  1. I'd like to give KO one summer without being in ICU before writing him off.
  2. With Lindgren leaving, I'll be really surprised if Casey stays. Reinhart with speed? Sounds like a sure fire all-star
  3. IF they can play like that next season and add wingers for Jack, then I could see them contending for a play-off spot. Though I do wonder how much they amplified their effort because they wanted to win that game for their coach. though if they do get 12 points in their last 10 games, i wouldn't mind the losses coming against Arizona, Ottawa, MTL and Detroit.
  4. of note, he didn't rank Bokk and Kravtsov (both believed to be 1st round picks).
  5. I do think Tkachuk does bring a lot of what the Sabres are lacking but at #2 I would hope the Sabres are looking for elite level skill. If the Sabres end up with Svechnikov or Zadina and there is a Tkachuck type out there in 2019, then I would be open to them drafting a bigger/less skilled type player then. The name that sticks out to me with Craigs List is Hayton at #7. He is a good player and did very well when a lot of the grey hounds were at the WJC but that seems high for a 2 way center. Then again, if a team is looking for a Center in the draft, there isn't a lot of competition this year, so it could push him high.
  6. absolutely agree, if you are going to watch the opposition in any game this year - this is it.
  7. Doesn't look like Donato is going to spurn the Bruins. Expected in their line-up tomorrow night
  8. Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere but another big consideration for Casey is that as soon as he signs his ELC, he will burn a year off. Doesn't matter how many games he plays. Since he is 20 later this year. Though, I'm not sure if this will allow him to play with the Amerks or not? Thinking he has to sign an ATO deal and not his ELC deal to play in the AHL this season. anyone know for certain? Thanks
  9. Don't think I said he was going to be a good player, just that "he was one of the sharks top prospects" which is completely accurate and doesn't mean I think he is going to be an NHL star
  10. Goal #1 play .500 hockey Sabres have now played 30 games in the 2nd half of the season. Record is 13-14-3 for 29 points. Since Jan 7th they have the 21st best record in the league. Goal #2 Reinhart to pick up scoring to at least his career Avg of .60 pts/game Samson has been red-hot picking up 29 points in his last 30 games. .966 per game. Hopefully Sabres have found a second scoring option behind Eichel. Over the last 2 months he is tied for 14th in league scoring - tied with Marner, Laine, Giroux and Pasternak. Goal #3 Sign Mittelstadt, Fizgerald and Borgeon #caseywatch officially launched last night as both Minnesota and BC saw their seasons end. Borgen will continue on as St.Cloud is the top seed in its bracket. Goal #4 Trade Kane for a #1 and top prospect likely a fail but still a chance for a #1 draft pick. O'Regan was a top prospect of the Sharks but not one of the names I was hoping for. Goal #5 Nylander improve and become a point per game player Definitely improvement but still needs to score more 4G 11A in last 20 games
  11. I've always thought of Mittelstadt as the 3rd line centre and Erod on Jacks wing, until this morning. I don't see pommers having a role with this team next year. I'm hoping it's Rochester or the press box for him. The other big thing to keep in mind is that Getting an NHL ready LW in this draft is only 50/50 at the moment, so it's a bit early to have either Mittelstadt or Svechnikov on the roster. Only guessing but I would think Nylander has a lightly greater chance of being on the opening night roster than Olofsson. An adjustment to the smaller ice rinks will play a factor.
  12. Here are a couple of names you could see signing ELC contracts now that their NCAA seasons are over 1) Mason Bergh LW Colorado College. 6'0. 192lbs Ended his season with 18G and 22A, captain of the Tigers, junior Known for his aggressive forechecking game and good shot.
  13. RIt was only one game but how great would a consistent 3rd line of Bailey, E-Rod and Baptiste be for the next Release years team? IF Sabres also get lucky and draft one of the top forward prospects then Svechnikov - Eichel - Okposo MIttelstadt - ROR - Samson Baptiste - ERod - Bailey Girgs - Larsson - Pommers Nylander and Smith would have an opportunity to knock Okposo to the 4th line with a strong camp. You could even re-sign Wilson and make Girgensons even more expendable. I have to say, I'm intrigued and optimistic if this is their forward lineup to start next season
  14. And there we go. #caseywatch is officially on. Who knows which way it goes but the next few days should be interesting
  15. If Ohio State wins, th gophers need to buy their goalie a beer! ND was all over them for the last few minutes of the 3rd
  16. Princton wins in OT. Watching The Notre Dame vs OHio state game and commentator said ND has to win for Minnesota to miss for reasons I can't understand.
  17. The first domino has fallen. BU makes the tourney by defeating Northeastern Princeton leads Clarkson 1-0 with 10mins to go Clarkson scored with 7 seconds remaining to force OT. #caseywatch still on hold
  18. #theothercaseywatch. Is officially on as Boston College has been eliminated from receiving an at large bid Does Casey Fitzgerald stay or leave BC.
  19. McIsaac has been ranked anywhere between 13th and 30th and is unlikely to be available for the Sabres in the 2nd round but lets look at him anyways. 6'1 185lbs for the Halifax Mooseheads 9G and 38A in 65GP this season. From the highlights, it look like he has some offensive ability but is known more for his defensive game Dobber Propects: Jared McIsaac /LHD / 6’2 209lbs / 03-27-00 (QMJHL) : Big, strong and capable at both ends of the ice. A likely safe top four future but has seen his stock consistently drop throughout the year. Expectations were high and they haven’t been met. Recrutes.ca: I don’t think he’s better than a fourth. He has value because he can skate and moves puck. Bouchard for sure has a lot more upside because of his offence. The Draft Analyst: aren’t many defenders in this draft better at smothering puck carriers off the rush than McIsaac, who has quick feet and maintains an incredibly tight gap.
  20. the Casey watch will start tonight if: 1) Princeton beats Clarkson and 2) BU beats Northeastern The automatic bids would be: Teams ranked higher than Minnesota 1) winner of St.cloud vs Denver 2) Winner North Dakota vs Minnesota Duluth 3) Winner Ohio State vs Norte Dame Winners ranked lower than Minnesota 4) Boston U 5) winner Michigan Tech vs Northern Michigan 6) Princeton 7) winner Robert Morris vs AirForce At large bids: Teams ranked higher than Minnesota 8) loser st.cloud vs Denver 9) loser North Dakato vs Minn Duluth 10) loser Ohio state vs Norte Dame 11) Providence 12) Clarkson 13) Cornel 14) Minnesota State 15) Michigan 16) Penn State
  21. yes, sad with all those draft picks they acquired, depth should not have been an issue
  22. ESPN just released their top 10 prospect pipeline with 6 honorable mentions and no site of the Sabres. Accurate or Fake news?
  23. Here is how Svechnikov has faired Vs some of the other top prospects coming out of OHL in last few years Svechnikov's 27 even-strength goals in 43 games is quite impressive for EV goals/game pre-draft from OHL, since 2003: 0.70 McDavid 0.63 Svechnikov (youngest of these top 7, entering draft) 0.62 PKane 0.57 Tippett 0.56 Seguin 0.55 Tavares 0.53 Fabbri #NHLDraft
