oops, Olofsson
-
watching the Dahlin vs Boqvist matchup this morning and also get to see Olofsson play. He has 2 goals so far as Frolunda leads Brynas 8-3 with 4 mins to go. Both goals in close with accurate wrist shots.
-
Frolunda is playing Brynas this morning. its in the 2nd period and Im not sure I've seen Boqvist on the ice as of yet. Doesn't usually play more than 4 minutes a game in SHL. Johnny Tychonic Spotlight

w I honestly think that Murrays biggest mistake was putting Nylander in the AHL well before he was ready Trading away the 1st rounder for Lehner was really poor but potentially ruining the 8th pick overall is worse

Please give the Sabres a top 2 pick! More Svechnikov https://mobile.twitter.com/ohlhockey/status/972180745300004864

Injuries and playing against men when he wasn't physically ready for it. No reason to give up on Nylander, we can just go revisit the posts from those who gave up on Reinhart to see how wrong we (fans) can be.

Sportsnet March Rankings https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sportsnets-2018-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings-march/sn-amp/?__twitter_impression=true I'd flip Svechnikov and Zadina but otherwise looks about right I'm still hoping the Sabres draft as high as possible but the reality is that the Top 9 look like difference makers in this draft

Sergachev 2G 1A tonight. Season total - 40 GP. 37G 27A

Here is someone else pounding the table on Dobson with a pretty good breakdown of his game https://mobile.twitter.com/cross_barr/status/971818441085726720

Gorges and Faulk back in to the line-up tonight. Subtle tank move?
-
how many forwards playing tonight will be on the roster next season? Winning tonight has very very little with how this team plays next October. However, if the 12% increase of drafting in the top 3 and the 100% guarantee of drafting in the top 4 could have significant impact on next season.
-
I would be surprised that they have a draft board already. I thought the scouts all got together in April/May and thats when the draft board was put together. Tkachuk wouldn't be the worse thing in the world, he does bring nasty to his game and it's not like he doesn't have any skill / speed but still the other options...
-
wont come as a surprise but I will be hoping Ottawa wins tonight. Samson with a 3 point game but a loss would be best.
-
Totally agree with you. Tkachuk has fallen for me to 7th or 8th for the Sabres. Tkachuk would be a great addition to a team that already has an abundance of skilled / fast players. Sabres are already a prodding team that lacks skill. I think his talents wouldn't suit the Sabres at this time. I think I'm taking Boqvist, Hughes, Dobson and Bouchard ahead of Tkachuk for the Sabres. Only Hughes is a LHD in this group. The real question will come if Sabres have to choose between Zadina and one of the top dmen.
-
What is interesting about Dahlin is that he is a LHD but plays primarily on the Right, which I believe would fit perfectly with the Sabres. Scandella Risto McCabe Dahlin Guhle Bogo / Nelson

I didn't notice you posted the exact as matrix a couple of days before I did. 2018-03-08, 10:28 AM @coreypronman @TheAthleticNHL I often use % involvement in team goals as a way to try to get pts on par for team strength. Mittelstadt is at 31%. Toews was at 30% in 2006/2007.

Here is a good comparison of Boqvist Vs Hughes. Plus some other draft notes https://dobberprospects.com/prospect-ramblings-adam-boqvist-vs-quinn-hughes/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Looks like Minnesota's season is 98% going to continue as they are 98% sure of qualifying for the tournament. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/ratings/probabilityMatrix.php So we will still have to wait a couple of weeks to officially start the #caseywatch

The Great Toronto Illusion (or should I say Delusion)
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
TSN last night said the " leafs put the build in rebuild" but the biggest difference between the 2 teams is that Toronto didn't strip it down nearly as much as Buffalo Included in the Leafs top 10 scorers in 2013-14 for the Leafs: JVR Kadri Bozak Komarov Gardiner Reilly Top 10 scorers from Buffalo still on roster 1) Zemgus Girgensons -
He is definitely faster both forwards and backwards, better defensive as well. Bouchard is known for elite level passing and has a great shot. Probably can't go wrong with either

What Should The Sabres Goals Be For The Rest of The Season?
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Another 5 games down (16 to go). A nice run of 3-2 with victories over Toronto, Boston and TB. They now have 23 points in the second half of the season. Winning % of .460. Samson has another 5 points in his last 5 games. in the 2nd half of the season, he has played 25 games and has put up 23 points .92 points per game clip. Tied with 11 others for 29th in the scoring in the league since Jan 7 Note - since he started putting up points on Jan 17, he is tied for 15th in league scoring. with 23 points in 22 games I also hoped to see Nylander find his game and become a point per game producer for the Amerks. It took him until Jan 27 to get anything going but since then has 12 points in his last 15 games, including points in each of his last 5 games. Hopefully a ray of sunshine in an otherwise disappointing AHL career -
Noah Dobson (who is my #5 prospect) has 9 points in his last 3 games In last 39 games he has 15 goals and 33 assists. Testing at the CHL prospects game: On-Ice Tests: 30M Forward Skate with Puck: 1 – Ty Smith (Spokane Chiefs) 2 – Liam Foudy (London Knights) 3 – Noah Dobson (Acadie-Bathurst Titan) 30M Backward Skate: 1 – Noah Dobson (Acadie-Bathurst Titan) 2 – Evan Bouchard (London Knights) 3 – Xavier Bernard (Drummondville Voltigeurs) 30M Backward Skate with Puck: 1 – Noah Dobson (Acadie-Bathurst Titan) 2 – Ty Smith (Spokane Chiefs) 3 – Liam Foudy (London Knights)as a reminder - Dobson is 6'3 compared to Foudy and Smith who are both 6'0 and under. Im working on putting a highlite package together for him. Here are a couple examples. he wears #53 1st is a goal 2nd is a nice setup. he is the dmam coming in from the point and getting the primary assist 3rd is another goal

The Great Toronto Illusion (or should I say Delusion)
Crusader1969 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Agree with everything except th goaltending has been brutal. Andersson saved their bacon many a times this season, though is going through a bit of a rough streak at the moment -
I've been trying to figure out where Boqvist is playing right now. Not on Brynas or on their J20 team either. Maybe he is hurt? I'm starting to lean towards him as the #3 pick in the draft. Real tight behind him and Zadina. I firmly believe a RHD is better value than a LW if it's really close between 2 draft picks. Sandin would be the guy to watch in round 2. I'm assuming Miller is gone in round 1. still like Tychonic, though have heard scouts question his hockey IQ A guy who will be showing on a lot mor ballots is Liam Foudy of the London Knights. Very similar to PU in that he was buried in their lineup until the trade deadline. Now he is taking advantage of his opportunity and could work his way into the 1st round. 27 points in last 18 games for the Knights Did very well during testing for the CHL top prospects game. http://sherwin-williamstopprospects.ca/article/chls-top-prospects-showcase-strengths-in-sport-testing-combine
