I mean, that said, I love the guys who look over the airplane before I fly to make sure its in good shape. You ever think they think about the responsibility on their shoulders?

Construction workers, iron workers, and truckers do not respond to a 911 call when shots are fired. They may be great people and they may provide tangible value to society through their labor contributions but it is not tied directly to public safety. They don't have to walk into a burning building to put out a fire. They could just let it burn to the ground. I'm not saying they would, but they aren't tasked with that job. Here's the thing, even if the missing officer was publicized as part of some media agenda are you also implying that 10,000 people are caught up in it and are going to attend to push that agenda? Are you implying that someone rounded up 10,000 (estimated right?) and convinced them to attend? It is PR. Although the article says that the Pegulas were not looking for publicity on this one. When you announce a funeral to be held at KBC I guess the next question from the media is.. who's paying for it? All of this is PR. There's no denying that.

I didn't notice a "seen" either. -
If the Sabres keep their improved D play then I think playing Johnson won't be a problem. I hope they put Foligno on the top line. Loading that line means the less we have to shut down the others although that is a helluva line to shutdown. Here we go.. 8pm start.. can't wait.

Unless the team he gets traded to can work out a long term contract with him.

We all expect them to fail... and perhaps that's why they have no pressure. If they continue to surprise Mr. Gallant will be this years Jack Adams recipient in a landslide.

It was noted by Rob Ray coming back from the commercial break with about 9 minutes left that Housley was telling the players to stop playing to protect the lead and instead keep attacking. I think this, in a nutshell, is the biggest difference this year from last year. The first few games we've seen an increase in Goals Against because the Sabres focused on generating offense. Jump a guy up in the play. As the turnovers subside this should lead to even more goal scoring. However, if you are a slob in your own end this will kill you. Tonight I believe the Sabres played a more disciplined game. I mentioned the icings that Detroit was taking. As I saw it, many times Detroit had nowhere to go with the puck and tried to dump it early or they missed a long breakout pass. These long passes were a result of trying to avoid the Sabres forecheck. In their own zone, they are still getting trapped in there a bit too often. I think a better team makes them pay a few times. At the same time, they were moving the puck better. They are still lost on positioning at times but its improving. The bottom line is Housley is not going to play "not to lose". He's going to play to win. And I still firmly believe that the lines will shake out more as the injured players return and Kane gets traded. He's the most viable asset to bring in a 3/4 D player and potentially a prospect or good draft pick. I like Kane and he's flying this year but intuition says he's not signing here and therefore will be moved. AS I said, it's purely intuition.... -

Nicely done. Could have been a better game but I think there were some subtle improvements in their game. They forced Detroit into many icings. Lehner played well. Detroit hasn't been good in the past stretch of games but it's a game you have to win and they did it. -

No penalty if the picking player is standing still. -

The Sabres PP is okay if they win the draw. They just can't get back in the zone once it's out. -

Is this a Sabres broadcast? It's so Buffalo focused. -

Exactly. All teams are in attack mode. All out and take every risk because the Sabres are confused. -

They could not be more lost on the power play. Just trying to force everything. Phil is exactly right. More speed. Just make a decision and go. -

Agreed. I don't look at post counts. And generally I don't look at these either. There are people who push a narrative regardless of the conversation. This is the real problem and it has nothing to do with when you joined the forum. -
Maybe talent has a certain smell?

Well you wouldn't fall into the category of those who ONLY complain about them. :) I go when I can too. Being in Rochester makes it tough. If the Sabres didn't have any signs of life a la a few years ago and they were playing the Coyotes I might not consider attending. However, if they were playing a top notch team I would still go to see some good hockey by at least 1 team. :)

I'm glad he's signed on. He's shown some real promise so hopefully he will develop into that solid middle 6 player.
-
Kane's value is already set... if he hasn't signed then I don't suspect he will. This means they are going to move him. If his return lowers GA by the same amount of decreasing GF then I am probably pretty good with the trade.
-
That was a helluva trade by Montreal...

Looking forward to another edition of the Sabres Roller Coaster Revue featuring an NHL hockey contest with the Little Caesar's U40 All-Stars. I predict Sabre Space postings to mimic the personality of a hormonal teenager attempting to understand love. Meanwhile.. let's play some hockey! -
Casey transcends time. He's uh.. err..hmmm... I'm not sure I have anything for that. Damn. Guess he's just an average college player who hasn't learned to pull himself up when he gets knocked around.
