If it's the Sabres, Jets and Habs in on Gardiner, I'm hoping he lands in Buffalo or MTL, that'd leave the Jets desperate for help on their blue-line and will make Risto more valuable in their eyes. If the Jets sign him, then them being a dance partner for Risto diminishes, imho.

That'd be great is JBOT can swing a deal. Skinner - Eichel - Ehlers Oloffson - Mittlestat - Reinhart Vesey - EROD - Sheary Wilson - Larsson - Okposo Girgensons, Thompson, and Sobtoka flit around somewhere in there...I don't know. Personally I don't think we can pry Ehlers from them but who knows.

Couldn't find a highlight reel from this past season but I like what I see here from him...it's been said up-thread but his 17 goals puts him behind all sabres not named Jack, Jeff or Sam last year...at the cost of a 3rd round pick and the knowledge that bringing him in means someone else has to be moved out makes me like this trade. I don't understand how people can be upset by him not signing here when we trade for his rights. It was a dumb move by Murray and he had zero obligation to this team. If I'm fresh out of college set to make millions of dollars you bet your ass I'm going somewhere like NYC over Buffalo if I have that choice. Hell, I made that choice (minus the millions of dollars part).

I suppose the question is, "is that good enough for winnipeg to make that trade?"

Is it safe to say JBOT is waiting for FA to shakeout before making any trades? If we bring in a player or two in FA we're going to have too many roster players on the team and will need to jettison some of them, right? Oloffson replaces Pommers and other than that there's no turn-over. I guess you could easily waive Elie, Sobotka, and Wilson. I suppose patience is required. We know JBOT needs and wants to make changes to the roster. I just hate being patient and there's been a lot of activity across the league and I don't like feeling we're getting left behind in the dust.

If memory serves correct he was a waiver wire pick-up when Wilson broke his ankle during training camp, correct? I'd imagine he'd be Rochester bound and would only come up for injuries? Ugh, I'm playing in a hockey tournament this weekend and my first game is at 8:10 pm today, so I'm going to miss most of the first round and hopefully turn my phone on to see an avalanche of trades. Fingers crossed JBOT does something.

I have very little knowledge about any of the draft prospects, why doesn't Spencer Knight make sense? Is he way off the board? Does that indicate a trade down scenario? Edit: A quick google tells me he's the 16th ranked skater and is a goalie. Part of me now wants us to take him at 7 to watch this board implode :)

I was confused by this before I realized there was a second line. An 8 figure contract for a goalie is a sound idea.

I am whelmed by this news. I do t think this team will ever be good with both of these two on the roster. They're infected with "tank stink" and need a change of scenery. Hopefully they're part of a package in a trade.

I think my 1 year trial is coming to an end on the special rate, I'm gonna think long/hard about using that to create a new account.
