Anyways that got me over the years to study the Battle off Samar and Taffy 3. It is insane that Hasley spent the entire morning hearing report after report of a major Japanese attack and refused to release any of his ships even though at the time, his fleet was so massively superior to the Japanese fleet he faced (which he knew) that his carriers alone could have handled it. Halsey had 5 fleet carriers and 5 escort carrier plus all of their escorts. Why he needed all 6 battleships and the 8 cruisers is unknown. Also also Halsey had dispatched about 50% of his force a few days before the battle to refit and rearm even though he had intelligence reports of the Japanese preparing to attack. Dude really did act stupidly. But back to the original point. Yes, you are 100% correct Nimitz did not actually utter the words even though they are attributed to him.

Here is my issue. It isn't that we lost, as shown above even good teams lose to bad ones over the course of the season, it is that we lose the same way over and over and over and over. A defense that just looks so overmatched by the opposition they can't do anything. It is frustrating. Without Dahlin and with Power still a rookie, this defense is what? Bottom 8 in the league?

There is no reason for KO to be on a PP unit and that isn't meant as a bash to KO. He needs his legs for other things. VO is only useful on the PP so idk what to do with that. Honestly, I would trade VO for the defense help we desperately need because as soon as now we can replace him. Jack Quinn should be on a PP unit and be a go to guy. He has so many tricks that he just generates chaos. We need more Chaos... on offense. On defense Jack Quinn is also one of the best forwards.

It doesn't have to be Chychrun but it has to be better than Stillman. There isn't anyone in the pipeline who could be in Buffalo next year except Johnson. We have to add defense from the outside or we will be yet another team with an obvious issue that just festers until it causes the death of another season.

Yes this thread is older BUT! before SDS shuts us down, Jack Quinn had a dip and then in the last 7 games has bounced back hard and fast. Jack Quinn in the last 7 games has 3g, 5a, and is a +6. We will need him to maintain his production for the stretch here with Tuch out. We need Jack Quinn to breakout, now.
