  1. I’d bet Kappo wouldn’t even be part of their offer
  2. Depends completely on what you get back for them. I do think Adam’s has to start making some calls on Eichel, Samson and Risto right away. If I was going to bet , I doubt they get a decent offer for any of them and they will all be back come October
  3. The more I think of it, the more I’m in favour of trading Eichel, Reinhart and Risto Definitely Samson, his value may never be higher than it is right now Build around Dahlin, Cozens and UPL Get Beniers in this years draft. Another culture changing piece. For all 3 to be traded , I’d want them to bring back at least 7 first round pieces 3 or 4 guys a year or two into their NHL careers and 3 or 4 first round picks over the 2022 and 2023 drafts.
  4. Neither Bedard or Michkov are in the 2022 draft
  5. For how much I would like to have Tkachuk on the Sabres, no way I can trade Eichel straight up for him.
  6. You still can't trade him for a bag of pucks now. If you can get one of the top prospects in hockey (Byfield, Dach, Lafreniere), plus plus then they need to seriously consider it. Or you go to Calgary and bring back Tkachuk, Zary and a 1st. I doubt teams offer that though with his injury. So I think he's back in october until he proves he is healthy again. They either start winning and all is forgotten or you trade him then. IMHO
  7. at the end of the day there probably isn't going to be a trade out there this summer that is reasonable for one of the top players in the league. Teams can't give up their top prospects and #1 draft picks for a guy coming off a neck injury and the Sabres can't trade him when his stock is at a low point. He has a contract and needs to honor it. So see you in October and be ready to roll.
  8. I wouldn't worry too much about it. the teams that have the prospects that could make a trade work are ones that he wouldn't say no to. Chicago, NYR and LA Kings...no one has them on their no trade list. However, if they figure out a trade that includes Lafreniere, Byfield or Dach this summer, Im definitely listening after today. I wouldn't have said that before today.
  9. While I’m talking to the Ducks , I’m seeing what it takes to bring back Deslauriers back 4th line Delauriers Zemgus Okposo
  10. I guess that’s the big question - what would he cost. Could they get a 1st rounder for him at the deadline? It also gives them another year to see what they have In Peterka and Quinn They would then have a depth chart of: Rakell cozens / Samson Thompson Okposo with Quinn and Peterka knocking on the door
  11. If you look at the opening night roster of 2021 there will be at least 10 different faces to start 21/22 thats already pretty significant
  12. Thoughts on Richard Rakell? Ducks looking to get younger, Sabres looking to improve now hasn’t really produced much over the last 2 years but also hasn’t been in the best of situations Certainly fills a void on the RW
  13. I think both come back. McCabe on a 1 year prove it deal at slightly above league min Ullmark will resign. Not sure what other options there will be for him.
  14. Good point. Was thinking Turcotte
  15. I guess being shut out is pretty appropriate way to end the season
  16. The more I think about the Sabres roster , pipeline and the draft prospects the more I’m starting to lean towards Brandt Clarke as the pick
  17. The Canadian Conner Bedard and the Russian Matvei Michkov Both Eligible in 2023. However Michkov is under contract to 2026, so you may have to wait a bit for him to get to the NHL. Lets really hope we are talking about the guys rated in the 20s or below by that draft.
  18. would you try flip him to Columbus for one of their goalies? Helps both teams with their expansion protected lists.
  19. Definitely 1 year at the most. Probably at league minimum.
  20. MacKinnon played at the WJC as an 18 year old. Not surprising he didn't have a good tournament. Guenther played in the U18 as an 18 year old. Not sure we are comparing Apples to Apples here. There is no doubt that teams are going to have to have a real close look at the 12 games he played in the WHL, after his performance at this tournament. He definitely wasn't terrible but he never really stood out either. Not that my list matters at all, but as for who I want the Sabres to draft im thinking he's now behind Clarke. Beneirs Eklund Clarke Gunther
  21. The PNHx stats through Dobber prospects has him as a 65-70 point player their model uses players age, league, stats and position How accurate is the model? No idea
  22. https://www.mckeenshockey.com/nhl-blog/ncaa-matt-beniers/ Here is a good write up on Beniers
  23. Too bad Wright isn’t draft eligible! Wonder what teams tank in 23? Looks like 2 superstars on there way
  24. A lot of the prospect writers compare him with Toews his numbers are similar too. Toews was nearly a point a game freshman in 05/06. Plays in the WJC and get 2 points for Canada. Gets drafted in 06 Beniers is a point a game player as a Freshman at Michigan and has 3 points as 2nd line center at WJC for USA.
