  1. In general, why would another team want to get a top 5 pick? Mostly because they are rebuilding and want to get younger. So the guys they are willing to give up would be veteran players who would be on the downside of the career in a couple of years. Which is great cause the Sabres need more Veteran players BUT anyone worth a lick of salt has some sort of no trade clause and not one would be willing to waive it
  2. It's the reality. No player is waiving their NTC to come to a clown franchise. It's a hole that Terry & Kevyn dug themselves into Does the 4th overall pick have more value than Benson? Helenius? Kulich? In general I would say yes but not by a lot
  3. The type of guy you could get for trading a top 5 pick isn't agreeing to come to Buffalo.
  4. For who? I don't think I'm being hyperbolic in saying that the Sabres are on every single NMC. I think that's the key point that people who are proponents of trading away 1st round draft picks forget or ignore I would love to see a list of players who don't have a no trade , No movement or modified no trade clause in their contract
  5. I'm not proposing to trade Tage at all just questioning him as a 1C maybe Tage really is a winger? Which would make Hagens a desirable pick for the Sabres...... people will say, no you can trade for a 1C but my stance is only clown franchises would ever trade a 1C away.
  6. I have a feeling the Sabres really don't have to worry about the cap. Maybe an internal cap? Yep. I agree. Get some depth for the D and build a strong 7 man unit
  7. If you ranked centers, where would Thompson land? he is 50th in 5v5 scoring in the league, he is 115th in corsi (3rd on the Sabres) I agree he is a 1C on the Sabres but not sure he ranks in the top half of the league
  8. Why do they need to be traded? I dont understand this stance. Why can't you have 3 offensive / puck moving dmen?
  9. Out of curiosity. Anyone know if Schaefer prefers playing on the Right? odds are Buffalo won't get the first pick. is Schaefer the only one people are trading? I would keep any of the top 4 at this point Martone seems to be exactly what this team needs up front if you think either Misa or Hagens can be 1C, you keep them as you aren't getting one any other way but drafting the Dman is interesting At 17, he's probably 3 or 4 years away so I don't trade Power at this point doesn't mean I don't want to see the club improve next season. I
  10. Keep both and add another top.4 dman
  11. Yes. If only they could have drafted a guy like McDavid, Matthew's, Hughes or Eichel. Where would the Sabres be now?
  12. Is there #1 center potential between Hagens and Misa? if so, I'm pulling for that they need a #1C badly. don't think there is a way for the Sabres to obtain one except for the draft. No UFA is signing with them and only a clown franchise would trade one away
  13. But it's "when" he won the draws. Not all faceoffs are the same
  14. As opposed to?? Gilbert ? Jokiharju? It's what they have. Blame the GM not the coach
  15. Wow they held on! Kulich winning the faceoff with 17 seconds left easily the #1 star tonight.
  16. Kulich with a nice face off win too if nothing else, at least it looks like they have a legit player in him
  17. I don't think there are many on this site but I'll ask anyways are you going to renew?
  18. Why does it matter ? What real difference does it make now? Sometimes you have to take a risk terry keeping the team only ensures that you will never enjoy Sabres hockey again
  19. At some point he(Pegula) has to realize that maybe he is the problem? I doubt he will, I'm pretty sure he still thinks he is a hockey guy
  20. Gonna be tough work to fall below San Jose and Chicago but I have confidence in this group! Nothing is impossible
  21. Maybe that will turn out to be a "save" that mattered?
  22. At some point someone has to make a save not great defence by the Sabres but the goaltending has been below average this season
  23. You would hope that a team playing out of the same city as the Sabres would learn that trying to just hang onto a lead isn't the right strategy
