happen. Vanek - Hodgson - Myers Okay, okay, this is the last one. -

I agree about trying everything, but I think Hodgson and Vanek gel pretty well. It will be interesting to see if Ott can get Pommer going and clear some ice for Hodgson to set him up. It will also give us more insight on Ennis's ability to play center. He's had bum wings for most of the season, now he has the first and third most skilled wingers on the team. This line has loads of skill, but its success hinges on Ennis's ability to distribute the puck to scoring areas. Hopefully Leino's defense can cover for Ennis a bit. -
I've also noticed something like this. My siblings and I now talk through the games when we used to actually pay close attention.
-
I'm not worried about Pominville's playing moving forward. I want to trade him to get rid of the captain of this failure of a team. He has loads of value and the Sabres need to load up on assets for the coming (likely quite exciting) offseason. Picks and prospects can always be flipped again for NHLers. Or they're ammunition to move up in the draft and draft Druoin and one of the foreign babes (oh Valery... or Sasha).
