    I don't know why you're fixating on the whole number of cups thing. Obviously it's the ultimate prize, but you have to get lucky to win it. I think Babock's never ending playoff bid is more impressive. I've liked your writing about Bylsma. He's very low on my list and it's interesting to hear why you think he's the best fit. Most of your reasons are (correct me if I'm wrong) based on personalities of our players and how you believe they would mesh with our potential new coaches. Why not leave it at that? Why does the fact that people want who is perceived as the best available coach bother you enough to create a thread like this?

    And even if we did overpay him, his contract would likely end right around the time we have to start worrying about fitting Jack and Samwise under the cap. I don't think shrader has enough left in the tank to keep posting like this. We know he's a great wet blanket in all situations, but he's sooooooo ooooooooold.

    It makes me really uneasy whenever I read a scouting report comparing Samwise to Taves. A part of me wants to get wet, but mostly it just sounds like BS. I can see him becoming a shutdown scoring center, but his temperament and style strikes me as being more similar to Patrice Bergeron. I feel like Samson would have to take being a dick lessons from Steve Ott for a few years to become like Taves.

    If a team did that, they'd be subjected to the power of the oversight committee of the Large Chamber. The OC of the LC would appoint a secret team of 4 executives to draw up a plan to help the team reach the cap floor. Once the plan is drawn up the secret executive squad sends it to the player's association, who hem and haw a bit and then approve it. Once approved, it goes to the league offices for a complete re-construction of the plan.

    I got the western final right, but it was pretty easy. If the Rags and Lightning pull it out than I'll have somehow lucked into getting the final 4 right. Unfortunately, NFW are the Rags winning it all. EDIT: On second thought, it's pretty fortunate. Just because I picked them doesn't mean I want them to win. you, Rags.

    I'm drawn to the enigma of the grumpy streaky talented player. Plus he was our best player for a while. I don't hold it against Vanek because he should've been the 4th or 5th best player.

    A couple others and I thought he had to be a little more aggressive away from the puck in the D-zone. This led to an absurd amounts of "Wow I cant believe people said he was coasting" posts.
