Because I watched him be a star of the German World German teams , the watched him grow during his year in the AHL. watched him grow this past season to the point of him being one of their best players down the stretch. Then he capped it off by being the top forward at the worlds ahead of Quinn and Tuch the kid has the “it” factor IMHO

He will be a player whom you will kick yourself if you trade him away. Game breaker , star and a fan favorite for years to come

I think he made the forward group a lot worse with that trade proposal. the streak will be over, even if they came back with the same group from last year. BUT he’s not going to do that. The D wil have a significant addition that won’t cost JJP

No way he was trading for a goalie knowing Levi was about to make a decision to sign or not.

You mean be the guy that has taken a couple laughing stock of a franchise , turned it 180 degrees, had them 1 point out of the playoffs when no one would have predicted that prior to the season. Signed a bunch of his core up for the next 7 years and seems to have hit on a ridiculous percentage of his draft picks? I’ll take Adams bring Adams every day of the damn week

I really like Jost but don’t think there is room for him im guesssing VO gets traded and Jost isn’t signed. Savoie takes the place of VH Rousek Replaces Jost Kulich replaces VO

Probably mentioned upthread but the Sabres made the finals in their 5th year or so.

we shall see. There will be a lot of teams hesitant of drafting Russians. He doesn't have good offensive stats and there are a lot of high end forwards this year that teams might be worried to miss out on. If a team views Simashev as a Defensive Dman that could push him down as those are usually found later in the draft like Samuelsson was

a team trades for VO and puts him on the top PP unit, he scores 25ish by the deadline. His new team can then decide to keep and let him run out his contract or flip at the deadline and get more than they gave up to acquire him.

what if you trade Olofsson and get a pick in the mid 20s and draft Simashev and trade away pick 13??

Thankfully Matthew Fairburn is still there … wrote an excellent article today about Eichel and the lessons the Sabres should take from seeing him and the Knights winning the cup. I can’t wait for October !!! Go Sabres !!!

I know, was trying to be funny lol All i know is that the Sabres are in Position to put out 6 guys who are 6'2 or taller (Lyubushkin being the one guy who is 6'2) if they get this off season right. which to me, would be sign Graves and trade for Hanifan and adding Simashev to the prospect pool (that already includes Noivkov and Komarov )
